Asus updated their Zen phone line in November with the Zenfone 2 Laser. It now runs the Snapdragon 615, 3gb ram, dual sim, SD card and removable battery and of course Laser focus. This guy has been a dream, I went from a Galaxy S5 and have been very happy with it. Scanning bar codes and doing remote deposits are now fast and 100% accurate.

I have a Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 and am very satisfied with it. I promptly rooted it and took some of the bloatware off of it. It came with Android 4.1, but they offered 4.4 on their website, so I did the upgrade to that. Still working alright after 9 months of ownership. They make decent products for the money. I am all for pure Android though and wish that it would become the standard among the manufacturers.

The Sony camera (assuming it's an A-series/Alpha model) actually uses WiFi direct to send pictures and stream directly to the tablet/smartphone. The NFC just initiates the app on the camera and tablet/smartphone to start the pairing process.

NFC on my Sony mirrorless is a god send. Shoot an image, tap my smartphone, drop it into Lightroom Mobile or Snapseed, post to social media within minutes. Great for when i'm attending things like CES and followers/readers wanna see what's up quickly. I need to buy a wifi SD card for my new camera to get the same capability.

As to extended warranties - I never buy them.
My first programming job in the late 60's (YES! I am that old) was with a department store in Cincinnati. On the purchase of TVs and appliances we made FAR more money on the extended service contracts than on the actual product. Most things, then or now, are going to fail in the first 90 days. That time frame is usually covered by the manufacturer. Even mobile phones, except for the most abusive user, will work for at least 4 years - with the battery being the limiting component.

When you set up light you should combine a 3k and a 6k it gives off really good light that's comparable to daylight.
Actually good ratio is 2x 3000s for every 1 6000, If you are lighting a office, store, warehouse, or what ever you can easily combine different wave length bulbs in those 4 bulb enclosures that are pretty standard everywhere.
This is a better way to do light because you are using specific areas of your eye to see different wave lengths of light using the same length occludes the use of other parts of your eye causing fatigue in one area and disuse in another meaning that if your eye is using a full spectrum to see both sources of high and low length don't need to be as bright to create a comfortably lit area and can save energy. Full spectrum also helps with color perception for design and to reduce eye strain.

I use MSI Afterburner on my gaming PC to monitor temperatures of the CPU & Graphics card, also various other info. It also comes with Rivatuner which allows you to cap the max framerates of games to say 60, to match monitor refresh rate. It can help reduce coil whine when playing older games, where the graphics card could be producing hundreds of frames per second (or even thousands in loading screens).

Remember when the goals was to make a cell phone so small that fit into the small 3rd pocket on a pair of Levi's 501 jeans. As a dude I do not want a phone that is so big that it will not fit in a pocket. I'm not metro sexual enuff to buy a man purse or want one to hold my cell phone.

Will be getting one of the honor 5x phones for my mom. She currently has a moto e and feels left out when she sees my brother (iphone 6) and I (oneplus one) with our phones. Itll run great for her and itll be a large phone which is good for her.

So Shannon, why are you ragging on the Honor 5x for only having 16 GB of storage while also saying it's a competitor to the Moto G which has only 8 GB for the cheaper version or 16 GB for the more expensive one?
Sure, 16 GB is not much space, but truthfully, I'd rather have that plus a micro SD card slot than having even 32 GB and no micro SD. All of my media can be stored on the SD card and so none of that will be filling up the 16 GB of space.

C.H.I.P computer would be great for updating an old Car/truck TV. I have an old but well working Analog/composite TV in my 91 Suburban. THis would be AWESOME to make a basic Car computer/Media center. I currently run a DVD head unit to the Screen, but would like it to be it's own thing! I was planning to do it with a Rasberry Pi, but don't know if Rasberry pi 2 or Zero has composite output....which i will need.

I don't any hands on experience with the Asus Zenfone or the Moto G, but I have the OnePlus X (which cost 50$ more). It runs cyanogen, but it's almost a stock android experience. The 5'' AMOLED is amazing and the glass/aluminum build feels nothing but premium and it too has got the dual SIMcard slot and Micro SD. If something, the camera is a bit week, but OnePlus recently updated the camera software so yo can now manually change ISO and stuff.
I highly recommend the OnePlus X, and if you buy it, please use the pack-in silicon case (glass phone and pavement doesn't go well together).

I just got a Denon s500bt and don't have a center channel. I don't feel like I need one. I'm in a smallish bedroom and in the sweet spot. My dad and uncle think a center speaker is necessary and that I'm "not doing surround sound right", even though I explained that centers are only needed if anyone sits off to the side. And, of course, I had them watch something so they could hear for themselves. And they refuse to change their opinion. Just curious what your thoughts are on center channels.
Thanks from Bobby in Perris, CA =)

Im an electrician. If you have 5" or 6" incandescent [NOT FLOURESCENT, or LOW VOLT HALOGEN] can lights in your house, go to home depot. Buy this:
    www.homedepot.com/p/Halo-5-in-and-6-in-3000K-Matte-White-Recessed-LED-Retrofit-Baffle-Trim-Module-80-CRI-RL560WH-R/203310667
This LED trim is the only brand our company uses. We do not install any other can lights anymore. They look much better than LED light bulb replacements, and produce more light, because they are specifically designed for recessed can lights. If you want to dim the lights make sure to buy a LED dimmer. Regular dimmers will not work.
This is what a recessed can light is:
