Perry Saturn has been great on here all week blessed to see all from 1980-Now what a life of wrestling
I love listening to Perry talk about his wrestling style, you can really tell he always saw it as a sport, and didn't mind making it real and taking it real. I wish more guys still had this mindset, the matches would get better again.
Dude had the best move set I’ve ever seen. There was no silly bullshit. Awesome suplex variations like Taz. Awesome high flyer. Legit martial artist. Amateur style pinning combinations.
Everything looked painful. Saturn was amazing in the ring.
I'm loving these Perry videos , I'm actually learning new things , very rare
Great to see perry saturn came back from the dead. Always liked his wrestling style. Very crisp in the ring. A true badass. Not because of what he was before, a ranger, but from what he came back from. Gives us wretches hope.
Perry grew a Dutch mantel mustachio for the interview
Looks like he cut a hillbillly Jim beard into a Dirty Dutchman for whatever show he’s at lol
I always felt the nail in WCWs coffin was the radicalz jumping to WWE. They all lost a lot of money too. Benoit took a 400k paycut to jump.
Putting the belt on Benoit on his way out the door didn't do them any favors either.
It was the merger... it's been 25 years and it's common wrestling knowledge
@@rmcdudmk212 Chris Benoit vs Daniel Bryan would have been an amazing badass match 😊
@@TheSophisticatedSavagethe merger didn't happen until WCE went into the tank. They went into the Tank after the Radicals left. That's common knowledge.
They never drew a dime
Someone like Perry was better suited to the longer matches of today rather than the in and out style they had. Let's face it, the wrestling when you include EVERYONE wasn't amazing.
Loved his suplex variations... oh and he was a great moveset in the games lol
Dream faction war would have been 97 Hart Foundation vs Radicalz.
I'm mad about Brian's persona cuz i liked Too Cool back then. Their 5on5 match against Radicalz and DX is brilliant.
Wow!! I didn't even recognize him. He looks so different. Glad you had him on!
I thought they should've used Perry like a ground fighter with his Ranger training and have him like that he is in shape and looked like he could've fought in the octagon
It's good to see Perry
RIP Moppy. Gone but not forgotten. 😢
That angle made us all feel genuine emotions 😂
We miss you Perry! Keep coming back
Tyson and Saturn should host a podcast together 👀🔥
Saturn, Benoit, and Malenko were amazing to watch.
More Perry please!
I will always remember the match in WCW when Benoit put Perry on a table outside the ring and frog splashed him off the top and the table didn’t break. Both guys just bounced off the table and fell to the floor. Pretty sure Perry was hurt pretty bad. Benoit at least broke a few ribs. They immediately went to commercial if I remember correctly…
Speaking of that bunch, Saturn, Benoit, Malenko and Guerrero, it was disgusting when mike graham said "I called them 'the midgets'". He was FIVE FOOT EIGHT. Shorter than all of them and all of them could have whipped him. Im sorry he offed himself, but he was such a malcontent and sociopath. Yeah he was a decent amateur wrestler, but if his father didnt own the company no one would know he was and he wouldve been manager of a Burger King somewhere.
I get a feeling that a lot of that “midget”/“vanilla midget” stuff was a byproduct of some realizing that the “midgets” (jacked guys of average to slightly below average height who could twist most people into a pretzel) were more impressive performers in the ring than many of the larger dudes. So, they just found something that they had an advantage over them in, natural size, and harped on it to soften the blow to their egos.
@@cmdc778 Thats exactly it..and the 'vanilla' thing came from Kevin Nash, who thinks saying someone else is 'vanilla' detracts from him being lily white himself. Hes one of those whose essentially a child, in that he always has to find a way or reason that something about someone makes them inferior to him. Its really sad.
You have to understand Mike graham came from the old school, I’m condoning what he said but for whatever reason he had a lot of ill will towards Benoit for Nancy. Sullivan was his best friend, so it’s deeply rooted in that. Mike was a hell of an amateur in Florida, just never got out of his fathers shadow
@@durden2480 I think you meant to say youre 'not condoning'. Also, the reason he was so bitter towards them had nothing to do with Woman. Its bc they were small guys who made it and he wasnt. It wasnt his 'fathers shadow' that kept him from any success as a wrestler but his entitlement. Sullivan kept him in WCW out of respect for his father. Otherwise he wouldnt have had a job. If you knew Mike Graham the man and not Mike Graham the wrestler you like, you'd stop liking him, too, trust me.
