    It is actually Shuai jiao or Chinese wrestling. A very old art in its own right and some argue the for-runner of such grappling arts as ju jitsu etc.

    He combines Wing Chun and Chinese Wrestling. It is impressive, but people should know that they are two different styles, not one.

      The throwing and takedowns are well practised and very impressive - Many of my Asian instructors had a very high power to body weight ratio and excellent well practised techniques for many years of intense blood, sweat and sacrifice to get there,

    he uses shuai jiao in his wing chun. me too the belt cracking methods and circular movement.. using throwing technique in forms.. i do this too =) surprise there wasnt a throwing basin or vase there but hes right everything all must link together. especially for that economy and distance. without the striking it would be more difficult for compliance.. just makes sense the stun tactic. enter, trap if you can, stun & confuse then throw, lock up or let go and let the ground do its work. impressive

    This is one of the better Wing Chun clips I have seen. I never saw the point in continuously fighting in close quarters, the risk is far too high. Better off, whipping your opponent head first into concrete or a wall and be done with it. I prefer keeping my opponent at a distance and if he manages to get in, my opponent is going to kiss the concrete quite quickly. No need to waste time.

    It is said that Wing Chun was not supposed to be a stand along style. It doesn't have a beginning or end. It was supposed to bridge the gap between striking and grappling. Sifu Wang demonstrated the bridge to grappling beautifully.

  • @nexiscyh

    when someone demonstrate slower or softer viewers say wing chun useless or sucks. now an expert does it faster and more forceful viewers say the master should not take it so hard on the students wtf, can't please anyone right. so watch if you like it, if you dun like it dun watch and stfu.... and nobody is saying kungfu, karate or wing chun is the best. it is another form of martial arts and a master showing their knowledge and skills... it is the practitioner that will take the martial art to another level not the other way round. Can't teach a pig to win in mma can you? It is a very important culture in east that one learns martial art to build one's character and not be over competitive and become arrogant hence a true master's in the east usually just teach and not do it competitively so that arrogant people do not use it to bully the weak.

    He's incorporated classic northern Chinese Shuai Jiao techniques and a traditional training method (i.e. belt cracking) into his WC. It's great to see how he's made the combination work, but I still wouldn't consider it WC -- the body mechanics are very different. IMO, Indonesian/Filipino arts have throws and takedowns which blend much better with WC.

    • @Tequn9q
      @Tequn9q 6 лет назад +3

      WIng chun is a system that teaches concepts through form.
      There is no limits to the applications of those concepts.
      Wing chun Kuen Kuit "We learn by form, but we are not bound by form"
      Traditionally the wing chun was taught as a hitting art, but to me this is just one part of the system.
      The main idea of the system is to control the Jung Saam Sin (the core central line/axis), meaning the opponents structure.
      You can control the opponents structure by hitting, kicking, sweeping, pushing, jerking... = no limits.
      My Sifu taught me: if it gets the job done with the least possible effort and movement, its good wing chun

    • @seinundzeiten

  • @Cyclonus5
    @Cyclonus5 11 лет назад +1

    But the techniques are in Wing Chun. The Lap Sao/La Shou covers everything shown here with regards to hand throws and the stepping in Biao Tse covers leg based throws. I'll admit I didn't learn all of these throws in my Wing Chun training, but I did learn many of these. I don't doubt that there's a Shuai Jiao influence but there's nothing here that wouldn't be considered Wing Chun

  • @dirkejohnson6772
    @dirkejohnson6772 5 лет назад

    Some great techniques - I do like that he is demonstrating takedowns and throws. However, on the throws, I don't understand why he's letting go of his opponent, its hard on the person being thrown in practice. Also, the guy getting thrown doesn't seem to know how to fall which is very dangerous. He looks to already have injured at least on should and his spine as well

    • @kanucks9
      @kanucks9 5 лет назад

      It's not that he doesn't know how to fall, the guy being thrown is throwing himself away, for dramatic flair.
      Most of the takedowns are alright though.
