Jonesey “we cant swear” that still makes me laugh. He used to swear like a trooper.
For me, the star of every interview is Steve Jones...Please put this man on the BBC..
I have rarely seen him in such a great mood doing interviews. He is always nice and respectful, but talking to a peer or rather hero of his, he can totally let go of all tension, just like talking to a buddy. Really great to see! Superb job!
His interview with Nikki Sixx on the last Sixx Sense show was great. Very much buddies talking.
@@mack98ification, must check that out. I found Slash's take on the early days of Motley Crue, as told in his autobiography, really interesting so I reckon any chat between them would be worth the listen.
Yes if you get a chance you should watch it. Easy flow and a please to watch. Nikki was always a good interviewer because he never made it uncomfortable with stupid questions.
@@mack98ification listened to it last night. Thanks for the recommendation it was awesome! Only wish it was longer but otherwise it was great. Nikki totally surprised me though. I never realised I've only ever "read" him; never heard him before and his voice surprises me. He was cool though 👍
Glad you got to hear it! Yes, when I found Sixx Sense, his radio show, I was totally taken by his radio voice. You tube has a lot of other Sixx Sense interviews. They are good. And I agree, the Slash interview could have been longer. I could listen to them all day. Lol.
Cant tell if slash ever ages. He's made of awesome hair sunglasses and a hat.
look at their recent live concerts, it's evident
Slash is great. There's no way you wouldn't recognize him if you'd been locked in a room since 1987 & he came to get you out !
Loved the guitar talk! Always something interesting in Jonsey’s interviews. Unpredictably great!
I love Jonesy's show. Down to earth and funny as at times. Gets people talking their reality so you get something interesting to hear instead of a fake show.
That felt so short .... totally enjoyed that .... get him on again geeza
So glad he got sober. Seems like a really good dude.
Just an awesome interview!
Love this show - two pals hanging out and varied chilled questions
Jonesy really brings out the best from every guest he brings on the show. ❤️
I wish I was Slash's friend. What a cool guy!
Loved this interview, which was really two friends getting together. Those are always the best.
It's weird now Slash is talking good about AXL so happy that he is
Great stuff, cheers Slash n Steve
Sal always does good interviews.
So laid back, so enjoyable, thanks
slash seem s like a really nice guy!!and a fantastic guitar player!!jonesy...really funny on his instagram and also a great guitar player!and i also love the radio show!c mmon kid s!
always great stories on the jukebox
.
*Random stuff* back in the 60's my Mums cousins went to see Eric Clapton Play before he got famous, they got talking to him and he asked if he and a couple of others could get a lift from them up to Manchester where they were playing the night after, as they lived in Oldham near Manchester, as we all still do now, they said yes, they spent the night sleeping on the floor in their house, and i seem to remember one of them said she woke up in the middle of the night and Roger Daltrey was sprawled out on the end of her bed. just another day in the life of my family lol.
Sure
Bolan’s Les Paul was a mid 50’s to late 50’s ( I think 1959) stripped Gibson Les Paul Gold Top which originally had a bigsby ( you can see the snake bit marks on the guitar when it was stripped) the Gibson Custom neck was put on the guitar after the guitar had gone through a few Gibson Les Paul Standard neck replacements ( one of the necks Bolan had was a non Gibson neck - as it had a standard headstock and block inlays) plus one of the replacement necks had one of the inlays missing past the twelfth fret..... the guitar was stolen from out side a rehearsal room in Waterloo London..
Irony - The guy who gets famous , partly for swearing on live British TV in 1977 as a youngster guest is now on the other side of the stick
yeah fuck him
when he was a teenager being their every day self in a band first time on tv & defending themselves against a drunk interviewer Now it's no swearing rule from station he works for it's not his rules ffs he has to keep a job wise up Yankee fools eh! can't wait for the childish replys I get for this trying to prove I'm wrong etc you can't because I'm not hahahaha
Except he's not asking a teenage girl to meet him after the show.
@wildcatter63 Since the mid 50s (ITV). They then got channel 4 in the early 80s and channel 5 in the late 80s/early 90s. All terrestrial.
Sorry for being a Dick, but it was 1976
Good one Jonesy !
