Bluefish is pound for pound the best fighting fish out there. They’re basically saltwater piranhas. I lucked out and got two solid ones today in the FL big bend and I’ve got em soaking in orange juice until tomorrow when I can throw em on the grill stuffed with lemon and orange slices.
You know what would be nice? If once in a while you divulge the fishing places for us non Long Islanders. Once in a while I will like to go to a place in Long Island an have me some fun. Not the obvious places. Your videos are really awesome. Keep them coming.
They also expect people to like and follow their channel. So, why not let people know where the fish are? You probably are one of those who never let people know where the fish are. It's a sport, not a business!!!
When I fish for bluefish , I use steel leaders and 20 pound test line.I find that the 20 pound test line works great ! And yes , always have a handy pair of pliers on you.Great video buddy.I usually fish off the Jedis ( the rocks) off the tip of cape may New Jersey.Such a great place to catch bluefish and striper bass.👍👍👍🙂
I grew up near Fortescue Nj...I've done a lot of fishing in the Delaware bay. When I was a kid, in the 70's, there were a couple of "older" gentleman who owned a little 16' "cabin cruiser" from the 60's...not exactly an ideal fishing vessel! Every weekend from May through Sept. these guys would don grey overalls, load 2 55 gallon drums of chum onto a deck that was about 40 square feet, and come back at the end of the day with those drums overflowing with the biggest blues I've ever seen!! 👍✌️
Great video and this seems to have enough information for me to catch a bluefish. One thing I wish Fishing channels would discuss more in their videos is how to correctly use the bait/lure they are using. It would be nice to learn how the lure works, is it supposed to float/sink, how fast do you reel it in, etc...
Hey, Nothing is so exciting as to hear the line go ripping off your reel and beach a bluefish❤️👍🥛🍪my uncle was a trout, stream, pipe smoking worm wrangler up in Vermont...he came to Maine for two weeks to visit, smoke his pipe, fish the lakes and try bluefish fishing from shore...he had a steamer trunk size bluefish, which he landed no problem...he went to get his pipe laying next to the fish and WHAM...the sucker did a wiggle and caught my uncles little finger...18 stitches later, we stopped for Jack Daniels & beer on the ride home...he burned that pipe when he returned to Vermont...Cheers from Maine.
Thank you very much! Erica says hi, and we look forward to seeing you soon! We may be fishing in the Adirondacks the week of July 4th. We will have to go fishing with you soon though! Maybe after that week!
Awesome video Paul! That guy choked that whole mag darter. Crazy! Love seeing you out there catching up some blues. I love watching your videos man. Seems like they were at the end of your cast. The fight is better that way 🎣🤙
Very good video pointing out what to check on your gear and explaining what to look for & your techniques your videos are not like the rest that’s what makes them good.👍
Why not use tins / metals or single inline hooks or 1 treble on plug when targeting blues ? Noticed you fish mag darter all the time … anyways tight lines awesome videos man ✌🏾
🤙🏼🤙🏼 I love the tins for blues, especially diamond jigs because of that single hook that’s far from my line tie! We just uploaded a video on that one! Good luck how there! We’re certainly going to be trying a bunch of new techniques in our videos this year! Let the challenge begin!
It is pretty easy to cast once you get a hand of it, and it’s a work horse. Despite the weight and size, I would want anything else in my reel destroying hands than my VSX 200
You make it look so easy!! I hate fishing off the Town Dock in Port Washington because it's a lousy spot. I was hoping to catch some snappers, but nothing. Would you mind divulging where this spot is? Ever think about teaching? You're easy going and logical. Think about it. Thanks!
I prefer my Lami insane surf 10’ over my saltx 10’6” when it comes to fun fishing and throwing anything light or anything with treble hooks. It’s just a super fun rod that can handle 1-3oz lures and you feel the fight all throughout the rod. The SaltX I save for if I’m strictly fishing heavy water or big plugs or bucktails. I call it my montauk stick, because of how heavy action it is, and how long the butt is. Matched with my van Staal, I use it as a walking stick for the rocks out at montauk.
I used to fish steel leader until they kept biting them off and in the clear water, it wasn’t producing as many bites. I typically fish 60-80lb mono when targeting blues now and rarely get bitten off unless they go for my knot or barrel swivel
I’m trying to apply that same method to fresh water fishing but I know I can’t use baits that heavy but I am having a very difficult time. How would you guys approach fresh water?
For fresh water I recommend learning the basic fish you’ll see and think about what you want to catch. A lot of fish or a big fish? Bass-sneako(these worms are my most consistent way to catc them) Panfish- multiple fish fall into this but lookup the term. They like a small hook and worm on a bobber. Or a small jig. You’ll end up catching bigger fish too sometimes so this is one of my favorite ways Pickerel- toothy fish that like fast moving baits like spoons These are the basic guys I’ve been learning about. Good luck and look up weedless setups too
"Bluefish will go after anything." I could show you the teeth marks in my kayak paddles from cruising around the harbor at night. Please keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times.
Thanks for an informative video. CATCHING a blue fish off the beach is on my bucket list. At 81 i.hope that this is the year. Grandpa Jack

