- We finally picked up our 2022 Ford F-450 Super Duty truck! This was ordered back in July and we received it at the end of November. Like everything else right now, there are significant delays in the auto industry. Fortunately, we ordered a more basic trim level, the XLT package, which meant there were fewer chances of supplier delays holding up production. We'll give you an overview of the 2022 Ford Super Duty as well as a discussion of the Super Duty trucks with a Seelye Ford salesman.

Great looking and equipped truck. F450s are tough to beat with the turning radius. Probably the biggest selling point and most talked about on the Ford and RV forums.
If you're looking for input, I'm all for the occasional truck talk and updates on your fleet.
Cool, I like making the off the main subject videos now and then.
I would recommend putting your diesel transfer tank up top of the bed up against the headache rack like most do, the most common setup for a reason. Some tanks are no more wide than a foot and can hold up to 50-60 gallons. Then you can utilize under bed boxes for straps and chains.

Shameful that LED headlights aren't standard in 22 or at least a reasonable cost option. The people operating these trucks at night supporting commerce in the USA deserve to be safe and see the road well.

I just delivery of a F450 Diesel in the same Anti Matter blue. I traded my Ram 3500 Cummings. The fuel tank is great no more slip tank taking up room in my box. This is my first Ford. I've had many Duramax's and Cummings. I hope I made the right choice. Great videos and content I have a BX2680 and a New Holland T5 120. Your advice has helped me make better decisions. I also only flail mowers. I have used them for over 10 years. More money but great cut and more versatility. Thanks Cortney !!!!

I have (12) F550’s with 16’ beds- good work trucks. Certain things I love about them and certain things I hate. The turning radius is definitely great. The new Ram 5500’s here in MA are giving the Super Duty’s a run for their money. I’ve had far less issues with my Cummins trucks than my Fords but love them both for different reasons. I have been debating about changing to an XLT....it's been 6 months on my 22 F350 Platinum 6.7 Tremor that was placed on order last August 2021, no sunroof no adaptive steering. 5th wheel prep commodity issues as well as Tremor package. My sales guy called yesterday and said my order has been bumped to a priority code #2. Hope this helps. Otherwise, I may just get an XLT
I traded a 2019 Ford Edge ST that was fully loaded for a nicely optioned 2021 Ford Ranger XLT. Like you, I got the SuperCab, but because I wanted the longer bed, and other than the dogs, no one rides in the rear. I do miss the push button start the Edge had, but I could only get that with the Lariat package, and I didn't want leather. My XLT does have BLIS, but I was under the impression that the reason you couldn't was because of the bed not having the standard tail light assembly.
Things I miss from the Edge are the heated steering wheel (not available on any Ranger), the adaptive LED headlights (adaptive is where the headlights move in the direction you're steering), and the secondary digital displays (can't see what's playing on XM when Android Auto is running). I will say the 10 speed transmission on the Ranger is far superior to the problem ridden 8 speed on the Edge. While the Edge had a 2.7L twin turbo that makes 355 HP and 355 torque, the 2.3L turbo in the Ranger makes 270 HP, and is pretty perky.

I'm a Ford man through and through and I've checked into these truck alot. There one thing that I know of on The F450 is they are very hard on front tires. They cup fast but I think the competition has the same problem.
I have three Super Duty’s … 2019, 2020 & 2022, have used the Super Duty since 2002 … the current model/frame has an aftermarket 50 gallon fuel tank available, have upgraded call three of the vehicles.

I have a big Gooseneck I pull behind my 2019 F350 dually.. mostly skid steers and excavators.. But sometimes I will haul a D5 dozer behind it.. It handles it great. Love these new trucks
We got a 21 F350xl with the 7.3 gas job and dump body on it last spring in the same color absolutely love it!

I know I will probably be slapped around a bit for this, but...
I am a Toyota guy. I have a 3 yr old Tundra Crewmax cab that serves as my workhorse for hauling. I know it doesn't have the power of the bigger Ford diesels, but it serves my needs nicely with plenty of room for the family.
Having said that, the 450 looks nice! For the size of the tractors and attachments you deal with, the Tundra would probably struggle more than it is worth. I hope it serves you well for many years to come!

Have a 3 yr old Expedition for my wife, and an ‘05 F350 KR DRW for me. I’d love a newer truck, but find it impossible to spend that kind of money on a truck. Yours sure looks perfect for your needs. Oh and if you’re ever feeling generous with the other 2 trucks, I’ll gladly take one of them off your hands for you.
Great truck. I had those mirrors on my work truck and they are awesome. Be very careful with them though as replacements are a grand a piece! Only option I would have gotten was a locking differential.

Yup i like the fuel range on my 18 F250 crew long box.. has a 50gal. tank fuel range says 730ish when full ..and it's 6.2 gasser

Good morning. Food for thought. Linex can spray the underside of the truck and bed. Some shops also provide a service for spray interior panels for rust/corrosion protection.
By some shops I ment some Linex shops not all.

Nice! Now for some Sulastic Shackle Springs on rear of the leaf springs. Greatly improves the Empty Payload Ride, tire longevity, braking, less wheel hop. Also, some Centramatic Wheel Balancers. Improves ride, tire wear and tire longevity. Enjoy your day.

