We've been using it since 2008, not a single infection since then... back then, I was also a not very vigilant child, known to download malware on a weekly basis 😂
It is a tough call, because they are both excellent programs. Personally, I don't mind false positives. Kaspersky has a great user interface that you can tweak quite a lot. If I have to have a Microsoft-based tool , and a anti-malware program starts "clutching at its pearls", I will just run it in a sandbox in a host M$ OS running under a Linux hypervisor, and see what goes on with it. Web apps are more dangerous generically because they can crack your browser on whatever the box is, and try to escalate control from there. So if you are going to sandbox anything, make it your browser, IMHO. I like the DOM idea in QUBES OS. The hypervisor OS has no internet connection, and you can create host OSes [of any flavour] from templates, and you interact with the world from the guest OS's. If you get into trouble with one, just delete it. It can always be respawned afresh from your templates. You update DOM from the most hardened guest OS, and never use that virtual machine for anything else. You can use a different secure OS for sensitive info [like internet banking or whatever], and another OS as your "daily driver". It is the best compromise I have seen that gives your hardened OS capability and yet the convenience of moderate security for normal tasks.
This is nice! I've been a Bitdefender user for years with my family and PCs. I couldn't trust Kaspersky before as they had a lot of product upgrade spam. It just irritated me. Nice to know their performance is up!
With today's technology, it doesn't matter much. Even the free AV programs are more or less at par with the expensive ones. To me, the issue is how quickly an AV company reacts to a new threat.

Great video. But instead of only malware tests can you also look into the advanced threat defenses of these antivirus since they they pose quite a major issue. For malware tests antivirus are getting better at detecting them
Bitdefender failed me with a very sneaky RAT that was a persistent threat. The malware was able to disable Bitdefender immediately (I'm assuming through remote commands) and then do whatever it needed to to Windows to shield it from view. Then the app started back up again and made no peep about the malware. I abandoned Bitdefender after that. I'm now using Kaspersky with VPN. Hoping this one does better but I'm not holding my breath.
It would be interesting to see some antivirus comparison for android phones. Some of my experience tells me that in that case Bitdefender is a better option than Kaspersky.

Ty for the information
This sucks that Kaspersky is being banned in the US, I’ve used it for years and loved it. Now I’m thinking about switching to Bitdefender
rip Kaspersky, you will be missed.
You one of the few knowing this. I liked it too but do not trust Russian companies.
@@DrTarrandProfessorFether kaspersky isnt a russian company anymore
@@DrTarrandProfessorFether I don't care if it's russian or not. I trust the product because it has 100% detection and prevention
bitdefender still earning its place ; glad to see it
also glad to see kaspersky has gotten a lot better in recent years
great video dude =]
This is like watching IPL matches antivirus premiere league ❤❤ great commentary bro ❤
Finally, 2024 Kaspersky live test, thanks leo
Really appreciate the work you do, you are the best I’ve seen in cyber security on this platform
Thank you so much for the comparison.
Can you make antivirus tierlist???
Kaspersky and Bitdefender S tier the rest below
With today's technology, it doesn't matter much. Even the free AV programs are more or less at par with the expensive ones. To me, the issue is how quickly an AV company reacts to a new threat.
Hey Leo thank you very much this is great comparison between two great security applications I hope you can make another antivirus tier list for 2024
This is great, but I would like to see how many system resources are being used.
i vote for Kaspersky am using Kaspersky from 2019 and i still used it ❤
Using KAV since 2008 here!
Using KAV since 2008 here!
Thx 4 the testing. It's really appreciated... Which one uses less resources it it's significant ?? 👍😎
yes Kaspersky uses less, it can be significant at times.
FINALLY BITDEFENDER. DO MORE!!
Super comparison! Can we see a comparison between Sophos enterprise and Bit defender enterprise? I use for various companies the Sophos security suite and I must say it's rock solid, especially it's tamper protection! Happy to provide a license for a Sophos enterprise endpoint to test
Thanks for the heavy test, validates my confidence in my Bitdefender. I'd used Kaspersky years ago, but stopped when the rise in Russian hacking really got rolling as it was reported by agencies as a risk considering where it comes from. Kaspersky did a good job then, but being paranoid about the internet isn't a bad thing. I always keep an eye on things and would jump from Bitdefender to another security suite that was proved to be significantly better. Subscriber to this great channel.
I had the same thoughts. Kaspersky has a great granular interface, even traps Apps trying to access the webcam… BUUUUUUT… it’s run out of Moscow and Moscow takes requests from Beijing. Ergo… your entire hard disk being scanned for viruses could also be scanned for anything that Beijing/Moscow might be looking for….
@@jschreiber6461 it's funny that you prefer to be scanned for the needs of the NSA or the FBI, rather than for the needs of abstract Moscow or for some reason Beijing.
Guys... you do know that it's not in their best interest to bombard themselves with data off millions of disks, right???
@@jschreiber6461brainwashed cattle.
