Hello! First, we thank you for this review. Would also like to mention that Bitdefender’s ransomware approach is a multi-layered one.
We know how important personal data is to our users; hence the “better safe than sorry approach” when it comes to ransomware.
It includes a data-protection layer that safeguards documents, pictures, videos and music against all kinds of ransomware attacks. It works with the Advanced Threat Defense module to protect files from encryption by ransomware.
Regarding the video - although the sample was not detected by Real time protection, it was another security layer - Ransomware remediation - that saved the precious data by backing it up.
    Stay safe! The Bitdefender Team

Bitdefender is little heavy, uses more RAM, CPUs, and more drive space, and also not 100% detection rate. Bitdefender also sometimes blocks normal apps aggressively, and allows malware smoothly! but this never happens with Kaspersky. btw webroot is great too when it comes to detection rate but very OLD UI feels like 1990s software they need to update their UI.

It would have been interesting to see how Bitdefender would have done about the different threats with the test script whitelisted.
I don't know much about this sort of thing, but it occurs to me that if it noticed something fishy about the test script, that doesn't mean that it would've detected any one of those threats had they occurred in an isolated incident - which seems like a more realistic scenario to test for.

Now some AVs like to terminate it as they detected it launching a bunch of malware so thats why that happens

Now in these settings, there are 3 options, the first is if the extreme protection level will slow down the laptop, the second is optimal and it is recommended during installation for users. used bitdefender before i switched over to kaspersky. bitdefender ain't the worst but you gotta do A LOT OF babysitting. bitdefender will often block stuff without telling you, you have to find it out on your own. i even had things like games like "flower" not working correctly anymore, 'cause bitdefender silently blocked the game from saving configuration files. once i whitelisted it manually it worked again. bitdefender will also never tell you what it's doing right now, what exactly it is blocking, you always have to open up the program manually and go through the log. kaspersky on the other hand is quite talkative. it tells you what it's doing and what it's blocking. perfect example can be seen in this video right at the start already. bitdefender only says "ransomware blocked" while kaspersky tells you the exact exe it is blocking, what object it detected and where it was found. when opening up discord kaspersky always tells me that it blocked the camera so no one has access to it. using bitdefender i wouldn't even know if it does block it or not, 'cause it simply doesn't tell me anything. i have to "trust" the program.
