Norton is pretty fantastic overall, not hefty to run like my old Best Buy job had us lead people to believe (They were partnered with Kaspersky.) My Bullguard product is partnering with Norton in a few weeks so Bullguard will become Norton Go Premium but this video doesn't fill me with much hope...
Please also make a same video like this with Kaspersky because in the Norton's website under the articles posts, they have posted an article related to Kaspersky vs Norton products, and according to them Norton is the winner of every test. I mean they have tested Kaspersky and Norton against viruses where Kaspersky has 82 percent result and Norton has 96 percent result and not only this they have written that Norton is now the best antivirus even powerful than Kaspersky against viruses and all that stuff. So please make one more video with Kaspersky as Kaspersky has always been excellent among all. We have used norton for years, I have had a few viruses get on but had no problem getting rid of them that was with old norton(s). I love how it blocks the yuk from getting onto the system in the first place. I do not download a lot of stuff.
You CAN get a trial and cancel it immediately because I just done it as for the not being able to move thst one threat it seems unrealistic because norton would have picked it up if it wasn't handling everything else
The laptop that runs my laser cutter is in the computer fix it shop right now with a Norton Infiny loop as was described in the video. Some type of Trojan that changed the desktop. We get image files for the laser cutter and every so often the laptop gets locked up and I am going to try Kaspersky and give it a try. I haven't lost the laptop yet and it is not linked to our business network. The cutter is isolated to the laptop that drives it, no WiFi connection. So the Trojan came in by sneaker net in one of our clients memory sticks. We are a small shop so this has been a cheap way to stay safe from outside files.
Problem with the Exclude/Fix option on Norton is that the Exclude option doesn't do Jack Feces. It will find the excluded item again .. and again ... and again .... so trying to get it to ignore a false alarm is impossible.
Great video, not being a techy person myself your narration was great and easy to understand. So what is the recommendation? that you feel is the best security to detect and catch malware, ransomware, and PUP's that are user-friendly?
I used norton as a trial. I removed it in a couple of days. My system slowed down. I tried it back with win XP the same sort of thing back then the machine would hardly run. Back in the DOS world norton ran quite well; mostly did dos tasks of 3.5 floppies. : - )).
Norton user here (since 2015). I haven't had problems with unremovable viruses; mine seems to get everything removed without user intervention (no "Security Warning" windows).
You do not have the samples they have. This comment is void. Norton not being able to kill a process tree is embarrassing. And as a coder, I can assure you, it is one line of code.
I was a Kaspersky user years ago now i am a Microsoft defender user. no issues then and now but switching to Microsoft defender i saved money, low cpu, ram and storage usage, saved extra time by not installing a new antivirus software 😊
Do you know the difference between free and paid antivirus and the antivirus companies, the main feature you are actually paying for and critical with antivirus? And you do know that Microsoft defender is not antivirus solution at all, right? lol
I've got norton ultra, I've had 13 major viruses trying to push through and norton saved me. My files are worth thousands of hours there backed up 4x over. I got so many files I have to spread it over 8x 1tb ssd and 1x 2tb hdd and 4x 2tb external. 18x usbs 😪 honestly there really good
You should have run the ransomware test anyways. Yes, it’s better to see it work without the cloud, but you could just unplug it from the internet to deprive it of its cloud resources.
yeah if i know there is an active trojan or malware, always disconnect the pc from the internet so it cant "phone home" while you are trying to remove/kill it
I recommend Norton from Norton them selves, and NEVER from retail or ISP Keep in mind that when you need help or issues with the product, its the retailer or ISP that is responsible, not Norton… You have issues with ISP-Norton, its up to your ISP to help you and give you the tech support! Could be expensive if ISP charge you premium for tech help.. Telenor in Norway here charge 25,- NOK pr. minute on phone… They dont have the option to remote control your PC and help you first hand either. With Norton you get free help and remote control with tech help , and you get virus removal too if needed With retail you get the retails policy of the product and they are also always worse than what Norton them selves can do for you! Never buy products from retailers if you can get it from the original source :-)

Norton has a reputation of being a week or more behind all of the other products free and paid alike. He did a test just like this one with the free version of avira and avira didn't randomly fail to remove a threat it detected. What little it allowed through didn't seem to affect the system a whole lot. Norton and McAfee are the only two well known security products that consistently fail as much as they do. They haven't really improved at all. They're way behind comodo in terms of prevention. And they're WAY behind bitdefender, SecureAge, Sophos, Emsisoft, Avira, Avast/AVG and all of the AI-based scanners in terms of positive detection.

