The music for the series was created by Shuki Levy, who wrote and composed music for Inspector Gadget, The Littles, Heathcliff, The Real Ghostbusters, M.A.S.K., The New Archies, Dinosaucers, Alf: The Animated Series, Alf Tales, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, Captain N: The Game Master, Camp Candy, X-Men (the animated series), Dragon Ball Z (English dubbed version), Digimon (English dubbed version), and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, while the C.O.P.S. theme music was written and composed by the creator of the Power Rangers series, Haim Saban, and sung by Nick Carr. It then was featured in reruns in syndication on CBS in 1993 and was renamed CyberCOPS in order to avoid confusion with the reality prime time show COPS, which was then gaining popularity.
COPS was released in syndication from 1988 to 1989. It was rerun on The Family Channel from September 15, 1990 to June 30, 1991, WGN (now NewsNation) from September 7, 1992 to May 1993. In 1993, CBS added reruns of COPS to their Saturday morning cartoon lineup renamed, repackaged, retitled Cyber COPS (same show, same episodes, new title). The name change was in order to avoid confusion with the "cyberpunk" fad and the unrelated 1989 Fox long-running live-action prime time reality show Cops, which was gaining popularity, which debuted after it for the month, after the animated COPS finished its run, with a certain Fox reality series that for outlasted the cartoon. They just took and recycled the old episodes of "C.O.P.S." and renamed "Cyber C.O.P.S." And every time the word "C.O.P.S." was said on the show and altered and replaced with "Cyber C.O.P.S." in the theme song to avoid confusion with Fox's long-running live-action prime time reality show Cops, they got the voice actors back to dub in hastily said "CYBER" and the word was looped back into the audio track. The logo toward the end even added the word "CYBER" etched across the top of the badge. Other than that, the intro had the same animation. The added feature that was different from the syndicated version was a segment sponsored by California Highway Patrol and DARE that taught kids about safety issues such as stranger danger saying no to drugs and learning about crossing the street safely and more. Cyber COPS ran for 6 months from March 27 to September 4, 1993, was applied to the show, perhaps to play up the futuristic aspects of the story, presumably as a mid-season replacement. 2 years later, it was rerun on USA Network as part of the USA Cartoon Express lineup under and restorted its original COPS title for 2 months from January 2 to March 9, 1995. Currently, the last time the show aired on American Television was in March 1995.
I remember in 1988-89 while in 3rd grade rushing home to watch this show and being disappointed because a stupid Cubs game was on WGN…that’s why to this day I do not like the Chicago Cubs.
@@Anonymous-o8j What about, 1. Samuel L Jackson. 2. Wesley Snipes. 3. Denzel Washington. Dude so good to see you!! If I may humbly make a suggestion? Batman Beyond the Opening/Ending? This is the Year Batman gave up, after getting a Heart Attack during a fight. And having to use a gun just to stop the criminal from killing the captive.
Between This and the Instrumental Intro Music of X-Men the Animated Series, they are the most BAD A** Music Hands Down, And They're Both my Favorites Too.
Were it possible, I would've done so already. Unfortunately this was ripped from a rare album containing Shuki Levy's compilation of TV themes. A score album for C.O.P.S. has never been made officially to my knowledge.
This intro used to have me ready to run through a fucking wall. Still does.
Nostalgia.

"COPS... Central Organization of Police Specialists. Fighting crime... in a future time. Protecting Empire City from Big Boss and his gang of crooks."
This is so good that even Bowzer and Blitz would dance to it.
Look out Ms. Demeanor!!
I've been looking for a speech free version of this song for years!! Thank you so much... It is... Crime fighting timmmeeeeee
And there is the speech again :D
shout out to this person for making this flawless extended version.
Next time you're on a treadmill, try running to this song for 30 minutes straight at 5.1 miles an hour. If you can, my hat is off to you.
This shit gets you amped up!
Shuki Levy needs in some type of Hall Of Fame and/or have a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
1 of my favorite cartoon show theme songs ever. They need this to be 10 hours long. 🤣
One of these days, I hope you start uploading versions of these extended mixes
where you actually include the conclusion of the song at the end.
Guys this song is purity anthology
Great memories
I watching this tv show between 1992 to 1994 years in teletica channel 7
From Costa Rica
"It's crime fighting time!"
~Bulletproof
Wonderful! This was one of my all-time favorite intros.
Great recording! It’s a shame that RUclips interrupts it with a commercial. Haha
That's been the trend in the last few years. It's ridiculous.
It's crime fighting time! 🚨🚔👮♂️
Well this is awesome. I once worked on an un-aired Shuki Levy directed project. It was great fun, sadly the pilot will never see the light of day.
What was that project?

A Nice part of my childhood :)
There should be way more likes... Masterpiece
HAAHAHs sound like Take the time and Only a matter of time by dream Theater
It would be cool to see this cartoon as a live action movie!
Laurence fishburn would have to be bulletproof no question
I'd like to see Hasbro do to COPS what they did to GI JOE with "GI JOE Resolute."
I'm working on it using AI ;)
Dwayne “The Rock’ Johnson would make a perfect Bulletproof IMO.

Solid. Loved it.
I'll never forget the battlecry. "It's crime fighting time! Kinda like "yo Joe!" Autobots, roll out!" & "Avengers assemble!."
