Paula is right on, don't pressure yourselves into buying a home just to buy one now. Leave info (sq. ft./# of bdrs & baths/garage/price) with a realtor/friend and let them help you out. As always Thanks for an entertaining vlog, Bend, OR is beautiful!
I have a wirehair that I run every mile with. The most important thing that I can tell you is to train him on leash using a pinch collar. The pinch collar isn’t mean and it doesn’t hurt him, just gets his attention when he needs re-direction. Dogs want to learn to follow and be your companion.
Teach him to: “STAY”, “WAIT”, “HEEL”, “WALK”, and “SLOW” (each is unique) while his collar/ leash is on. SLOW will become your running command. He will inevitably do all of the same commands during your workouts and will become an absolutely tireless running partner. It’s so worth it. Take the time to train him and make the command “GO” or “OKAY” distinctly for off leash in the woods as his reward.
Good luck and be patient, one of the most important purchases you will make. In the meantime enjoy training and life!

You will really like the indoor winter swimming facility and tribe in Bend after reopening. I did an extended visit and it was one of the best features of Bend. I’ve heard it’s crowded in the summer.
Yeah we can't wait. I've also heard there may be a new pool on the way.. no idea if that's a 10 year plan or what though.

Eric, Paula - got to see your win in Daytona as I was there racing myself and got a killer PR that day- I do real estate full time in nashville TN and have a couple connections out in bend but 1) you’ll find a house - wait for the right one 2) bend is beautiful- hope to see you out on the course in 2021

We just bought a house in a neighborhood south of Denver, and it was an unbelievably difficult time. I don't know how the situation compares with Bend, but the prices in the Denver area just exploded the last year. Every open house we went to had just lines of people showing up to it, and bidding wars are the norm. It took us 6 offers to get the house we wanted, and we did overpay. However, given the insanely low interest rate, the monthly costs effectively evened out. Best of luck to you two!

Hard time to buy but be patient. Some good advice given already.... But what I really want to know is when are you going to start skate skiing and skijoring?! Was fun to see you drive through my old neighborhood and stop at a local favorite roaster, Evan's brothers. Enjoy Tucson! Make sure to eat at Cafe Poca Cosa.... after a Star Pass ride of course

As a real estate agent, my comment would be: There's always gonna be another house to look at. So take your time. What's important is location, location, location. Don't fall in love with a house you look at. Buy a house that meets your needs and fall in love with it. Don't let El Dogo pull her over and get her injured being tied together.
The weather looks a lot like weather in Vancouver BC!
It's very similar. Portland and Vancouver are practically the same. Bend gets snow obviously, and is super dry and warm in the summer though

I love that you are planning to move to my home town. Bend rocks!! I kinda switched places with you as I am now living in Calgary. You should go check out Tumalo. There are cool trails off of cline falls road. Would you ever be interested in living in a tiny house?
we could do a tiny house if it had a barn next to it for training 😂 we’ve looked at some stuff around tumalo, I would dig living further out once our jobs don’t require a swimming pool every day.

Thanks! I think we’re not communicating how long we’ve been looking while not here. We’ve been watching for the right thing since July, we’ve just got this small window to actually look at places in person right now.

Flyn has to be the fittest dog in North America!!! he could win the Daytona of dogs!!! LOL..... He looks like the happiest dog as well.
We should have a fittest Dog contest. My 2 Australian cattle dog blue heeler mutt rescue dogs got up to 20 miler long runs with me last season. They will run though a brick wall for me. Tough as nails. Great endurance. But they don’t like off days. They are like roosters (sun up and they are insisting movement).
Haha Flynn needs a couple years before he can compete with that. Cattle dogs are amazing
We have a Hungarian vizsla. She can run fast and for a long time. Haven't found a dog that can keep up w her...

yep, have definitely thought about it. We do want to be pretty close in though so we can meet friends for rides/runs easily. Even lots are $$$$ right now though

Hey guys, could not even finish the video, because I am so excited,,,but it just a thought, but why stop at Oregon, whenyou can come train in Santa Cruz, just go for a swim down the cost,,,week or two, you should make it, and promise, it will make you like the best swimmer ever! Or drive down,,,I will gladly show you around, I mean, like Eric, you were the guy I watched win the alcatraz tri, its like what started my dream,,,and would not mind, talk about some kind of bussines, as you videos, are like the best, it was kinda of special, as I saw you walking with the Dayton check in the video, I said, only if I can have that kind of funding, only to wake up and see one of my stocks, though the roof,,,now my dream of winning Hawaii ironman is growing,,,and what better way then to bring you into my life, however if you do accept, the visit, it will be magical,,,keep up the great videos, as you are the best, and I Paula your running looks super good, and was going to comment on it before the race, however, keep running , and watch high school girls run, and copy them,,,as they seem to run perfect naturally,,,AND YOU WILL WIN THE HAWAII IRONMAN TOO, SHOULD BE IRONWOMEN

Those pockets of sun are known as sucker holes. Just enough sun to convince you to go for a ride.
😂 growing up in Portland, I live for the sucker holes
No pressure to buy, in fact, with your campervan, I'd encourage you to rent, be patient for the right rental property.....but then invest the remainder, as savvy investment and rent will always out run buying a principal property.
Downside, you might have a lease end or move, downside might be investments don't appreciate as fast as principal property....but living in Bend, is not NY
It's no gamble, it's the savviest money management.

House hunting is all about the SCHOOLS. When people say Location, they mean the Schools, since no one wants to live in a location with crappy schools. Start here, www.greatschools.org/oregon/bend/schools/?gradeLevels%5B%5D=e the ratings of elementary schools in Bend, OR. If you can’t afford at least a 7 rating school now, then don’t buy a house, your future kids shouldn’t suffer because our rushed to buy a house, sorry.