that was pretty awesome. but would you plz tell me how did you run more than one anti virus on the same machine without any problems? because I thought doing that will cause the machine to be very laggy.

Question... My new MSI laptop is coming with Norton pre installed, there is no way around it. If an AV has been inactivated and set up, do you think it's just safe to go ahead and uninstall it as the very first thing I do before installing what I use, malwarebytes? I really do not want to have to download all the individual drivers and do a fresh install If uninstalling is not the answer, I guess I'll just sub to Norton after the 90 free days.
Ive had a great experience with norton. But I still don’t doubt this video. I got it built in with my laptop and when my free trial ran out I didn’t get charged or any of that. It’s a great anti-virus but there is definitely better. It’s also pricey so after this year runs out I’m switching to malware bytes
As a norton user it was a terrrible experience i got multiple trojans on my laptop and norton kept asking me to reset which i did numerous times and nope nothing. The trojans still there like wtf? Im paying for an anti virus that cant do its job
Interesting how it's even legal to offer a 60 day free trial that locks you in after 45 days. To me that means that the trial is 45 days and you get 15 days free subscription. You're not trialling it after 45 days because you're then locked in to paying whatever you've decided. That's complicated. If it's complicated it's anti consumer. And that's bad. There is no legitimately good reason for making a free trial complicated unless you're trying to pull a fast one.

Will you test the newest Version of Norton LifeLock 360?
In VBA Norton blocks "CreateObject("WScript.Shell"), part of any aged book, but recent ways Virus like Emotet uses, sn't blocked. Don't they check current threats?
My Bullguard product is partnering with Norton in a few weeks so Bullguard will become Norton Go Premium but this video doesn't fill me with much hope...
the worst part is the recommended action actually exclude the thing lol
Bitdefender total security 2021, and then vs karpesky pls Leo
Please also make a same video like this with Kaspersky because in the Norton's website under the articles posts, they have posted an article related to Kaspersky vs Norton products, and according to them Norton is the winner of every test. I mean they have tested Kaspersky and Norton against viruses where Kaspersky has 82 percent result and Norton has 96 percent result and not only this they have written that Norton is now the best antivirus even powerful than Kaspersky against viruses and all that stuff. So please make one more video with Kaspersky as Kaspersky has always been excellent among all. As I am following your channel since long time thats why I know that Kaspersky is 1000 times better than all and bitdefender is also good. Please please make one
It's fake news... Kaspersky is much better than Norton
We have used norton for years, I have had a few viruses get on but had no problem getting rid of them that was with old norton(s). I love how it blocks the yuk from getting onto the system in the first place. I do not download a lot of stuff.
I downloaded a cracked game that wound up being a virus but Norton removed it. Is it really gone?
You CAN get a trial and cancel it immediately because I just done it as for the not being able to move thst one threat it seems unrealistic because norton would have picked it up if it wasn't handling everything else
Hi Leo,
Can you make a video for testing of Palo Alto XDR vs Malware
Could you do a rating score at the end? maybe like 8/10 pro-active removals based on your experience with other antivirus scan?
Yep. I found that I tried excluding a false alarm. Basically a no-op.
can u test Bullguard Internet Security if possible?
Yes I also want it
I'm having a 6 month free trial
Thank you for your work! great content! very help- and insightful!
Great video, not being a techy person myself your narration was great and easy to understand. So what is the recommendation? that you feel is the best security to detect and catch malware, ransomware, and PUP's that are user-friendly?
Please make video on latest version of quick heal..I want to know how it performs
Sir can you check Dr.Capsule Antivirus.
It was the sa for , In the GMS I switched the "Program" to "Analog app 1 TE"
I think you should try manually quarantining the file.
I used norton as a trial. I removed it in a couple of days. My system slowed down. I tried it back with win XP the same sort of thing back then the machine would hardly run. Back in the DOS world norton ran quite well; mostly did dos tasks of 3.5 floppies. : - )).
