John Gibbons is a registered Osteopath, Lecturer and Multi-Published Author and is demonstrating how to apply Kinesiology Tape to assist in heel pain or plantar fasciitis. This tape is also great for conditions like; anterior knee pain, chondro-malacia patella, patellofemoral pain syndrome, mal-tracking, osgood schlatters, jumpers knee, bursitis plus many more.
Some of these techniques are taught on the Kinesiology Taping course at Core Elements in Swindon and all details on the website.
John also has Hip videos and he discusses an acetabular labral tear and also a femoroacetabular impingement called an FAI - these are cam and pincer type of impingement. He also mentions perthes disease and osteoarthritis of the hip joint. John also discusses how the hip flexors (psoas) are involved and the iliofemoral ligaments and how they cause an inhibition to the gluteus maximus (Gmax) through the hip extension firing pattern test. Janda and the lower crossed syndrome is also mentioned and how this can cause lower back, facet or disc pathology of L5 or L5 and involve the nerve roots.
John also shows you in his other videos to assess the nerve root level of the adductors (obturator nerve through L3 reflex), patella tendon (femoral nerve through L4 reflex), semitendinosus (tibial / sciatic nerve of L5 reflex) and Achilles / plantar (tibial nerve of sciatic through S1 reflex) and a normal response is classified as 2++. Any reduced hypo-reflex (1+) or increased hyper-reflex (3+++) with Clonus and Babinski positive as might indicate some form of upper motor neurone lesion like Multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal cord tumour or brain injury.
These techniques and more is taught on the Shoulder and Cervical Master-Class at Core Elements in Swindon.

Dear John. Thank you for your nice videos. Is it possible to use k tape for deltoid muscle tear in the arm?
Yes it's very effective
First time wating .good job.I am suffering and will try it.😍
Good luck, regards JG
The tape can stay on for up to 5 days, once you have applied the tape, the patient will put oin their socks and shoes and get on with their life
how long is that initial tape?
There are several factors in plantar foot treatment. One place I discovered that succeeds in merging these is the Natural Foot Wizard (check it out on google) definately the best treatment i've seen.look at all the super info .
Uu
There are many components to plantar foot treatment. One plan I discovered which successfully combines these is the Natural Foot Wizard (check it out on google) without a doubt the most useful resource that I have ever seen.Check out all the interesting info .
@@jaelsheppard3857 wondering same thing
I can sense the relief it will give 😂 lovely!
Thanks for the comments and the tape can help reduce the symptoms, regards JG
thanks a lot!
No problem, hope you liked the video. Regards JG
Interesting
Could u tell me for hand
Hello sir, may I know how can I measure the length of the tape which is suitable for taping ?is it have specific measurement method ?and can I applied this for "gout" condition ?
Most of the tapes have squares on the back - 5 squares is a standard 'I' strip that therapists would use for most techniques, regards JG
Will this same type of taping work for a heel spur?
Thanks for the message and yes it will help, regards JG
Really helpful thank you, is this a specific kind of tape?
I use Rocktape, regards jG
I use just regular KT tape,no particular name brand.
What's the difference in the pink vs. black tape? Different tension? Or is it for the sake of the video only? Does the come in those lengths; perforated on the roll, or do we need to cut them to the desired length? Can we buy any brand we desire?
I use Rocktape and the colour is irrelevant and I buy the roll as a 5cm and 5m length so I cut and design the tape. regards JG
Color is just for looks.
Did it take you long to get your hair like that?
Would i get the same results if I do this to myself? With my foot over my knee and then tape? Kind of hard to do in that position if your alone.
+Anna Santini Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else is searching for treat foot pain try Vaxicorn Treat Feet Guide (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my mate got amazing results with it.
I am confused. Today my kinezetherapist taped my feet but she did exactly opposite to what you did with a pink tape ( she first sticked the tape on the heel and then stretched the tape towards the toes...)...?
Hi and thanks for the message, the direction of the tape is not that important as it is more about the stretch. If she taped your foot and you feel an improvement then its not a problem, regards JG
How well does this tape hold up in water?.. I exercise mainly in water due to "other" injuries so I am seeking a remedy for this fasciitis that I have now been afflicted with for over 1 year. I have tried: rest, heat, cold, NSAIDs, muscle and nerve relaxants. physio trigger point therapy and acupuncture. I need to get on with my life before it gets away on me! The other question is: Is this taping method accomplish able by a lone person?
The Tiger K tape and Rocktape is great in water as still stays attached. Rocktape sell a H20 tape that is designed for the athlete that participates in water sports. Hope that helps
@@JohnGibbons Love Rock Tape
Thank you! This method healed my foot in 24 hours!
Great news, regards JG
flying0range oh fuck off, it was never truly injured then
Plants Fasciitis does not heal. If it’s truly bad you can have surgery!the model he has used has not got it!
@@ruthie2222 calm down love we no the model ain't got it. Does it matter it's more about the application of tape tut tut cant win these days
@@ruthie2222 It does heal, it just takes several months
What's the speciality of this??
I want this tap,but how??
I'm from Bangladesh.
For a heel spur just poke the inflamed area with the sharp corner of a cofee table or a pen with the tip taken out. Put as much pressure into it as you can. Do this every day for three weeks. You have to inject pressure back into the area.
Interesting comments, regards JG
Dear John .I put taps on my heel as I saw ur video ..but my pain is getting worse ...should I take them off or leave them ???
I doubt the tape made it worse unless you put it on to tight - try again and maybe with less tension to the tape, regards JG
What kind of tapes it’s I’m unable to find in Jeddah Ksa. Plz reply
Try Rocktape.com
Well what happens if the foot gets hot & sweaty with the tape on the Foot? While the socks & shoes are on? I know its a stupid question.
Nothing to worry about. The important thing is to make sure the foot/ankle is dry and clean as you apply the tape. You can even take a shower with the tape on, just make sure you dab the tape gently with the towel afterwards and don't rub, since that'll loosen the ends of the tape, making it peel off. You can keep the tape on for up to five days.
is this some specoal tape or any tape would do
I use Rocktape, which is the best I have found, regards jG
Ola buenas tardes como se yama esesta sinta me duele mucho mi talon derecho donde la cosigo si es tan amable gracias
Thanks for the comments, regards JG
Se llama cinta atletica y la puede conseguir en la farmacia
where can I get this tape or do I need it from a doctor
Drug store. Athletic tape.
Got mine from Poundland
do you know if this is good for when the nerve channels get left open after a particularly severe case of PF basically it gets worse all the time but as i say i don't technically have PF, just the pain, any and all advice greatly appreciated as i am in chronic pain 24/7 NB. my diagnosis could be worng but this is what doctoors and specialists are currently saying to me, many thanks.
Not sure but worth a try as nothing to loose. Good luck
thank you yes i must get some ASAP anything worth a try had worst day ever yesterday so reaching a point where i don't think i will be able to walk think mine is unusually server and not presenting in the classic spot it's more in the balls of the feet and all over the feet both of them ahhh well, thanks any way
Jibicus Maximus interesting points ,if anyone else wants to learn about how to cure foot pain try Alkarno Foot Pain Alchemist (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my cousin got great success with it.
thank you Fara Hana i will look in too, although through my own research i am now suspecting that perhaps i have something called mortons nueronome which is essentially a pinched nerve in the ball of the foot, in both feet. thanks agian and btw i am glad that your cousin found some relief from her pain.
Jibicus Maximus Lovely video content! Excuse me for chiming in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you heard about - Mackorny Feet Ahead Blueprint (just google it)? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my GF at very last said good bye to the frustrating Plantar Fasciitis stress with it.
Это методика при вальгусной деформации стопы? От выступающей косточки?
Thk
Thanks - regards JG
Where can I get these strips
I got my tape at CVS
So this will help with plantar fibroma?
Worth a try, regards JG
My heel feels better just watching.
I have some questions as a bodywork therapist. The idea of kinesiotape is to mimic muscle tension, right? Or is it to re-train shortened muscles? I've treated things like severed nerves in my flexor muscles by waiting for things to heal, and then taping the antagonist muscles to regain mobility.
I see how the second segment could help PF (plantar fascia), but I can't imagine why you'd use the tape, stretched over the PF.. Wouldn't thatonly shorten the tissue of the arch, exacerbating the problem?
.
I have been taping mine to offer more support for my arches. Idk if that is what I'm supposed to be doing it for, but there is a huge difference of taped vs just an insole.
The tape lifts the skin a micro amount which allows the blood and lymph flow and for nerves to have more 'space' to nourish the injured area. Muscles are 100% reliant on what the nerves and blood are doing. Think less of muscle and more of the fascia matrix in which the blood/lymph/nerves are invested in. This is an osteopathic point of view. Sue Hitzman, founder of Melt Method, has great info in this regard.
Thanks
I have a newer Plantar Taping technique as the one you watch is an older version, then again it is pretty good....Thanks for watching and happy new year>>>JG
Can i use the tape for shin splints?
I have a video on anterior or medial shin pain so check it out as will help, regards JG
Thanks John
Please can you write down the tape name. Thanks
Rocktape, regards JG
Why do you always use two different colors?
No technical reason for using two colours as the tape is the same, regards JG
But why does it have pain?
Plantar fasciitis can affects many people for many reasons, the tape will help but wont fix the problem, regards jG
my physio did this type of taping today bt used a short piece as a stirrup rather than the long bit as i have hypermobility syndrome which is causing my arches to collapse and thus PF Im wondering if i use your longer method if it would help stabilize my ankle as well?
Everybody has their own way of taping for plantar fasciitis but as long as it helps you then it is of benefit..regards JG
Please toled you I telugu
My right FOOT , MY SEVEN. 16'S TOE IS IN NEED OF MAJOR ATTENTION! 🔥
Would you be kind enough to tell us the name of these tapes; where they can be bought and how much please. Have suffered with this for 2 and half years now ???
+Allan Davies I suggest Rocktape and you can buy from their website www.rocktape.net and they do vary on price but it is the best one out there. Hope that helps and good luck!! Regards JG
Thank you John that is very kind of you...
I've been researching into cures for plantar fasciitis and found a fantastic website at Fergs Foot Formula (google it if you're interested)

Seriously? He touch the adhesive part
sports medicine is excellent... prevention of an injury is far better than a treatment of an injury. { but they are both important}
Good answer....JG

There is a walk that you can do to strengthen the feet. People have feet pain because of weak foot muscles and being overweight.
what walk
which one is a functional tape?
I use Rocktape and the techniques I use are all 'functional' for the patients. regards JG
I've been researching into plantar foot and discovered a great website at Natural Foot Wizard (google it if you are interested)

It’s a shame that you didn’t have a model with the actual condition!
Difficult to have real patients with symptoms when I was doing a video shoot, hope you like the video. regards JG
Most comments here are trying to sell shit. Annoying.
