Are they really as noisy as people say. I want the HS7’s but a lot of the videos say if you can get over the noise and lack of low end their the best bang for your buck so idk
You hit the nail on the head! Given modern technology for producing audio products of decent to great quality with a fraction of what you would have to spend years ago. A great mini video 👍 Best of the Christmas season and a happy new year to all.
When my NS-10s weren’t working temporarily I got the Yamaha HS7 to stop gap, wildly different with super bright tweeters and lots of low end with the ported design and powered. Amazing speakers for well under a thousand.

Well said Sir! Santa brought me a pair of iLouds as I required such to supplement my Mackie HR824 Mk1s. Great wee speakers for mixing in my very humble opinion!
I have the same hr824 mk1 . Realy high end. With top capicitors. Nichicon. Most monitors now are built cheap. I also have the yamaha msp10 now. And realy love it. Also high end built
I’m using Rokit8s and sennheisers 650s in my new studio and they work just fine for me, I guess you use what you have, they’re still cost me £2000 but I’m new to production
IK has no studio monitors below 300 euros for a pair, Kali has two speakers that are below 300 euros each, one for 200 and another for 300. I wouldn’t describe them as ‘budget’, so I’m suggesting that we received no answer to the simple question.
When I bought my KRK 6's years ago, the guy tried to get me to go with the Yamahas that were twice as much but I really couldn't afford it. The KRKs arent terrible but then I have no basis for comparison and I still wonder if I shot myself in the foot sometimes...
@@CollectionHunter Assuming you're Canadian given the Yorkville reference! I worked at LM in Ontario and can say the HS8s are pretty good for what they are. However, I have a pair of HS5 monitors and the matching HS8S sub and they sound phenomenal together.
Do you have any thoughts on something like Slate VSX? I have a couple of presonus e5 monitors but don't have a great room, or the option to make loads of noise often with two young children often asleep, so they sound appealing but I'm a bit dubious of whether it's really a replacement for proper monitors
I just got a pair of Yamaha NS-10 speakers for $350. Granted, you also have to buy a power amp. But I've got a $300 Crown amp that suits them just fine. So for $650, I've got the most popular studio monitors of all time. I would call that very affordable.
which 1000$ pair of speakers did the designer said is better Than the 10 k ones ? if u can pick one for a fair price , doesn't have to be under 1k but between 1-5 k ? or would u save up and get a ATC SCM 25s or pmcs
I'm gonna say this with utmost confidence. You WILL NOT get a better pair of speakers than the Kali LP-6 V2 for the money. You'll have to spend a lot more money to get anything slightly better. I got a pair used for $250. I still think it's the best deal on any audio purchase I've made.... ever.
that really is a great deal, it’s hard to find useful speakers at all in that price range. I paid €356 for my original LP-6 pair and the V2s are €398 a pair new.
First ever pair were the old Alesis M1 MK2 monitors which I really liked. These days I'm using Kali LP6s which are decent for the price. I'd like to upgrade to maybe some Dynaudios at some point though.
Imho. Anything with polypropylene cones like JBL, Mackie, Sterling, etc are bad. I would only trust KRK, Adam, and Yamaha in this budget because their cones are made of very ridgid material like Kevlar, Carbon Fiber, etc. The more ridgid a speaker material is the better it's ability to reset after vibration- this translates to a more accurate sound recreation than anything a "frequency spectrum chart" can tell you. If you get something that has questionable black cones which are just usually polypropylene + paper + whatever. Everytime your speaker makes a sound, that sound is actually carrying over into the next sound it makes which is slurring your audio image.
Yea a solid old school engineer told me the same thing about Kali I have the A7V but I going to have a travel pair which will definitely be the Kali's 🙏🏽
> "please recommend me a pair of good budget speakers" > proceeds to name 0 models Man, wtf, that short was a "dislike + don't recommend this channel" recipe
Kali Audio were the ones I clearly recommended (choose the ones that fit your budget) then I explained there are also great options. That’s Kali Audio.
Ik multimedia has horrendous customer service once you’re out of warranty, Great sound for the price but i would strongly suggest going for another brand unless you want to get stuck with a set of speaker that don’t work anymore while they refuse to send or sell parts to repair centers.
We would rather buy jbl, yamaha or tannoy from 40 years ago than any chinese made shrill cardboard box sounding speaker of today. oh and on't forget altec lansing!!
Kali just sounded dark and plastic to my ears. Didnt like them at all. Im using early 90s hifi speakers to mix on and calibrated. Bought them used for 20 bucks. Sold my krk vxt8 i had before. and i dont need a sub with them either. Sounds great and translates well after calibration. I wont be buying studio monitors again untill i can afford much mlre expensive options. If i do it even then. Investing further into acoustic treatmen is probably enough. I have listened to my speakers in a friends studio which i used to share before. And ofc there they sounded even better. Studio monitors are overrated. Get good used hifi speakers, run sonarworks, get your acoustics in order an mix all day long. 👌Then if you start making enough money to buy atc, barefoot, amphion and such, go ahead. Thats my advice. Dont underestimate good budget friendly hifispeakers. Old or modern with calibration. I'm not gonna reveal which speakers i have because im still looking for more of them for a complete surround setup of identical speakers all around. Sorry.. 😈
You’re right! The biggest difference actually lies within A vs D class amp. Hifi is A 99% and studio active monitors are D class. I want to try MTMs tho, as they calibrate not only eq but phase too, which is next level. But yeah, late 70ies national speakers I’ve got (3 way, all paper cones, no tweeters) are way above my setup of tannoy 5 + 10 sub. Depth is phenomenal. I think it’s the A amp that’s perfectly matched to these speakers
Really? Hmmm. So.... A guy who's old, and therefore suffering age-related loss, thinks cheap monitors today are as good as expensive monitors of old. My guess is the fact that today's cheap monitors sound NOW the same as older expensive monitors means only that his ability to hear the difference is diminished, NOT that today's are as good. They sound as good, but.... And, please note that I'm an old guy who's experiencing this effect. I think today's cheap monitors are as good as expensive ones too. But I'm honest enough to admit that it's my inability to HEAR that's behind my opinion.
My entry level monitors are Adam Audio 2.1 system of A3X and a Sub7. They sound pretty good. But I’m thinking my next purchase will be 3 way monitors Adam Audio A8H.
Yamaha ns-10s. Git yer mid range shit together. Everything better will lul you into a false sense of creaminess. And then you take it to the car speakers and your like, what the shit? But it sounded so good in the studio. Yamaha. NS-10s. So bad they will make you mix good.
So enjoyable listening to an expert in their field talking.

I almost thought you were going to say at the end there that "Those speakers go to eleven." 😂

@ApexLunatic -I haven't noticed any extra noise from the HS7s. I don't blast them, due to living in an apartment, either.
can't compare with kali audio, had HS8's, too boomy and not precise!
Adam A7V’s coupled with Sonarworks and some basic room treatment will make your home studio sound amazing!
3 things helped me achieve fantastic mixes. Soundgym, my Neumann KH310’s, and treating my room to the best of my ability.
Are the KH310s too bassy.?
@@snoopywalker1881 not at all. They're so clear and balanced with tight, dry bass. They're a dream man. Can't recommend enough.
