About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

This and Outside are such amazing outbursts of art.
also the guitar in this album is so nasty it's amazing
This and outside are one of my favourite albums of all time little wonder was always my favourite idk why it's just crazy but amazing it was
'Outburst of art' is exactly the right description, good work with that one!
Agree!
Hard to believe that I’m watching this here and now in a world where David only exists in memory and media. The band he had on this tour were phenomenal - I’d argue his very best. I saw him in 1992, then at a festival show on this tour (the absolute best performance - in my top 10 favourite gigs ever at The Phoenix Festival - you can find it here on RUclips), and then a year or so later in an intimate club gig.
The world is a better place for having artists like Bowie and Prince in it, and one that has forever tangentially shifted since their untimely departures onwards. What a gift of treasures their legacies are for us and generations to come.
You saw DB live in 1992, was that with Tin Machine, or maybe the Mercury tribute? I didn’t know he played solo in between the Sound and Vision tour and the Outside tour.
Literally. His body was cremated and dispersed into the sea off Bali. No direct remnant of his physical form exists.
Stupendo , condivido tutto ciò che hai scritto 👍⚡⚡🌟⭐🌦🌞🌝BOWIE ♥️💫♥️💫 TUTTA LA VITA - CIAO GENIO 😭💘💘💫💫💫💫💫🤼♂️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐🌟⭐🌟🌈🌈🌈
@@のんちゃんのんびり Wembley Stadium for the Freddie Mercury Tribute with Mick Ronson. That was the song of the day that broke me! 🥲
i love this album so much no one will ever be as creative as david was
My favourite song in the album is either Little Wonder or I’m Afraid Of Americans, in my personal opinion they are both amazing songs.
@@lorisfarringtonphotography Mine is Dead Man Walking 💜
EARTHLING UNDERRATED ALBUM
Agreed° I remember when it came out a lot of the long time fans I knew refused to buy it meanwhile I fell in love with him. more after it... He went on tour with NIN around that time and he was the headliner... I was told the stadiums would empty after NIN and barely anyone would stay for Bowie... I was shocked to hear that...
CRIMINALLY underrated
I took a few listens but when it clicked I had this album on repeat for months
criminally underrated*
Sure is
@@dolaylitumlec it was NOT underrated. by the music press in 1997. It had very good reviews over the world at the time, and one million copies’and more was bought at the time. Just, remindber, David Bowie sold over 140 million of his albums during his life, and he is the most listening dead légende now on Deezer, Spotify, ….réfléchissez un peu avant d’écrire n.importe quoi. Excusez mon anglais, mais votre commentaire et beaucoup d’autres m’exaspère. Love on ya !
One of my favorites, Bowie's 90s were really brilliant. I hope they release the Seven Years in Tibet, Dead Man Walking and Telling Lies videos.
Same
OMG yes!!
Check the channel now. You're getting your wish. And it's awesome! 😁
I love that David's artistry is so multifaceted. Every aspect has a significance.
I love how happy he seems in these 90s onwards interviews!
He was I think the music in the 80s was the pop chart type of music he hated but it was what the record company wanted even though it made him a lot of money I think he was glad to going back to the music he liked remember Bowie wrote music for himself not the fans he once said it's a bonus if they liked it lol such a great man I was lucky to see him live a number of times through the 80s, 90s
He was artistically fulfilled and domestically very blissful.
This album was so exciting and inspiring at the time, even though I was disappointed he had moved away from the planned series of albums that started with Outside. 1997 was such a good year for music, and Earthling remains one of David's most underrated and creative albums.
The part where he said that he cannot imagine stop working really hit the feels.😞
Hit me too 🥺
A master of everything, David is still the most unique artist of entertainment.
It's not an entertainment, it's a portal to a better world.
It would be nice, I mean an absolutely fantastic RUclips event if David Bowie's RUclips channel
had a Live Chat with some of the people David worked with. I believe Brian Eno would be up for it,
along with Iggy Pop, maybe Toni Visconti, Robert Fripp, members of Queen, Trent Reznor, Ian Hunter,
Nile Rodgers, that list goes on. Plus, you could have artists like St Vincent who was influenced by David,
along with many others. David's channel could have different artists at different time slots.
The event could be all day long.
Seriously, I think it's a great idea.
They could also have live donations to a favorite charity.
We should do these events while we still have the opportunity to.
THIS. Totally agreed
So true.
I love his look here so much! The jacket, the eyeshadow, the JACKET... ugh!
Love your excitement about it!!! Much agree!
Have you ever heard of the Yakuza games? You might like Goro Majima.
You gotta love it how he'd always worn the patch over his good eye... 😅😂😂😂😂
Depth perception is overrated 😂
I remodeled my first house years later to this album. Doing it alone, it kept me going strong through all the long days and nights.
Hello Kristan..
I can't believe David Bowie invented eye patches!?!? what a legend
Johnny Kidd and the Pirates, 'Shakin' All Over' via Bowie performing 'Rebel Rebel' on Dutch TV.
It's kinda sad, seeing him so excited about this album, and knowing that it would go on to become one of his most underrated.
"And I love creating characters, and narrative...and, and creating scenarios..."
We know, David. We've heard about Ziggy Stardust. 🥰💙
Wow! I was at the Boston Avalon concert in 1996 where "Seven Years in Tibet" premiered, and I remember seeing notices posted around that Virgin would be filming the concert. I had no idea until just now, 25 years later, that some of that footage ended-up in this promotional video!
I saw him live during this tour. Best concert of my life. Thank you for the video.
Una de mis épocas favoritas de Bowie. El álbum no es el favorito de muchos pero que importa, creo que tiene canciones geniales. Lo escucho cada semana y nunca me canso de Little Wonder, Seven Years in Tibet, Dead Man Walking y The Last thing. Uno de mis más grandes tesoros es mi copia firmada por Bowie, con fecha del 97.
Te envidio profundamente.
One of my favourite albums, for a moment I feel like he was still alive.
This was a great time in David's life, you can hear it in the energy and exuberance of Earthling, which still sounds fantastic today!
"Little Wonder" is a great song & the album at the time when released in 1997 was timely b/c 90's electronic/techno/industrial music was reaching it's peak. Not sure though in 2021 if it aged well. What do you all think?
I am a huge fan, but to me, this album reveals an artist a bit desperate to stay ahead. Not as smiling as he used to be either. But the live version of "always crashing.." from the tour beats EVERYTHING.
He’d have loved grime I guess
I think for me, Little Wonder and Earthling as a whole, despite the current trends at the time, it feels fresh. I don't think it aged all that badly.
Dated related to what?
It's definitely a bit dated, but probably in the best way possible. It's got that 90s charm to it. David's just having fun with a Drum N Bass album and that's awesome
"It's a crystal...nothing more. But if you turn it this way and look into it, it will show you your dreams..."
~Jareth the Goblin King
This album was ahead of his time❤️
2:34 this Union Jack outfit made by Alexander is great
This Earthlling album was ahead of 1997, I still listen this now in 2021 skeptic in a world without the physical presence of Bowie.
Same. I remember where I was in 97 when it came out. Seoul. What an album.
My parents got me the Earthling CD for Christmas that year. I was amazed with just how cutting edge the sounds were. To this day, the album still gives me goosebumps.
This album is ahead of it's time in the year 2021, rock on David Bowie!! Xoxo ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘❤️ princess
This is one of the best uploads I've watched on Bowie in a long time! Great footage & insight into the Earthling album & still my favourite concert of all time (Shepherds Bush Empire)!
I really like full album and my fav track is "Seven Years in Tibet". ;)
This album and the Dissonance tour with NIN was so damn good
Love this album.
Gail's last "notheeeeeing" in 7 Years in Tibet always gets me.
It's my favorite part of an awesome song!
This is so amazing, he's such a creative genius, love how he gets his inspiration from all angles
Between 0:25 min and 1:11 min, he looks like 1974 "Halloween Jack" - persona 2.0 : )
Love this Album. Please upload the videos: Seven years in Tibet, Dead man walking, I'm afraid of Americans, Telling lies.
When you go for a David Bowie interview and you get a Majima Everywhere quest

