This is very important footage to everyone who has an interest in Wing Chun. In many other styles, the style was either too ancient or circumstances prevented their greatest masters being filmed. It's fortunate that we have this record of one of the true legends of Chinese Martial Arts.
It's also inspirational to consider that he passed away a week after this footage was taken.

@TheLycan11 Most people sell this footage but it was filmed to keep the standard up not make money so Sam and Ip Man's son's agreed to publish it :-)

Very powerful video watching the Grandmaster perform the Mook Jong was incredible. Such agility, strength given his age and condition. Watching his technique has been giving me insight on my own and gives me motivation to study and train harder.

This is poetic, and somber all at once. The man was so dedicated to martial arts that he did this even though he was close to death. His skills are still very apparent from the video, but it's also apparent he is not well.
At about 5:47 it looks like his student stepped forward to catch him in case he fell.
    Yip Man was truly great.

This is great that that so many people from the Yip Man lineage can see how he performed the forms.
The thing that strikes me is that Sil Lim Tao has more tension in it at certain points than many "Masters" seem to demonstrate.
I can see the entire tense & release of force that generates short range power.
So many versions seem to be TOO relaxed all the way through.

@TheMartialartsJedi maybe best to start with sil lim tao as chum kiu builds on the basic movements in sil lim tao. Thats why its taught first but its up to you.

@wutanSpain understand you meaning but Yip Man believed in progression and as long as you have good reason for changes then it is fine to do so, he told Yip Ching once when asked about changing the form that he could do what he wanted with the form, the truth about whether the changes were good ones would be found out down the generations and if the changes survived then they were good.
