This is the kitchen of dreams. I can understand how it must feel unreal to call this your own after years of crappy (German) rental kitchens. I love love love your glassware cabinet and the teapot drawer is something I am going to fantasize about. I love the wood in combination with the terrazzo. Just on the side of the huge window, I feel like the terrazzo is a bit dominant.
I think the storage would have brought some nice warmth if it were oak like the cabinets but honestly I think it is a statement to keep the terrazzo as a sculptural moment

So much to love: your doors!, your dimmable lights, a drawer for bowls, and your kitchen. Wow! Loved seeing the older pictures of you and I do remember your places in Berlin. I remember how you would take us to the vegan restaurants they had there. But, this new place is a home. Congratulations!

Stunning. That is a beautiful kitchen. So calm and classy. Personally I wouldn't clutter the balcony. The symmetry is so pleasing. The dining table is so close to the balcony I would just eat there with the balcony doors open and leave the balcony as it is. I do approve of a small tree though. That's a lovely idea
I've rediscovered your RUclips videos and I'm so glad I did! I was here when you didn't have eyebrows, had short hair and when you made the move to London. I remember you and David sitting and chatting over oatmeal and making tea in big IKEA mugs. I'm so glad to be here again

I love the glassware cabinet! I love my glassware so much (an eclectic gathering of memories and heirlooms along with luxurious splurges on matching sets) that I took the cabinet off so they're on full display all the time

My husband and me have been renting our whole marriage (13 years) and have moved 8 times in that time too 😮 we've bought our first home this year and get to just rest and enjoy making this place ours too 😊 it's such a great feeling isn't it! Also I love your kitchen! I design kitchens as a job so can't wait to transform ours too 😊

This is beautiful, especially the little vignette with the three dimmable kithcen lights.
I’ve renovated two kitchens now; one in my old flat and now one in my house.
The first one I did very “neoclassical” and tried to remain true throughout the whole apartment to what would have been the original style, had it not been all torn down during its “renovation” in the 1970’s. But while I loved it, it never truly felt like my style. The kitchen had a gigantic granite slab that was beautiful, but it was very “black and white” because of the sharp contrasts.
In our new house, an old farmhouse from 1902, we’ve decided to keep the bones of the house intact but done a complete Japandi-style renovation inside (I’m Danish and I’ve always found that Japanese people and Scandi people have a similar mindset when it comes to our houses - we love it when it’s beautifully crafted, honours the materials and workmanship and it has to last). My only demand was to have the kitchen of my dreams; and I got it! We’ve also chosen oak and a thin natural stone greige countertop, but it just works so well! It’s also very big because I prioritised it to be; our kitchen takes up around 1/3 of the house, but I’ve always found that I spend more than 1/3 of my time in my kitchen anyway, even when I have guests and parties - so I basically wanted all the things I didn’t have space for in my old flat, haha!

Oh Jenny, you look so happy! The kitchen is beautiful, it is quite different from what I thought you would opt for, but absolutely beautiful! The feeling of having a kitchen that is both stunning and practical is unbeatable. For me a thrifted aluminium modular kitchen by Dada - the Quadrante by Ferruccio Laviani - in mint conditions was a godsend.
I renovated my flat during the same period of time and I too had to change my mind and choose small white tiles (for the bathroom in my case), as an ode to the old bathroom. We even went smaller, from 20 cm to 10 cm. They create a cool contrast with the massive semi mat black tiles on the floor. Totally different vibes from yours though.
PS A massive alocasia would look so good in that corner

Induction cook tops? Yes! I loved mine. Sold that with the house. The new house has gas and I am reminded why i replaced that with induction in our last house.🙄

WOW! It is sooo beautiful Jenny!! I love your kitchen, dining, balcony guys! You have done a brilliant work! 💕 The balcony is JUST AMAZING! I love the chairs and the symmetry! as for a table outside, you could maybe leave it the way it is, as it looks so pretty from inside the windows, plus you have the dining table a few meters away from the balcony, so you can still get the effect of eating outdoors in the summer months, with the doors open! I worry that the balcony will get crowded otherwise and now is just perfect! You will see what works best! You have a great taste after all!
