Facts. Had a 2019 as a rental, I felt like the King of the road. It's so high up that every other crossover/SUV on the road looked tiny compared to it lol
Always looking forward to seeing your super high quality videos Steve, even though I may not be interested in the vehicle at all. Thank you so much for the incessant attention to detail and the quality of production as usual. Cheers!
Just bought one. It’s the only large SUV that feels like a drivers car. Fun to drive, hauls a$$, and tows like a brute! I drove them all and it’s definitely the most engaging. I wouldn’t think twice about pushing it on a windy road. It’s the only SUV that does t feel big! I drove them all including the Denali 3.0 diesel. .
Another great review by Steve. Between the 2022 Lexus GX 460 and this Armada Platinum (or SL), which do you recommend? I will not be towing anything. Bonus question, how reliable are the 2021 and newer Armada's? Thank you
I don’t know whether it’s new equipment, a nice day, or a beautiful car, or a combination of these things, but this video is just gorgeous right from the opening shot. Even better than your usually high production values. It was physically painful for me that you passed on the opportunity to make “armada” puns, but I’m aware that I have a problem. It kills me that I can’t ask my neighbor Alexis if she has a twin sister named Anacura.
@@stevehammes Have your sister guest again the next time you review a big SUV, and ask her “Do you like this one better than Armada?” There, did it for you. You’re welcome.
Yacht Rock Radio sounds perfect for a land yacht! (The climate control ergonomics are so much better than with any touchscreen, not every change is better. A powerful diesel would make sense in such a large SUV)
It may have some old bones, but at least you know it’s battle tested. The current Tahoe and Yukon have not been on sell a full year and just had their first recall a couple weeks ago. Sure a piano roof, colorful ambient lighting and new key fob would be nice. But overall it’s an even better option than before.
I just can’t get over how this is basically the same Infiniti QX80 since 2010. Feels like it should’ve been out years ago. I Really Wish Nissan would get back to their roots🙏🏽
Looks better than the old one. Nissan’s powertrain is great but the gas mileage sucks. My Enclave has great gas milieage that’s why I use it for trips up to my cabin in Utah. I will be replacing my 2013 Enclave soon with a V8 Wagoneer. Hope the mpgs are decent. I want to get by each way of the trip on one tank.
10 year old platform. Funny how the previous Armada and QX had a screen that was integrated into the dash and now this new one has one that joins the horrible trend of tacked on screens on top of the dash.
These beasts last forever too- bulletproof V8 engine. All made in Japan with excellent fit and finish.
I feel like a boss when driving this machine..good job Steve

I’ve seen an updated one in person and it’s much better Than before
The new Armada is genuinely rugged and luxurious off-roader. Great job, Nissan!

Hope this thing doesn't get stuck in the Suez Canal
The electrification of cars disgusts me. I want it old school.
Nice review! You truly detailed all the nice aspects of this huge and delightful vehicle.
Driving shots looked sharp 😉
Not a Nissan fan but man this is a really good suv
The Armada is a great SUV.
Good review Steven.
Thanks!
Steve, It looks like you really enjoyed your week long patrol in this Armada.
Yes been waiting on this Steve
Thanks, Miguel!

Thanks, Andy! I, too, was considering many of those puns but decided to pass. Maybe I should’ve let a few rip?

2:16 OMG, my 2005 Maxima SL had those heated seat buttons. I guess it's not the most important touchpoint in the car, but still...
Totally! Those switches in the rear have to go.
As long as they work and never break, what does it matter?
@@povertyspec9651 by that logic we'd all be driving around in 1984 Civics...
Gorgeous Nissan Patrol/Armada.
Great review. Thank you.

Hell the Nissan looks better sorted and more desirable than the Infiniti version.
Nice nissan! Cool
Steve! You sold me on this car. But which one would you take in this class of vehicles?
Tahoe.
For 71k I would for sure just go with the QX80. I own a QX60 and the service department far surpasses Nissan.

I like this a lot, especially considering it's lower price over the GMC Denali which my wife wants.😉
The Armada interior looks better than the Patrol.. the dual screen centre looks a bit off on the patrol
Wow 😳 nice 👍 car 🚗
like it!!
Nice vidio review
Thank you.
Just in time for $4/gal premium gas.
Bad timing.
I was in Barstow, CA recently and it was $4.85 if my memory is correct.
I think the Armada could benefit from a 9-sp auto instead of the 7-sp auto.
Just be thankful they don’t put one of their CVTs in this thing 😉
@@stevehammes
Agree. The next gen. Pathfinder uses the 9-sp. auto and ditches the CVT.
Nissan just put the QX80 into the Armada this year, 2022 year the Infiniti QX80 will be different then the form it is now.
They should've tune down power for 87 octane
You can use 87. You get the 390hp of the 2020 and prior models.
$70,000 and no automatic lift gate? I dealbreaker for me.
So slow to advance....tho might be nice to ride in the back!!
That thing is a dinosaur.. change a few things and call it new
Still looks better & more modern than the Sequoia lol. Now THAT is a dinosaur, it doesn't even have LED tail lights

Bulletproof platform from the Nissan Patrol. You could drive it off a cliff and it would be fine.
Less ugly than before still doesn’t make it pretty.
It looks fugly outside. No hybrid is a non-starter for me.
