      Atleast Stevie doesn’t paint himself as a misunderstood genius, that definitely should have been a big star.

    Jericho has talked about this. He pretty much said if your gonna go and complain about an idea then you better have another or better idea to pitch to Vince.

    Reminds me of the story about Curtis Axel in developmental; Vince came in to see the new recruits, and as he was walking up and down the line speaking to them, he purposefully stepped on Curtis' toes each time he passed by him just to see if Curtis would do anything about it, speak up, or confront him.
    Curtis did nothing, so apparently that's the point when Vince was convinced he didn't have what it takes to be a star.

    Apparently, Austin said to McMahon once, “I’m just not the ringmaster” and Vince replied, “ok…who are you then?”

    here's a bothersome VKM story. Years ago i remember seeing Stephanie Mcmahon vignettes backstage where she was oiled up bending over a desk and showing her stuff, then years later i believe it was a recent francine shoot where she described exactly what Steph was doing as the the advice someone gave her of how to really win Vince over (i.e. stimulate him visually). A little bit strange, no?

      Yep, Dark Side of the Ring. I believe it was Terri Runnels who said that. I thought the same thing when she said it. Pretty disturbing

    Vince only listened to talent ideas when he was basically on the ropes. If WCW doesn’t launch Nitro in 1995 and start poaching WWF talent, Stone Cold and the Rock don’t happen. Vince would have carried on with cartoon and occupational gimmicks aimed at little kids because he wanted to be Disney. He knew that unless he started targeting the key demo, he was done. Two things he always had on WCW were production value and continuity. WCW struggled with both. So once he decided to go all in with the late 90s culture, WWF took off. At least HHH comes from that era and understands why that was successful. He’ll have more freedom on Netflix.

      He was the leader of the Right To Censor (RTC) stable. It was Vince's way of criticizing real censorship from the networks that was hindering his Attitude Era momentum. To pick Stevie for that role probably meant Vince had trusted Stevie to be head of a faction that meant something to Vince at the time. Granted, it wasn't a push to the top, but it's still pretty relevant.

    • @TVindustries5000
      @TVindustries5000 2 дня назад

      Yeah RTC wasnt huge, but stevie was picked to lead it and it was a good group for fodder with a lot of the roster

    Austin had the guts/self confidence/willingness to gamble. A lot of people, including Stevie, like to rely on the old nonsense about smooching butt and politicking and being cutthroat.
