    You have earned my subscription. I just cancelled my return of this product. Watching a video is one thing, listening is another. There was a point where you were installing the ribbons and said “blue to blue”. That was my mistake.

    WOW! I watched this video 5 times while deciding whether to buy the joy audio or not. I finally pulled the trigger last Saturday and it arrived the next Tuesday!! Could not believe how fast and how well it was packaged. The whole install took me 1.5 hours and, of course, when I went to turn it on.....nothing. Made two mistakes.
    1) did not seed the main harness into the PCM well enough for the PCM to Power up. Easy fix and I thought it was not in far enough
    2) I put the LCD from the Joy Box in the In and not the Out. Again, easy fix and I was not sure which one it went in.
    Other than that, this was a great project and an incredible video that really was so much more informative than the Panamera video that comes in the QR code with the system. My 991.1 is now ready for the road!!!
    Thanks again!!!! A+++++

    Very detailed instruction, good stuff. One question about the USB cable coming from the Joyeauto box, what is it connected to? the diagram shows it's for the Android mirroring, does it mean it's only needed for Android Auto? Your video doesn't mention the installation/purpose of it as well, probably because you only need Apple CarPlay?

    Hi James,
    I watched your video last night and I have concerns/questions. I have a PCM 3.0 (2012 911-997.2) with XM radio. I noticed in your video that you removed the Ribbon cables from the LCD screen and used two sets of the screw extenders to go over the XM module. This was different from other videos that I have watched for the PCM 3.0 install.
    My kit only came with 3 of the extensions, and I have concerns that the Ribbon Cables might sit too high in the unit and not work. Do you have any insight on how to make this work on a PCM 3.0? Thanks.

    I purchased the Joyeauto after watching your video. Had it installed by a mechanic, and it worked great for a month. and just last week, my PCM died... im not sure if its the Joyeauto has anything to do with it but now that I pulled out my PCM and ripped the warranty seal.. i cant do warranty claim either. kind of a nightmare im facing

    Great work & thanks for sharing. Do u need to deactivate bluetooth audio in PCM to make AUX work ? Was just a bit confused as to what u configured to get audio to function properly.

    • @AutoAmateur
      @AutoAmateur  3 года назад

      Hey Tim! In this instance, the PCM unit didn't have its AUX input activated. I simply found the right menu and turned the AUX input on. Anyone who uses their iPod or iPhone or whatever connected via USB will have the AUX input turned on already. There is no need to deactivate the Bluetooth Audio to make JoyeAuto work, but it can be useful to do that to make it easier to accept phone calls so your PCM and CarPlay apps aren't competing to take the calls. This happens in a handful of cases but it doesn't affect your ability to use the JoyeAuto.

    Great video James.my I installed this unit on the weekend. I did the same install in my BMW and that helped me a bit but your video really made it trouble free.
    Only gotcha's for me were the clips for the ribbon cables. The first one broke on me to the LCD. I had to glue the clip to the circuit board. 2nd was the video cables to the Joyeaux weren't defined but i just swapped on the unit and bingo!
    Thanks for the detailed install.

    Hi, great video thanks for making this doable! Ive had the joyeauto installed for 4 days on my panamera (mk1) and I went to start it tonight and the battery is flat. Have you experienced this in any of your installs - i think the joyeauto must be taking from the battery even when the ignition and PCM are off. Could it be to do with where ive chosen to add it into the fusebox? Cheers.

    • @AutoAmateur
      @AutoAmateur  2 года назад

      Hey James! You need to find a fuse slot that is switched, which means the slot goes on and off with the ignition. You can test the fuse slots you have access to by plugging in the JoyeAuto unit and turning the ignition on and off. Watch for the blue light on the back of the JoyeAuto unit. If it goes off when your ignition is turned off (and the door is opened to kill the power) you found a fuse slot that will work for you.

    please advice places to hide joyeauto unit itself. or how to mount it steady if placing it under stearing wheel

    • @AutoAmateur
      @AutoAmateur  3 года назад

      I use zip ties wrapped around the unit, then another zip tie under the footwell, above and out of the way of your feet along the inner side of the body. There is a plastic bracket up there which you can use to tie everything too. The wires then just need to go under your steering wheel column on top of the plastic tray.