Slash is cool, a true rock dude. The guy's worth about 30 million bucks and still wants to play and make records and play the clubs. He doesn't give a shit what anybody says or what they think. He just wants to play. Hats off to you Slash, livin' the life man!
Worth a bit more than that I think 🤔 When you're that successful you can dictate where you want to play. Once you have done huge stadium tours etc I suspect small gigs are better fun and financially not too important?
30 million is sad think about it appetite sold 30 million world wide x that by 13 u do the math thats not including his other album sales
and amost always only wear converse CT :LOL
I've seen an article where it was said he's actually worth 90 million $ (with Axl being worth 200 million).
@ha mad Yeah, hard to believe, I know :)))
Two really lovely human beings!
Awesome Steve! U.K woz ere!
Put Steve on Sirius
Great show
Super super, cool stuff ....
Slash dont age ..:) and another great jonesy interview
Dig Steve and as a fellow Brit in recovery respect him addressing our shared obsession for class A drugs and liquor. I'm 20 yrs clean and love how he is honest enough to say its still a struggle for him even though he has more clean time than me. He's a mensch. As we say here in uk he's a diamond geezer. Also a badass gunslinger! Great chemistry with Slash who def respects SJ. It shows bigtime here...
strictlynorton ... Slash born in Stoke!
Top blokes,,jonsey could have a prime time spot on national t.v... never happen thou ,to real and honest..yerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Excellent work, love the both of them.
Great as usual! Can you bring Kim Thayil, please?
Bill Grudy has possessed Slash for this interview
anyone noticed the MASSIVE throw out in 6:36. ''where you a ..big fan of... eddie? BERP!'' LOL
ya gotta love Steve Jones ,totally unpretentious and a true visceral Rocker.
two legend
this is brilliant :)
Why is it so sexy when they talk about guitars? This is a good conversation. Jonsey and Slash. What a good convergence.
Because you are gay. That is why. Not there is anything wrong with that...
@@69zenos1 So a woman who thinks two men talking about guitars are sexy is gay? Weird perception, but nothing wrong with that . . .
Two nice blokes chatting away great stuff
Saw SJ play a couple of songs with Aerosmith at the LA forum in 90.Rocked♠️
I love happy slash
Jonesy and Slash, yeah my favourite song one is November Rain.Lots of songs Sol 🐋⚘
Make sence. I remember the time you played on stage with Steve and a gang, they detuned your guitar.
I thought that was low...you made a good recovery.lol yeah 😎
Go for it hope see you here in S.A
Would love to hear them play together.
This guy is awesome
how you doing! exactly like that guy from friends aha
ps awesome video!
Melbourne Florida!
- You can’t cuss on here
- Oh f..
He's clearly doing it on purpose just because he got told not to. Lol
Wish this was longer to be honest ahahah too good for it to be short
6:37 that burp though :D
haha yeah and jonesy's reaction
Great dudes...👍👍👍☠☠❤❤
Saul is a hecking cool name!
Is that guy the rock n roll butler from the show 'californication'
slash. nice guy
Brisbane Slash hahaha, remembered Gold Coast though... Awesome.
This guy was on Californication !!!
Im glad Steve Jones is doin ok. Hell of a guitar player. Lit many fires in people back in the late 70s, me included.
Jonesy trying his hardest not to swear is hilarious!
nice interview,so chill.Slash, best definition of Clapton ever, adult note perfect blues. But not that exciting as a kid in the 70s loving punk and the metal breaking out!
Page has 2 main Les Pauls, then a bunch of copies of his originals. 1 is a '58 and 1 is a '59. He has the necks shaved down really thin and has push-pull pots for different pick up combos plus phasing and options for series and parallel wiring. They're pretty tricked out.
You guys should have jammed would have been sweet jonsey rhythm some tasty slash leads next time please 😎🇬🇧👍❤️
“good heavens!” - Bill Grundy
These two rockers remind me of myself.
Kind Regards,
Mr. Bobble Head
It would be Interesting to find out out how many guitars and money Slash traded for the Gibson sunburst 59? are they over 1 million bucks now????
In a different Timeline, Slash would've took his place among the Funkadelic masters, carriers-on of Jimi's legacy.Love his solo work and sideline contributions.
Slash Rules !!! #gnr
I'd love it if he could have Reeves Gabrel and Budgie on the show.