Great to teach us about protection of the interwebs, but please never make your personal email visible on the webs. One of the golden rules ;)
On their website they say that they are so confident on removing viruses that if they don't manage to do so, they give you a 100% refund.
Real nice of them to cover a hundred bucks. Too bad your 1k computer is fucked.
Norton user here (since 2015). I haven't had problems with unremovable viruses; mine seems to get everything removed without user intervention (no "Security Warning" windows).
You do not have the samples they have. This comment is void.
Norton not being able to kill a process tree is embarrassing. And as a coder, I can assure you, it is one line of code.
i suggest using a password in norton for unwanted to change norton settings, ive never had a treat issue which could not get solved
And you do know that Microsoft defender is not antivirus solution at all, right? lol
Can you test Emsisoft?
i would like to see how acronis true image home works with ransomware.
I've got norton ultra, I've had 13 major viruses trying to push through and norton saved me. My files are worth thousands of hours there backed up 4x over. I got so many files I have to spread it over 8x 1tb ssd and 1x 2tb hdd and 4x 2tb external. 18x usbs 😪 honestly there really good
you would be much better with a NAS for all this.
greetings, have you made any security review on AlienVault USM
It was necessary to set in the settings Delete threats to me on the spot and threats with a low degree of risk
did you claim your money back from Norton ? i use norton 360 well happy with it and the service i get from hlep wheni use it
Lol Jesus Norton just gave up lol love the videos definitely helps finding proper good protection
Kaspersky thats all I can tell you on that xD
@@errorpound9066 lol what i use now lol so reliable
Andrew Kappler sure
@@errorpound9066 Bitdefender is better
hobbitmann lmao bitdefender and Kaspersky cannot even be compared to each other kaspersky is on a different level
thank you so much for this video.
Does this also work for my new I Pad Tablet? I do not use my old apple product.
You should have run the ransomware test anyways. Yes, it’s better to see it work without the cloud, but you could just unplug it from the internet to deprive it of its cloud resources.
yeah if i know there is an active trojan or malware, always disconnect the pc from the internet so it cant "phone home" while you are trying to remove/kill it
Leo, would it matter if malex is ran through a elevated cmd? Does malex run the payloads as a Child PID or as a standalone PID?
do a ransomware test only on Norton antivirus
would like to see a review of Acronis 2021 fully integrated backup and cyber security with real time protection
Very good Norton. Is a bug, but the system is clean
Could u remake this one? I got 360 lifelock, the one with identical protection, fraud insurance, and VPN thru my ISP. Would you recommend using this?
I recommend Norton from Norton them selves, and NEVER from retail or ISP
Keep in mind that when you need help or issues with the product, its the retailer or ISP that is responsible, not Norton…
You have issues with ISP-Norton, its up to your ISP to help you and give you the tech support! Could be expensive if ISP charge you premium for tech help.. Telenor in Norway here charge 25,- NOK pr. minute on phone…
They dont have the option to remote control your PC and help you first hand either.
With Norton you get free help and remote control with tech help , and you get virus removal too if needed
With retail you get the retails policy of the product and they are also always worse than what Norton them selves can do for you!
Never buy products from retailers if you can get it from the original source :-)
Can you try McAfee Gamer Security. while playing some games?
Why have you stopped using mbam as a second opinion scanner?
most likely when it went paid only. used to always be free, now to even download you need to pay. from my experience
@@TriforceOfCourage97 you don't?
@@baroneimen3248 i dont use it, went to download it a little while back for a quick scan, and i had to pay. used something else. I'm not paying for that lol
@@TriforceOfCourage97 www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/ I don't see any payment required
@@TriforceOfCourage97 Nonsense, I've used it for years on test PC's without cost.
Your recollection is skewed.
I wanan know if anything got rid of that particular trojan!
Love your tests...

How the hell is Symantec still in business?
Because customers like myself have been using them for over a decade and never once had a virus, that's why. Its definitely a top tier anti virus software, its not slow, the people saying its slow how crappy computers and blame Norton, norton doesn't give a hoot what they think Norton is big dollar service many companies use them because its reliable protection... the clown in this video let virus slip thru with manual permissions (admin control) Norton blocked every threat that tried to get through , he was force to "allow" them through to make his favorite anti virus "look good" we all know those cheap ass services cant touch Nortons sonar
@@lolz616 He did the exact same test with comodo and it only missed one and that one it missed was still prevented from doing its damage
@@AlrekArinbjorn Norton didn't miss any. He manually infected his computer (allowed it thru) and then started complaining about the removal process to make norton look bad (without using power eraser) after infecting it with a hard to rid virus. hes a idiot.
