I felt worried that Myles Kennedy's association with Slash would help this band to become overexposed and overly popular, but thankfully that hasn't been the case at all. Besides, people only bought Slash's solo records because of Slash himself anyway.
DW'89Music What you can't like music that becomes too popular? Is attention bad for a band? Cause I'm sure AB would love as much exposure as they can get.
Cause then there would be more of a pressure on the band to appeal to the masses of fans. Which would most likely result in more mainstream radio shtuffs. I too personally think that this band is perfect where they are now. but that is my opinion.
Great interview. Have met Myles a few times backstage, great guy, very personable. He listens intently when speaking with him. So impressed with him & Tremonti, as human beings, more than musicians.
He doesn't act like a typical "celebrity" at all. Completely down-to-earth, kind, generous, nice, straight-forward "regular" guy. What a great person (in addition to being one of the best rock vocalists of all time).
This was genuinely one of the best interviews I've ever watched. The back and forth and quick witted quips between these two makes it so enjoyable to watch. Myles is such a light hearted and genuine guy, such a big heart. 10/10 would watch again!
I'm so impressed with this interviewer. He is so professional, easy going, and approaches divisive topics with respect. He also lets his guest shine by being more interested than interesting.
Man, I can tell from the slight twang in his voice right away that he is a true rock singer in every way. Incredible voice and vocal control all the way through, and not to mention a fantastic, tasteful guitar player as well. A rare talent to the core!
wow, the whole ringing in my ear thing happened to me too, i'm a photographer and i work in the front line at concerts, so yeah, my right ear constantly rings. And i've been depressed too. I still am, you don't get out of it so easily. It's been kinda of an emotional rollercoaster for the past 3 years. But music saves lives, and I think that Myles Kennedy is the perfect example for it. I'll never stop admiring this man, his resilience, his talent aaaaaand pretty much everything. Wow, i feel so much less alone now.
Plant does not have a particularly deep voice, you can hear his between song chatter on Zeppelin live footage. Axl Rose has a very deep voice and I remember being struck by the contrast between his normal speaking voice and his singing voice when I first heard him interviewed.
Voice type determines the timbre of the speaking voice more than the pitch of the speaking voice. His speaking voice is average in where it is placed on the spectrum of pitch but is bright, as tenor voices should be (relative to other voice types).
This sticks with me because I run into so many people who want fences in music: "Not all the fans appreciated that, because religion and politics ... you just don't talk about that. But at the same time, someone who creates and writes, you have to be honest about the way you're feeling." Very candid interview, excellent showing Myles.
Good Lord, such a down to earth guy, with a beautiful voice, and probably good looking to many women. How in the hell did Alter Bridge not hit it big???
Lol the funny part is the rest of America when he says it like that thinks he's doing a good accent. Being from mass myself I can say he did a terrible job pronouncing it with the accent 😂😂😂 but mass represent Myles 😎🤘🤘🤘🤘
I met Alter Bridge in April this year & also saw them live... Myles is the biggest sweetheart & is extremely humble too. His lyrics have helped me get through so much shit & I don't know where I'd I be without Alter Bridge... I said to him his music got me through some really dark times & from the bottom of my heart thank you so much. He said thank you so much man :) Alter Bridge were amazing live & Myles kept smiling at me through out the show & same with Mark too :) Best concert experience I have ever had :)
I love the fact that when it's a Mark interview or a Myles interview talking about AB the other is not far away. I've seen it in other interviews and it makes me happy. Not only are they just bandmates but they are good friends as well 🤘
This guy is an amazing singer...I don't care too much for his music but as a person he seems like a great dude...I can identify with a lot of the things he has written about personally. Great interview.
Fun, but wrong fact. Myles Kennedy's vocal range is 4 octaves, not 11. No human in this planet can sing 11 octaves. Mariah Carey, Axl Rose and Mike Patton are little above 5 octaves, being the professional singers with the widest vocal range ever registered.
@@timyarber9936 Didn't know him. I was talking about proffesional singers. I think the world record of the widest vocal range of any human is 10 octaves, earned by Tim Storms of the US.
I can t stop thinking of how handsome this man is...like wow...look at those eyes...he s just perfect haha thanks for the video it s amazing! Myles is just forever my last hero
I've had tinnitus since I was an infant. To be honest, listening to something, anything, always helps. Ive been 60/90% deaf since birth. Anyone wondering how to combat it can message me, I'm happy to help. I regularly play guitar and drums. Obviously I had to pick hobbies that help the ringing!
Myles, you are so extremely humble and candid. So much respect, I would love to meet you if you're ever in Oregon. P.S. Been a fan since Blackbird (first I heard of the band)
What I love so much about this segment is that those who have not done any interviews with Graham start out a little dismissive and nervous even about it, but they eventually love the kid and realize they love the segment. Those who have done this segment multiple times love doing it again too.
In Rockstar Mark Wahlberg gets the feeling that the lifestyle just isn't for him anymore and pulls Miles on stage to finish the set. It's kind of ironic that Miles felt the same way in real life about the party lifestyle
I completely disagree in regards to earplugs. Wearing ear protection might bring the loudness of the show down, but it makes it so much clearer to hear, especially with vocals. I always wear them at shows now, because it makes the experience better.
Idk dude, I'm with Myles on this one. It's way harder for me to hear myself or enjoy the show with earplugs in. I'm investing in some better ones since I'm playing way more frequently now but they still bug me
So true about the hearing! I put a scorching sound system in my first car in high school, and I am sure a lot of my hearing loss is because of that, not to mention all the concerts I went to. It was worth it :)
Love Myles! Dude is so humble and down to earth. Amazing lyricist, singer and guitarist. If no one has heard Save Me by AB on the Elektra soundtrack, it's absolutely his best vocal work.
What's interesting is how he talks about ABIII as such a dark record....yes there are darker songs but there are plenty of uplifting ones as well, ie Breathe Again, Life Must Go On, Wonderful Life, Words Darker Than Their Wings (somewhat dark but overall a positive vibe). I guess it's in your perspective and where you come from with everything. Something written from a dark place can actually turn out to be a light somewhere.
Tinnitus is no joke man. I developed it from shooting without ear pro like a dumb dick. That constant “eeeeeeeee” when everything is quiet was maddening. Listening to music with earbuds in really really helped alleviate the ringing.
Awesome interview! Up there with the Amy Lee interview in terms of 👌. It just feels like a chill natural conversation and that's my favorite kind of musician interview. Never knew that stuff about ABIII. Always been about the sound of vocals to me moreso than lyrics, but I'm gonna have a listen and read. Escaping the Catholic Church and using my own observations to come to the conclusion that life itself is the result of chemistry and time with a healthy pinch of luck has been incredibly liberating. There's still plenty of good to do in this world, and one's faith shouldn't have any bearing on whether they have morals or not. Respect, block out the haters.

Myles seems like the coolest nicest frontman out there. Amazing singer and guitar player.
The Sun Burns Bright he is a super nice and kind guy
One of the nicest people in rock and roll.
I love that Mark is just there. Like wherever Mark goes he just carries Myles in a briefcase
Lol yep and occasionally passes off the briefcase to Slash.
🤣
That was dope... 😂😂😂
interviewing Myles with Mark Tremonti just off camera..talk about an immense amount of talent in one room.
Mark is a quiet beast of a musician
Myles is one of my favorite singers