Love these types of videos! Keep them coming!!!!! Next video how to find these kind of spots? Reading the water?
Thanks so much!! Sure thing! We’re focusing a lot on teaching this year in our videos, along with the awesome cinematics that we like to produce!
That my favorite spot to fish I work around the corner so I go before work often. Great fishing! 🤙
what is this spot called?
Thus the reel works just like it should. I've had it and used it for some time now. It's my go to reel.
You know what would be nice? If once in a while you divulge the fishing places for us non Long Islanders. Once in a while I will like to go to a place in Long Island an have me some fun. Not the obvious places. Your videos are really awesome. Keep them coming.
Unfortunately these vloggers won’t reveal their spots.
Because they put in days/weeks to find these spots then people just expect to get it for free? Nah
It's free fishing.
They also expect people to like and follow their channel. So, why not let people know where the fish are? You probably are one of those who never let people know where the fish are. It's a sport, not a business!!!
@@Hawaiion you never got anything for free? Lol

I just caught my first blue fish off the beach at top sail island this past weekend. One of the coolest moments in my life so far
I’m on Long Island and struggle to finds spots like this. Please let me in on this amazing spot!
He is so selfish. He want every beach for himself. You just keep watching his videos and be a suscriptor. He dont give a F.....

I'm in North New Jersey and Bluefish puts up the best fight
The white Jeep Wrangler last night that was waving to you guys on Route 27 was us😁… keep up the awesome content..🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
That’s awesome!!! Thank you!
Great clean and clear video . Can you do a bluefish video where you fish off a pier . I have that limiting situation

OMG nice fishing, I will love coming fishing with you, I will be around until July 4 .
Regards for Erica.

Nice aerobic blues!!!
I live nearby and want to start surfcasting. I have no idea where to start, need help
By me giving you a thumbs up on every episode means i enjoyed your video without commenting, Peace.
Awesome Video and content!
Mag darters are irresistible in the rip!
Well done!
They sure are! Thanks for watching!
Awesome video Paul! That guy choked that whole mag darter. Crazy! Love seeing you out there catching up some blues. I love watching your videos man. Seems like they were at the end of your cast. The fight is better that way 🎣🤙
Thank you very much! I appreciate that! Yeah, those hits far out make for great fights!
The Mag D is always deadly. My favorite daytime blue/bass lure is a 6” loaded cordell with single tail siwash.
Very good video pointing out what to check on your gear and explaining what to look for & your techniques your videos are not like the rest that’s what makes them good.👍
Thank you very much for that! Good luck out there 😁

agree. If I know I'm casting to bluefish, I'm going single hook
Very informative, thanks
Thanks!!
Awesome video dude. Love it!!!🤙🤙🤙
Thanks man!
I see you have the lamiglas insane surf and I was thinking of buying one but I heard they snap after a bit and was wondering if that is true
Quick question . How’s that van staal 200 reel ? Is it heavy ? Easy to cast ?
It is pretty easy to cast once you get a hand of it, and it’s a work horse. Despite the weight and size, I would want anything else in my reel destroying hands than my VSX 200
Dude when that bluefish jumped at you things could of been ugly lol. Love the rod you have!
haha yeah! It is a great rod!
Ditch the treble hooks, crush the barb and use a J hook
💯💯
In Australia we call Bluefish "Tailor." It's the same species though 😉
I have a question what place is that where u fishing
south shore, on the bay. but a fisherman never gives away their exact spots!
What size mag darter are you using?
were you fishing incoming tide?
Great video 👍 Thorough explanation What model rod and length ?
How do you retrieve this type of lure?
What was the brand of your rod pls ?
Why’d you let that bluefish back ? Can’t you keep them any size ?
I was wondering the same thing
What are the name of those specific lures you used.
He might have said the name of that lure 497 times in the first half of the video alone
What a nice video. What brand reel and rod you use
You make it look so easy!! I hate fishing off the Town Dock in Port Washington because it's a lousy spot. I was hoping to catch some snappers, but nothing. Would you mind divulging where this spot is? Ever think about teaching? You're easy going and logical. Think about it. Thanks!
South shore back bay baby!!
Where is this spot at ?
Why don’t you use a metal wire instead of mono line?
What line are you using?
Power pro 20lb braid with 20lb mono leader
Low professor Red bottom where are you fission please
Where in li is this.
Nice video.
Thank you!
do you like your salt x rod better or your new lamiglas? which one is MORE sensitive?
I prefer my Lami insane surf 10’ over my saltx 10’6” when it comes to fun fishing and throwing anything light or anything with treble hooks. It’s just a super fun rod that can handle 1-3oz lures and you feel the fight all throughout the rod. The SaltX I save for if I’m strictly fishing heavy water or big plugs or bucktails. I call it my montauk stick, because of how heavy action it is, and how long the butt is. Matched with my van Staal, I use it as a walking stick for the rocks out at montauk.
That's why I go braid to steel leader
I used to fish steel leader until they kept biting them off and in the clear water, it wasn’t producing as many bites. I typically fish 60-80lb mono when targeting blues now and rarely get bitten off unless they go for my knot or barrel swivel
what’s the good color luer for night?
Black and blue 🤙🏼🤙🏼
I’m trying to apply that same method to fresh water fishing but I know I can’t use baits that heavy but I am having a very difficult time. How would you guys approach fresh water?

What lb line are you using? I have 15 lb braided
20lb braid, 20lb moon
I use 60 lb Andy leader
Süper bluefish ❤
Hi name of the place please address?
You never actually showed how you worked the darter lol. Thanks for the vids
I believe it was the video I uploaded before this one where I dedicated the entire video to fishing the mag darter. What a sick bait that thing is!
this is great my friend congratulations. can you write the exact location of this place?
FISH FISH FISH.FISH ARE COOL

"Bluefish will go after anything." I could show you the teeth marks in my kayak paddles from cruising around the harbor at night. Please keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times.
