One thing I noticed in your folder structure was that you had the date in the normal order and after the general folder name.
    Example: "Chemical processing plant 14.08.23"
If you flip the numbers (year first etc.) and put them at the beginning, you will always have your date marked folders first and in calendar order when sorting alphabetically. I would also use full years to avoid confusion and any Y2K type problems in 76 years.
Example: "2023.08.14 - Chemical Processing Plant"

Love the video! One thing that’s significantly sped up our workflow is using “compound clips” in Resolve. It’s been a real game changer for us. We use a pancake timeline method and then “compound” each clip with a keyboard shortcut we assigned. This gives us just one video and just one audio track to play around with (maintaining the audio and or video tracks safely inside it in a kind of meta data Russian nesting doll - if that makes sense).
Then when we reach the sound and color mixing stage we right click on the compound clips in batch and select “decompose” in place and get all those tracks back - super helpful with clips that have multiple mic tracks etc. Love the vid! Thanks for sharing!

You got me inspired to start documenting my own process in building a production company. You are still well underrated on youtube, for the value you provide.
Great job on the educational and insightful videos you put out there. To my surprise, except the shortcuts which are customized to our team's preferences, we are having quite a similar workflow.
I always start with a timeline where I do all my cuts and color code them. I found really useful the client part, to make a concrete contract with them. I have one client who asks for changes for every single video (they are reels for social media) and is super annoying. Gladly I managed to talk to the client and we agreed to new terms of the our collaboration to reduce the time waste in our production.
Thanks again for all your effort to educate fellow creators.

A really great, cheap and easy way of having tons of accessible shortcuts is using an MMO mouse like the G600. It has 12 buttons that can be doubled to 24 in functionality by holding the G-Shift button with your ring finger. And you can program and switch between as many modes as you want :D

I love this!!!!! I would love to hear more about the workflow between Davinci and After Effects. I personally struggle with this. I love doing everything in Davinci except graphics and animations. I'm still looking for the best way to Edit, Audio, Colorgrade then introduce my AfterEffects animations to the videos. I'm so happy to see your Production Company grow so much over the years. I've been a follower since forever. VJUS has been such an inspiration for me! What you guys do is pure magic!

There's a couple of good videos on RUclips that go into the differene between the two. I would link to them but RUclips will slap me down hard if I do.
      Search for:
      - "Should you use LAYERS or NODES for VFX?" by InLightVFX
      - "Nodes Are Better Than Layers" by Cassie Ferris
      - "Nodes Aren't Scary!" by ArthurYourFilm
I would love to see VJUS's take on this. I know they did a video on switching a while back but now that they've had a chance to adapt....

Excellent video. The technical aspects were beautiful, the edit was fantastic, the information was useful, efx were tasty. My only tiny hesitation was the pace of the information coming at us… I kept hoping for just a little b-roll break with no dialog, so that there was time to digest and store the points. Before my brain could say, “okay, next,” you were already speeding into the next topic. I didn’t want to miss anything! Just being picky though. You guys are not working on it anymore, you are a production company with an outstanding young team. Best to you all!

The overall workflow explained in the video was amazing, I loved it. ❤But one thing in the beginning and end was bothering me a lot being a cinematographer, so i wanted to share that with you. The key light on your right side of face was burning out way too much. If it was diffused a little bit more there could have been gradual fall off on your face. I obviously don't know the circumstances and in what time crunch you were shooting but just wanted to share this info with you. 😊❤

Enjoyed the videos thanks. But I dont think you need to number your folders though. The names by themselves are fine since they describe the contents. You have few enough folders that your people will see them "all at once" and wil know where to put there stuff. Numbered folders are something people think they need ...

Instead of Fusion, what about Nuke? Would that be a good fit for you?
A free alternative to that is Natron. They look and behave *mostly* the same, though I'm not sure exactly what customization and pipeline things you can do there vs Nuke.
I'm not much of a Fusion fan, after using Nuke it's just not the same feel. :D

I think I have got you confused with someone else. But I thought the last vide I watched of yours was that after the break in at your studio and all your equipment was stolen. After people were generous and helped you get replacement gear, you tried to carry on. But it became about running a business, not what you loved doing. I was saddened, as you were really inspiring.

It's not the first time you say, that After Effects is more powerful than Fusion.
It's maybe easier to do some text effects in AE, but Fusion is a far better compositor. The more complex, the better it is to use Fusion or Nuke. Saying Fusion isn't great fir complex work, is like saying the same about Nuke.
It's simply your skills in the software, that isn't there yet. Don't blame the software!