Bitdefender and kaspersky both are great. But the problem with bitdefender is, they too much eating RAM or CPU and sometime, the web blocking dosen't always work. But to be honest, both product are great
Bitdefender for me only uses a few percent more in background usage.
@@blazerod592 i agree. because i had been try bitdefender before like internet security and total security. but the biggest problem with bitdefender is sometime miss like blocking malware or virus or something else. and bitdefender dosen't have feature like kaspersky such us system watcher. but to he honest. bitdefender and kaspersky are greate than other AV
Used Kaspersky for many years. Can't take a chance that Russia will use Kaspersky for it's own ends.
Lol i use it for that reason, i trust the us government much less than Russia.
I agree, it's absolute shit now. Can't trust anything in the hands of a terrorist
As always, these videos are never disappointing.
On another note, how do you collect these samples from the internet? Is there software, or is it manual work??
Kaspersky is the superior product everyday all day. Bitdefender is extremely buggy, UI is buggy, not alot of customization with Bitdefender for the price and uses an extreme amount of system memory upwards of 500mb-1.2gb + spawns 15 windows processes compared to Kasperskys 70-250mb of ram usage and 3 windows processes
Kaspersky is trash
@@TheHobbitmannBitdefender fanboy lmao
@@TheHobbitmann Wow what a well thought out comment. At least I provided reasons as to why I don't like bitdefender. Its factual that bitdefender is a resrouce hog when it comes to system useage compared to Kaspersky. Get mad though fanboy
@@nutellaguyau Omg haven't you heard? Kaspersky is in Russia and Russia bad! Oh no! We should trust other governments to not steal our data!!
KASPERSKY IS TRASH AND OVERRATED PRODUCT AND IS THE UNIQUE AV NO HAVE 64 BITS NATIVE.
No wonder KS often comes with fewer false positives. Its also impressive that KS uses less resources than BD and even WD itself.
Please do the same test for latest AVAST vs ESET
Avast you say 😂😂😂 aren't they the ones who were caught installing shit without your consent??? Oh wait that's right, CCleaner was caught installing AVG (different name, same shit) 😂
avast is junk i used it for years and switched to the free ver of bitdefended like 2 years ago!
bitdefender picked up viruses and i didn't even know were there when i was using advast
they weren't even false positives just not detected.....
Avast and AVG are no longer what they used to be
I would say this is a draw, or maybe a close victory by bitdefender due to more aggressive approach. Quite satisfied to have chosen bitdefender to replace kaspersky on my machines exactly 23 months ago.
Wow can't believe enigma apps are malware thanks for showing that as a malware sample
i still use Bitdefender but I run my browser in Sandboxie...at the end of the day I delete the sandbox. That way there is nothing left on my PC. Not even cookies.
Please review UltraAV and compare it to Kaspersky or Bitdefender.
Never saw a comparison between the two. Was interesting to see because I use Kaspersky and have used Bitdefender a few years ago. All in all, I think you're safe with either program, thank you, for sharing!
Very very helpful vid. Thank you!
Is it just me who kept saying "CASPER - SKY" this whole time in my mind?
Love your conent bro, really good information.
I use ESET Essential and Kaspersky Premium (subscribed to both).
Please create some video on phishing attacks for Kaspersky, BitDefender, ESET, Avast and Norton. Also please upload some video on AVG vs Malware.
Whats are the resources consumptions on both pcs when running the tests ?
Good test, thnx Leo!
Glad to see you here
@@Gateastrologykc Jip always watch his videos 🙂
@@jitechsolutions very close results like in your tests
@@Gateastrologykc Jip true as it always are with these 2 products
Oi hello JiTech, big fan of ya keep up the good work😊
I love Kaspersky but boy it's expensive, the 3 year plan bitdefender is cheaper than 1 year plan Kaspersky.
And the difference is really huge, for 3 years Kaspersky I need to pay for 5 times the price than bitdefender with the same period of time
Great test 👍. Thank you
this is what i have been waiting for
Hi. Do you recommend any windows debloaters and how do we use them without breaking windows when lowering the processes down to 50's or lower. example chris titus (advanced) or winpilot. Thanks in advance.
Very interesting.
Do you have the opportunity to test SentinelOne again?
It's been 4 years since the last test. I would be interested to know how SentinelOne behaves against 2k viruses.
So in other words, the usual answer for these 2.
Both are great, for a techy savvy user install kaspersky, for everyone else install bitdefender.
Nice, very well executed
Of the two, Kaspersky is lighter on resources. However, at least on my machine, it would cause Windows Updates to crash every once in a while. Although you can't go wrong with either product.
That's... never happened to me...? How would Kaspersky even be running if updates are being installed?
Some of my experience tells me that in that case Bitdefender is a better option than Kaspersky.
it is, Bitdefender has full real time protection both during install and in downloads
i love to see comparaison with products ! could you perform the same with Windows Defenders and one of the top 3 best free antivirus ?
Thanks for the video. I was just trying to figure out if I should get the Kaspersky premium since my license was coming to an end and was hoping that maybe there would be other security software that it was better but it looks like kaspersky still has it so I went ahead and renewed my license