@@lolz616 Comodo didn't miss any even after Leo allowed his automation tool to continue running malware.
@@AlrekArinbjorn Norton has better FEATURES, SYSTEM PERFORMANCE, and Customer satisfaction. "Tie. Both Bitdefender and Norton showed excellent performance in independent malware protection evaluations." This means both offer excellent virus protection, but Norton's features, VPN, system performance, and customter satisfaaction edge it far ahead of BitDefender... its market cap is significantly higher for a REASON cause its overall better
Hey, please test Symantec Endpoint Protection Including ICDm with their EDR feature? Thx
I see that this antivirus sucks, that it has problems deleting one file, and by the end of the video Hitman wasn't detecting that file. This is weird.
Where to find all the viruses that u have collected ? I want to test on my environment. Thank you!
As a Norton user I am terrified after seeing this
The other avs did much better
True, however website`s are not gunna hit you with over 1000s viruses tho, the biggest attack ive had on my pc is close to 200.. Norton still ranked 2nd in the test labs and at a success rate of 98.9% 1st place is 99%.
that was pretty awesome. but would you plz tell me how did you run more than one anti virus on the same machine without any problems? because I thought doing that will cause the machine to be very laggy.
you have to disable both real time protection and autostart on one of them. so basically the other one should only open if you launch it directly for a second opinion
He didn't run more than one, hitman pro is a second opinion scanner and doesn't stay active on the system...
Don't run more than 1 AV in real-time, because it can cause major problems and a virus can slip through as the 2 AV are fighting between themselves.
How did you fix it?
I think its time for a bitdefender internet security test of the latest version with new ui
Oh god i remember power eraser detected registry change and i didnt apply the fix. But now it doesnt detect that so am i safe?
Question...
My new MSI laptop is coming with Norton pre installed, there is no way around it.
If an AV has been inactivated and set up, do you think it's just safe to go ahead and uninstall it as the very first thing I do before installing what I use, malwarebytes?
I really do not want to have to download all the individual drivers and do a fresh install
If uninstalling is not the answer, I guess I'll just sub to Norton after the 90 free days.
Ive had a great experience with norton. But I still don’t doubt this video. I got it built in with my laptop and when my free trial ran out I didn’t get charged or any of that. It’s a great anti-virus but there is definitely better. It’s also pricey so after this year runs out I’m switching to malware bytes
Always buy the boxed version from eBay or Amazon it's so much cheaper.
Please do a trio test or maybe quad
Panda vs Bitdefender vs Kaspersky vs Malwarebytes av
Can you plzz test quick heal's latest version ?
My experience with Norton is good. However, I don't troll the depths of Internet. So I am a safe user.
I managed to trick the "required" credit card thing by using a Paypal with a dead visa gift card. 5-6 months in and still working flawlessly.
As a norton user it was a terrrible experience i got multiple trojans on my laptop and norton kept asking me to reset which i did numerous times and nope nothing. The trojans still there like wtf? Im paying for an anti virus that cant do its job
In my 10years of experience as a home user,, kaspersky is cheap and bast,, bitdefender also is an good option but it eat little pc performance 🙏🙏🙏🙏
It seems like norton doesn’t have access because you accepted prompts during the malware attack phase of the video
how about Bitdefender? they say this is the best.
Can you recommend any cleaner program and antivirus that can detect and remove any malware or ransomware?
He has an old video on how to clean an infected system
Lol Cleaner.... the only cleaner I would trust is the one that cleans my house
There's no definitive guide, it depends.
Mine doesn't seem to be removing anything it just keeps saying I'm protected even though there is malware have no idea how to remove this
fun fact about norton. i was trying to mine some etherium but norton kept bllocking acces by aio miner to github. so i tried to turn that block off. but it wouldnt, turns out that its a bug thats been known for at least a year. norton is so bad lately im getting me some kaspersky
Good, kaspersky and bitdefender are like the gods of anti-viruses
Love your videos! They are amazung! Can you please test Dr. Web Security Space? Thank you!
Mcafee vs norton please