Back in the territory days , every area had its own twist on Pro Wrestling. Some were really mat based , some were more brawl oriented. It’s become quite a bit more homogenized now .
"if you stiff somebody, they forget all the times they were stiff" I like that, So fucking true.
They should have Perry do a guest spot at NXT. Im sure his storys and dos and donts would be well worth it to the young wrestlers
Perry Saturn vs Taz Dream Match
Is James filming these from a convention? Just got random people walking around behind him lol
Someone needs to make a Saturn highlight reel set to SZA' song "Saturn" lol
how about a Perry Saturn figure
0:21 Three clotheslines
Jericho's problem adjusting to the WWF style according to his own book was he was used to working stiff from Japan
Foley had warned him he didn't mind because he'd worked a lot in Japan but that the rest of the roster wouldn't like it at all
Him potatoeing Chyna as a receipt to her and Hunters treatment didnt help as they ran to vince to whine about Jericho
Saturn sounds like his brain is fried, but a miracle he's even still alive.
He disappeared and lived on the streets for years apparently.
Probably the best mid-carder in WCW, and a hell of a unique style, with all his suplexes.
I think the way he speaks is more a product of how he grew up. He's really quick and remembers everything in detail
@@DTA707 still has a better memory than Bischoff
Saturn still seems pretty sharp to me. He has the slurred speech if that's what you're referring to. Probably on account of the lack of teeth.
He's fine he just doesnt have any teeth.
A shoot fight between Benoit and Scott Steiner would have been worth seeing
Steiner would have beat some sense into that rabid ferret
@@kazman_6899nonsense
A legit shoot? Steiner would fucking obliterate him.
He's talking about Chris Jericho, it was Jericho that choked out Goldberg because Jericho was trying to talk him through a match but Goldberg wasn't listening and thought because he was bigger he could intimidate Jericho so Jericho choked him out backstage in front of everyone, and it was 1999 Spring Breakout Jericho fought Steiner
@@syetemaskm7706 doesn't matter, Benoit or Jericho, Steiner would fucking beat the hell out out of both of them no problem.
Im not believing scott couldnt knock chris about. I know perry is old friends with jericho but steiner was a real tough guy muscles or not.
Did Saturn loose his teeth?
jericho never choked out Goldberg. Also i never saw him as main event material. He was fine as midcarder like Edge
🤣
@@bofo2323ify Jericho even admitted he caught goldberg in facelock and held on for dear life because he knew what would happen if he let it go.
Psychology? Bigger ring. That's all. It makes smaller guys look smaller. Impressionable ropes, hard mat...
The wwf guys didnt like the way the wcw guys wrestled when they came in. So there was differences
Scott will destroy Chris in a shoot…
don't be so sure on that..lots of tough people were never college or school tough guys
I still love Chris Benoit till this day. I don't believe he killed his wife or child. He was framed!
The more you look into the case the more it just doesn't add up.
Please stop with conspiracy theories I know it's hard for you to accept I was a fan of him too but he did it enough of the b******* and people need to stop asking why? it doesn't even matter and you won't get a simple straight answer anyhow it was a horrible act and you can't change what was done that's it
@@DTA707 no killing your wife and child doesn't add up nobody can understand and contemplate this horrific act because it's beyond our understanding think what it was like for his peers who travelled and worked with him it was more of a shock to them we'll never know I'm sure there's several reasons why but it doesn't excuse it probably had CTE he was using steroids that would more than likely f*** up his head it was having problems with his marriage plus he death of Eddie Guerrero and other colleagues all these things are a lethal combustion
@@brianshields7485thank you
@@brianshields7485 I agree there's alot of former wrestlers and football players with CTE. I've only heard of few that committed suicide without murdering the rest of their family. It was a huge act of cowardice in my mind. There is absolutely no excuse for what he did. He put his 5 year old in a crossface...enough said....SMH
