    Its not that wing chun doesn't work, I think its really the practioners who don't have a fighters will. All styles can work if you can really fight!

    • @bigwavesun
      @bigwavesun 3 года назад +2

      That's exactly it. Along with the art, you have to train to fight. The key to this is being able to fight at all ranges: outer range, kicking range, hands range, elbows and knee range, and shoulder/hip (grappling range). This sifu has demonstrated his ability to fight at various ranges in Sergio's other videos.

    They have all the weight in front leg, the student is also leaning forward, these kind of leg sweeps don’t work in other branches of wing Chun where weight is distributed on the rear leg which actually enables a counter sweep

    • @Dan53196
      @Dan53196 5 лет назад +1

      Don’t take my word for it try it with a friend. You can’t move your front leg out of a sweep if all your weight is on it. It’s the same reason why a Thai boxer can beat a boxer (there’s a vid of 2 pros in each discipline on RUclips). When your weight is on the front leg like a standard boxer you make it prone to leg kicks and sweeps because you can’t move the leg fast enough if at all. You can get away with it in boxing because no one is kicking you. It’s the same reason Rafael Dos Anjos lit up Nate Diaz and kicked his legs to smithereens because Nate uses a boxing structure for his stand up and not a Thai boxing structure (he spars with Andre ward) Not saying this Guys stuff doesn’t work or that he’s not skilled but that kind of sweep will only work on a certain type of structure.

      @Ptmp727 Actually there are various types of fights depending on who's fighting.
      Ufc matches are real fights, but with some rules. Yeah I know, I know.... Listen, most of the things not allowed in matches usually don't happen in the street eg. kick to the groin, ear slaps, eye jabs, tearing off ears, knee breaks etc. Also many times people step in to stop the fight, like referees do. Does all that mean they are not fights? Do think about it please. I understand that this is what you have heard all this time, well now you got an upgrade. That's a good thing, don't worry about it, enjoy ;)

    2:46 that shift is key. That gets skipped a lot. Lot of #wingchun arm people. We attack with more actions than them. Create a still position by winning the interception phase. And immediately shift the weight and step into his other weapons covering them, and dropping heavy firepower all in one beat. ☺️🤙🏿💥💯even in my JEET KUNE DO it’s still all basically VINGTSUN. ☮️🤓💥 thats the thing. All the good Wing chun and JKD people are using the interception and fencing the hands now. 😛

    At 3:10 just behold how the great master causes injury just to show off his great speed and technique. Good job, well done. Some points he may have missed on the way of becoming the greatest.

    • @victorkenosis6977
      @victorkenosis6977 8 лет назад +14

      For goodness' sake, if one is afraid of a little pain and injury, one should not even take part in the Oriental martial arts. Take up dancing. Even there, you'll get injuries.
      And he's not showing off. He is teaching. A MARTIAL art. Some instructors are all talk, no action. It is good to FEEL the speed and power. That's learning too.
      There can be broken bones , dislocations, black eyes and concussions in traditional kungfu.
      Doesn't necessarily mean the sifu is an egotistical ass. WingChun, in particular, is full- contact. Cheers.