I'm glad they uploaded this. Earthling is a cool album.
I lost my fiance last year and David Bowie was one of his faves. I hope they got to meet in the afterlife ❤️
This album gets more and more respect from me with time. Love the videos from this era!
EYEPATCH DAVID
You love David.
i love ``OUTSIDE`` and ``EARTHLING``
why does he wear eyepatch over his healthy eye?
can’t believe how much I miss him, such a big hole in music
David Bowie took me to new places in music I never would have gone without him. He expanded my taste in different genres and expanded many of his fan's minds with his personal genius.

Thank you very much for precious footage💕 Bowie is always cool…✨
the ending almost made me tear up, he really meant that :') blackstar...
I didn't know he was poorly when I saw blackstar and lazarus music video. I just thought he was grey, you know older, but still absolutely gorgeous gentleman. He was so brave, I remember the day be passed away my Mum and I 😭 sobbed. It broke my heart ❤ and even watching thid video upset me, especially 💔 the end
I still listen to Little Wonder everyday!!!!
love this album!!!!!!!!
that union jack jacket is the fucking shit. plus, bowie reprising the role of halloween jack with the eye patch is cool as fuck. he is a god.
Alexander McQueen also gone but not forgotten
Anyone know what DAW is being used at 1:49? I remember reading this album was recorded entirely to a computer hard disk, which was cutting edge for 1997.
he was so amazing
Ugh Bowie, you shouldve done 2.contaminations not Earthling... But i love You anyway
I would have loved that too but Earthlings is still a great album
@@ryobibattery True. At least we got Im afraid of americans which is outtake from Outside cowritten with Eno

Cuando van a publicar el Live in MSG 50th Celebration ?? Vendanlo fisicamente !!!
i love you
For some reason, I avoided listening to Bowie's albums after the Let's Dance album. His other stuff was so good and stupid me assumed the reviews for his later albums were crap.
It was a mistake as I been listening to his newer albums and I have to say, that the bad reviews are crap. I think Outside and The Next Day were just amazing. Maybe it was because he did his shift to more disco sound or some obscure reason, the reviewers gave him bad reviews. Maybe also because they are comparing to his older direction.
I think the newer albums are just as good, but just a different sound and maybe whoever was writing the bad reviews didn't give the albums a few listens. Me personally, I've listened to albums and at the first listen I didn't get it, but once you hear it a few times you start to like it. I didn't really appreciate Low but one day it just clicked. Now it's my favorite album.
(**By the way, that jacket he's wearing on the cover of Earthling is just amazing. )
I kinda want an album of rerecorded versions of older songs in that industrial rougher format. I think that would of been very cool.
LOL...the labels on the control panel at 7:30! Master/Slave. Gawd, I miss this man!!
Let me share.
David is eternally fascinating and beautiful.❤️
superb album
Yes it was fab'...
Guy knows his film speed
