This movie is timeless. I fell in love with it when I was no more than 10 years old. I'm 32 now and still love it. I giggle at some of the cheesiness of it now, being a bit more cynical, but it still gives me the same thrill. Still makes me wish I could dance like that.

The scene that will always stay with me is the way Baby's father hugged her so intensely and emotionally after her big dance moment. It's the same way my father hugged me the first time I came home from college.
The smile is the same. Only the nose is different. And that was a long time ago. We loved her for the way she was, but she didn't. And it's all okay. Still one of the greatest movies with some of the greatest stars, script, soundtrack. Everything about this film was great. I'm a normal, 36-year old guy who's not into "chick flicks," but for me Dirty Dancing is another golden movie that came out during the 80's. She crosses that fine line of being both beautiful and hot at the same time. Might sound odd, but usually it's one or the other. She did both. It makes you wish you could transport yourself to that camp back in the 60's and dance with her. Every dude wishes he could be Patrick Swayze in that movie, and not because he got all the attention from the ladies, but because he got to be with Jennifer Grey.

Jennifer was the perfect lead in Dirty Dancing. If you get to be in ONE movie which is a classic and star in it.... you've made it. Say what you will about this woman but she has gone down in cinematic history... few can boast such a feat.
It blows my mind that Jennifer had self esteem issues. I saw this in 87 as a 13yr old in Australia at the movies as we all did back then, and recognised her immediately as Ferris’s sister from the year before. (My other all time fave movie) She was WOW to me. WOW WOW WOW!! In looks, in acting, in comic timing, in dancing. I would never have believed she didn’t believe in herself. If we could turn back the hands of time to tell her how much we loved her and her physical beauty was worshipped. We all wanted to look like her.
Patrick Swayze is one of the greatest actors and people ever imo. I met him when I was a kid in 1996 on an airplane, and he was so friendly even though i was a complete stranger.

I love how even tho Patrick and Jennifer didn't like each other on the set, they still spoke highly of each other all the way until the end.

Jennifer was the perfect lead in Dirty Dancing. If you get to be in ONE movie which is a classic and star in it.... you've made it. Say what you will about this woman but she has gone down in cinematic history... few can boast such a feat.

It blows my mind that Jennifer had self esteem issues. I saw this in 87 as a 13yr old in Australia at the movies as we all did back then, and recognised her immediately as Ferris’s sister from the year before. (My other all time fave movie) She was WOW to me. WOW WOW WOW!! In looks, in acting, in comic timing, in dancing. I would never have believed she didn’t believe in herself. If we could turn back the hands of time to tell her how much we loved her and her physical beauty was worshipped. We all wanted to look like her.
I loved that movie. Patrick & Jennifer seemed to have a chemistry that made the movie memorable.
Patrick Swayze is one of the greatest actors and people ever imo. I met him when I was a kid in 1996 on an airplane, and he was so friendly even though i was a complete stranger.
Oh....what a fabulous movie...watched several times and never tire of it....