We put those shackles on a new ram 4500 did not notice any difference in ride ?As for wheel balance the best thing we have found and we use on all our trucks is balance beads. I would never use external weights ever again.

I've always been a Chevy/GM and Jeep guy. I got a unique need for my company and a diesel van fit the need perfectly. We have a Dodge Sprinter. All sprinters are made by Mercedes. Recently, I took mine to a Dodge dealer for a factory recall and minor repair. They kept the van for two weeks. Not because of a parts shortage but because they kept ordering parts for a Dodge Promaster van. Grrrrrrrr!!!!!! Not to mention what they charge!!!!!
When you spoke of customer care short comings, let me tell you about the Jeep dealer here that has gone out of business now, the Chevy dealer I refuse to go back to, and now a Dodge dealer!!!

I ordered my ‘22 F-350 Platinum Tremor on May 15th and it came in on Sept. 13th. Pretty loaded up dropped the adaptive Steering to get it. I also ditched the sunroof on this one as I didn’t use it much on my ‘18.

You shouldn't have a problem finding storage boxes for under the flat deck. A couple places come to mind is Knaphiede and Monroe in Flint. There are probably similar places in Kzoo or GR.
There was even a Knaphiede decal on the door into the dealership at 3:54.
Hello. My name is Kevin. I live and work down in Elkhart Indiana. I work in factory service for a Rv manufacturer. Something I think you could possibly add to the truck or to the trailer the truck may dominantly tow behind the 450 is furrion makes a camera system that gives you side view when the turn signal is turned on. Cameras are powers by the running lights. Think with the bells and whistles you talk about and the no brainer things you got on the 450 I think that could be a helpful upgrade. Fell like you could add it to the truck as well if you don’t want it on the trailer. This may help in the area of the rear option you gave up that was not available with the flat bed that your 350 has. Look into it. See what ya think. Not a sales guy just a viewer that kinda likes tractors lol. Thanks for the videos you make. I can see how well you cover stuff for folks how could they go wrong buying anything if they listen to what you have to say.
Good Works: Can you describe the aluminum bed feel while driving and some details of the bed please?
Might be able to put a semi tank on the frame rail under the bed for fueling equipment. Might be able to find a used one cheap if it will fit. Put a semi strap box on the other side.
I waited 7 months for my 2021. Ordered 2/21 ( before chip shortage was announced and they were still discounting off sticker) got it 9/21. I went gas because I'm a low mileage user and doubtful I'll tow more than 10k -12k #'s. As he stated the diesel will resale for $4-$5 k more; but it costs $10k more upfront so you're still out $5-$6k net, net. So far, very pleased with the 7.3l gas.
I think i lot of people are going with the 7.3. It's a very good motor.

You know a guy should put some airbags on your f350 and f250 tow rigs that way they dont lean that much and save on the springs.
We have them in both our trucks and man it just rides better and looks better when its level.

Hey Courtney not to be confrontational but I just wanna say at my work we drive ambulances and there fords, granted they don’t get driven the best by any stretch, but just to mention may want to watch the fuel system and the fuel filter canister as it used to be plastic may still be and it will at some point fail likely. There’s others but that’s a big part. Mind you our ambulances also carry at minimum 6000# with the box. Just a heads up. Not trying to dog on a Ford.

Congratulations on your beautiful new truck. I’m interested to see what you do for LED’s. I have a 21 F350 that I’ve tried to switch over. Having issues which I was told I would if they weren’t from the factory.
You have to either have the dealer turn on LED Headlight in the body control module. Other option is to get Forscan and a laptop to do it yourself.
I ordered an F350 chassis cab lariat in March of last year. Still have not received it yet. Love the F450. Good luck with the offset rear camera. It will be as if you didn’t even have it when trying to use it for hooking up a trailer. I have a Chevy 3500 now and the rear camera is offset as well. I hate it. Can hardly wait for my F350 arrives.
If I was using my truck for daily driving around town, I'd prefer a gas engine, but for towing/hauling (which is primarily what I use my truck for), I much prefer a diesel. I see you loaded your trailer with the bigger tractor over the hitch. Is that for a specific reason? I think I'd tend toward loading the heavier item over the trailer axles to avoid squatting the truck (unless there's a good reason not to).
I noticed his trailer has tandem singles, maybe trying not to overload the tires. Just a thought.
If you want a larger fuel tank for your 350 look into S&B’s fuel tank, if I remember correctly it’s a 68 gallon tank and stays under the truck
I love your trucks. And I love my ‘22 f250 lariat crew cab diesel! They did a much better lens on the 22 for the halogen headlights, I like them much better than the halogens on my 19 lariat Powerstroke.

FWI the blis can’t be added to any truck with a flatbed even if you got a platinum. I know you can get blis on xlt f150 (even back to 2018) so I’m assuming you can get blis on an xlt super duty with a bed but I’m not sure.

Nice truck. The most maddening thing to me about these trucks (not just Ford necessarily) is the more limited options you have if you simply want a standard cab. The LED lights you referred to is the perfect example. They fit, they have them, so why not. If you don't need four doors, why should you be precluded from other options? Silly.
