Great use of virtual production 👍 I would love to recreate it at our studio ❤ We also use Laser projectors for our videos but what you did here is really outstanding. I wonder what are your computer specs for the Unreal machine.
The ambitious project worked extremely well, congrats and well done! 🏆 Keep being ambitious and keep working with fabulously talented people and I believe you'll truly go far. 😁👍
That was so incredible! Y’all are all so talented, I am blown away! If this was a full length movie I’d watch it. I was totally caught off guard by Martina’s “skjera bagera” line 😂 it was perfect though! ♥️
Set extensions really can make the scope or your production look so much larger and hardly cost anything. I am a professional VFX artist and for the tiny US Indie horror/drama I was brought on to extend snow, make a desolate land scape and create glowing embers. Not something very complex for the bigger budget movies and TV series I’ve worked on. But this was a 10K production and VFX was 10% of that cost. So basically I had 6 shots so I’d to rush them out. I therefore did it all in 2D and still looks very convincing. With much more time I’d done it in 3D. And we got recognized by winning Best Movie and Best FX at NJ Horror Filmfest. Which was a great honor and luckily I happened to be in the states working on the series scorpion and I could be there (they’d won several prices already but I never was at a festival with them before). A funny detail that ties in with these guys. In the BTS the director explains to the executive producer that they’d found this Norwegian professional vfx artist that did the set extensions. I am Dutch 😂 not Norwegian 😂 This virtual production really makes things so much easier far less compositing. And you gave natural light wrap and reflections. The only thing is that you don’t have any control after the principle photography. So if your black and white levels and color temperature of the background is off, there’s no easy way to fix that. That’s the only drawback that I see. But it comes back to film making in the past that thing just had to be perfect during principle photography. And “not fix in post”. 😂
What a great collaboration! The end result is certainly topnotch 👏. But that “skjera bagera” 🤣. I can imagine Hansi and Martina using the short as their new introduction lol.
So im a professional filmmaker in the industry for about 8 years now. How the hell did it take 8 years to find you guys? Thats my favorite filmmaking channel atm! I love your insights and personalities! Soo sooo underrated, your channel should blow up to like 3million subs.
I have been following this channel for a year now, ever since Eskild was involved, and it has quickly become one of my favorite channels on the platform. It's truly amazing to witness how you guys consistently produce compelling content that keeps me hooked and coming back for more. As a filmmaker myself, I find it incredibly inspiring. I'm certain Eskild would be proud.
Finally, I understand some of the CG I watch so excitedly on fantasy films. Martina's castle has always been amazing. Seeing hey on hey own design was fantastic. How to see a lot more of these.
the daytime stuff looked really good Anders and team! Those fake battlements really brought it all together. The night stuff, I would have probably motivated the lighting more with just the practicals and not as much moonlight as that tends to look artificial. I know you were struggling with space too there so still looked decent. Great video as usual!
@@Andyax BTW, a neat trick for "practical" lights is to have a monitor on the camera side of the set, link that into the scene and place a fire into the virtual set "behind" the monitor. That fire's light will show up in the background, and that second monitor will throw it onto the actor, too. The image on the monitor can be really low-res, e.g. 160p, so it's cheap to render.
She looks so great, not only for her projects as builder and painter, but also as an actress. If she is a (main) character in a movie, I would watch it 😊
I have no idea how this ended up in my feed but I want to Sub you all!! That was absolutely fantastic! The handmade castle is every nerd's dream to make and have. You made the digital and video work look far easier than I'm positive it really is. The fabrication of realistic stone was perfect and putting it all together is just off the chains! You know those people that you see do something amazing and you say "God I wish I had a fingernail of their talent..."? Those people are you!
Absolutely fantastic, the artistry, technical skill, photography, lighting, models and props, but let's face it, it's Martina's beauty that brings the whole production to life.
That was just so amazing to watch it come together. Martina is such a beautiful woman and it was so satisfying seeing her being able to interact with many of her creations in a very "realistic" environment. Kudos to all of the production people that made it possible, from the lighting, camera, post work, props, and direction. Very nicely done!!
For a couple of years I've thought that if the film industry in northern Europe wasn't getting Nerdforge to make their miniatures, they were overlooking an amazing resource.