Im sure Reeves would have some great anecdotes relating to Bowie and Budgie would be absolutely amazing. Budgie is a massively underrated drummer. I don't think he had any falling out with Steve when he was recording with the Banshees? I know he's said in his book he was never into Siouxsie so nothing went on. One of the the best Banshees tracks, Paradise Place was a Jonesey riff/song. Hugh Cornwell or Jean Jaques Brunel would be 2other great guests
Jonesy
ROFL @21:16 - Jonesy looks at the camera, as if to say, "I can control my swearingg as opposed to my guest!"
😂😂😂 I read this right as he did that
Jonesy would be great on a record with Slash doing the leads.
You should have Rick Derringer in there!
Slash and Jonesy are so funny LMFAO
GOOD STUFF SIRS 🤘 been listening to GnR since '87..saw them open for Iron Maiden in toronto after Appetite came out... yes I'm bragging 😜 ....btw the only dudes cooler than Slash (on planet earth) are Jonesy & Keith Richards.... I would kill to see Jonesy interview Keef !! 🎸
When they were talking about Firebirds I expected Steve to mention the Firebird III he had at Winterland '78 which wouldn't stay in tune. Blame those old style banjo tuners.
Aside from all his great songs and bands... I like my Rock Stars cooooool as fuck and Slash fits the bill perfect
Top crooners ;-)
I gotta tell ya that Appetite For Destruction is one of the most bleepn ballsy rock albums ever! F--- yeah!
Great band. Too bad all the songs are ruined by incessant “high-eee-yigh-eee-eye-eee-yigh-eee”. I swear I hate their vocalist with a passion.
thanks ...i figured that out in '87 😉😄
Oh really. Hmm . Howd i miss that!!
What band?? Who ... when what where? All done here
@MrBrenman21 seen em in 92 today Axle sounds like Mickey Mouse
ROCKERZ
Hes a Bill Grundy with a good heart . Number 2
Steve is Rock and Fucking Roll.
Can anyone help me please?
does slash ever take them shades off
"Gauuuuuloiiiiiiise" ahah love jonesy !
Jonesy!! Please interview Kraftwerk, New Order, The Sundays, Cocteau Twins, Echo and the Bunnymen, Jesus and Mary Chain, The Cure, Johnny Marr, Radiohead, The Chameleons, The Comsat Angels...
What, all at once ?
Boudosaved and happy Mondays..
You forgot Wire, My Bloody Valentine, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Cornershop, Inspiral Carpets, Teenage Fanclub and of course Swell Maps.
True, and Slowdive, Ride, BJM, TFF, Stone Roses...
Happy Mondays Paul Ryder even lives in LA...
What year is it Slash?
sorry amigo... hes a bit busy selling out arenas and buying vintage guitars to give a fuck
angry ranger when your in a band that has timeless music the year or decade isn't really relevant anymore.
Well, this year he is the best guitar player in the world!
Slash mentioning the days of Poodle Rock.
I do remember a lot of very bad videos --- noodling with hair dryers.... Funny!
:0)
Does Jonesy feel empathy for Mr Grundy now then? 😂
Grundy deserved it. He encouraged it rather than be professional and just apologise he blatantly asked them to swear even more. Silly bastard should have not been pissed
firebird sounds like a les paul, that s cool
Why are these videos always so quiet??? You can barely understand them
Steve Jones as the host telling the guest not to swear - the irony!
this Aussie says "same" world, Jonesy, done differently
listening to him you'd forget hes from bradford
I'm not sure vaping can be considered worse than cigarettes, given how many chemicals are in vape liquid vs burned tobacco. But there is ongoing studies on these things so the jury is out...
Slash thinks it's the Bill Grundy show.
haha
Wot a fuckin rotter!
"Go on, you've got another 5 seconds... Say something outrageous." 🤣
Fuck.
Whats that?
A rude word!
...next question.

Why was Slash only on for a very short time, must have been the Shortest Jukebox ever?! 🤔😒
Yeah it was awful short. I want a see Slash n Steve talk for hours & hours about whatever hits their mind :) #gnralways
I like Slash" read his autobiography ! Yes it is ironic Jonesy the antisocial Pistol, and now suggesting Slash does not swear on his show !
