  • Gotta look at it both ways. Also Congrats to Raymond Gibbs aka “Chicken Leg” for recovering from an ACL accident and now is back on the road running after a long 4 month recovery! Welcome back to the road Driver.

    You are getting some good runs . It’s nice to be able to see the country as you roll. Someday I will get out of the funnel and see what it is like. Lol.

    I have been following you since the beginning. I am going solo for the first time and feel intimidated. Would love to know if there was a way for me to reach out to you?

    I have a question. If you start on duty say on a Sunday at 12am and run till 10am, can you take your 10hrs off and start driving again at 8pm on the same day (sun) as long as you have your 10hrs off?

    • @kangarootrucker
      @kangarootrucker  3 года назад

      Yes. As long as you have hours on your 70 hour clock.

    I like running 55-60 the worst drivers are the ones between 60 and 64 because so many trucks are governed at 65 so they really block up traffic. I like to let people pass in seconds not minutes.

    So, I am considering becoming a trucker, but I see all this banter about recaps vs reset, and I am curious , do you have to work 70 hrs a week? Now, I realize thats where the bigger money is. So, I'm not asking about money earned, I am asking do you have to run 70 hr weeks?
    Is that mandatory? Would you be able to work 40 hr weeks?

      I remember early on i was so confused about this 70 hour clock. Its not as much as can you work less. The 70 hour clock means you cannot exceed 70 hours of “on duty” and “driving” which over an 8 day period is only an average of 8 hours and 15 min of combined driving and onduty time. On duty time is used when you have to do a pretrip, or fuel, or drop a trailer, or hook. Little increments of time that will usually consume anywhere between 15 min a day to say 30 usually at the most. But just plan on working an average of 12 hours a day between on duty; off duty and driving. This aint no 8 hour a day gig. That i can tell you. You will learn and be more comfortable with all the details as you drive. Takes time. Good luck. Hope that helps.

      @@kangarootrucker ya, I don't have an issue working 12, I have been in managment a long time now, so 12 is actually nice and easy, I'm just curious if you have to work 70, can you work say 5 days, and drive 4 hrs each, for instance, or rather what is the minimum you can work, the max is 70, what is the minimum?

      Vash, yes they do. They are hiring for flat bed and Van drivers now. Let me know if you know anyone with at least 6 months ITR who’s looking. First year about $70k gross revenue for conpany drivers. They got lease too and take owner operators. Thanks for your comment