That is a dream come true and to witness how all of you fully appreciate it is moving. Like many I'm sure I always wanted to make an epic story to share, for example, mine came up in a series of dreams that picked up the next night where the other left off. An enhanced superhuman warrior, but alone for millennia surrounded by fantastic creatures and landscapes, and there is love, invention, War, separation and epic love returning, and more, many of the scenes in mind have never been seen before in movies, and even now are halfway written somewhere...I'm over a half-century old now and can only come to terms with at least having the satisfaction of being able to create something like that but only in my mind. I had a brain injury that messed me up a long time ago during my college years and lost my gift to visualize with such clarity, but at least I enjoy what amazing advances exist nowadays. Feel blessed because you can make fantasy a reality. Congratulations to all. I'm sure you will achieve blinding heights.
AHHHHH!!!! We have been huge fans of @nerdforge forever. This was mind blowing to watch everything come together like this. So impressive. We will be following the rest of you as well now. Best content!
So happy to see this. More collaborations with Nerd Forge please. This is awesome!!! Everything was spot on. I would love to see this project flesh out.
I don't know if you're ever going to read this, but your videos always give me hope. I struggle with depression and with that motivation to continue to 'make films' ..hardly. Your videos give such a wholesome, warm.. passion vibe but also the real life of a production company.. I love what you do and show, please continue creating for this channel
Andy I'm So Impressed by the Incredible Hollywood Grade Work you are doing!! This Project is Unbelievable Good!! I hope you can do a Full Feature Film using this Story and Techniques!! Im Beyond Proud and Amazed at what you have Accomplished in all the Years I've been following you since the Beginning 10 years ago!
This is very cool! This blurs the boundaries between the areas of application of the abilities of different people and allows you to create something new and incredible. You can also use some of the scanned elements made by someone else's hands to break them into parts and print them on a 3D printer, combine real objects and virtual ones, achieving even greater interpenetration of realities .... And for the record - Martina is Great! She is the meticulous Demiurge of Little Worlds! All of you are Awesome! One of the most inspiring things I've seen in years!
I am from a generation that was devoid of most/all of the technology used today. So I am fascinated with both the technology and technicians who have mastered its use and use it to create in all genres from medicine & science to communication and art. I found this fascinating, thank you.
The final result is amazing! This is essentially the same concept as "The Volume" at ILM. This technology at this scale will revolutionize digital effects for films on a super tight budget.
My life is now complete. And for poor Aarons sake, next time I’d recommend that you also collaborate with Alexandre Chappel! RUclipsr in Oslo with a proper workshop that would probably be down with making props or what you need, and I’d get to see more of my favourite Norwegians work together 😇
@@AaronWahab Ever since they locked you in the basement! At least after a couple of hours in it 😄 I say just contact the guy! The apartment is almost finished so he'll soon need some new fun project 😇 And please remember to smuggle me into that grand collab once it happens 😁
Haha no actually way before that! But we’ll have to see! But in all seriousness, the basement is great, just need to bring some more tools from the UK to be able to build better stuff. (But I do like showing what can be done with really basic tools too!)
Wow! This all is pretty badass! I've taken stage and set design in college. I'm loving how everyone contributed to this project. Love seeing the creative process behind the scenes. As a visual artist it's fun seeing all of the visual models and the way you went about filming it all. Great job! You've given me insight on how I can film a short film I have too.

That ending line Martina, shivers down my spine 😁
The catchphrase as the punch line 😂 I completely lost it.
Martina the movie star!
The blooper reel is funnier, hans climbing 😅.
Awesome Collab! 😊 Makes me want to try some virtual production with my minis :D
Hansi climbing the castle at the end was epic. Nothing stands in this mans way from getting to his princess. Video was super awesome. 10/10
Good thing she wasn't in another castle
Awww
This was such a fun project! Thanks so much for the collab! ❤
Love your work ✌️ I hope you will appear in more colabs in the future:)
man let me tell you this.. you're not awesome.. you're crazy awesome. I hope ill manage to possess this knowledge as much as you.

You shouldn´t have done it. Now I want more movies starring martina in her fantasy world. What an awesome project!
