      We have a lot of regulations but in most countrys in Europe you can own firearms. Im from Germany and i can mostly buy what i want as a sport shooter. We have a lot of nonsense rules like 10 round magazine limit for rifles or my favorite the minimal cartridge length for semi auto rifles. A rifle for sport shooting has to have a case length of 40mm or more 5.45x39, 7.62x39, 6.5 Grendel, .300 Blackout are bad. 5.56x45, 7.62x51 or even 12.7x99/50BMG is OK.

    The reason the AK's work so well in all conditions is the "low" precision specs. Not "high" precision. Gas powered, well oiled and not too precise, makes for a great weapon in the real world. The Blaser R8 is the perfect example of what a "high" spec weapon does on the battle field. Constant jamming, and poor reliability because it's built like an F1 racing car. Not fit for dirt, grit and mud.

    • @kennethgammon9303

      I disagree. This weapon was designed for an untrained peasant army. It''s shortcoming are numerous. I would take the M16 any day. It's a weapon for a professional soldier.

    • @Maxindifference
      @Maxindifference 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@kennethgammon9303 Untrained peasants like the Taliban or ISIS? The weapon that out lasts everything in the desert is the AK47. I used the M16 in the Army in the 80's. Firstly, the M16 barrel twist rate was too fast for the 55gn projectile. Not accurate at range. Second, the constant jamming of the bolt, which is why the bolt head needed assist. Third, the 5.56mm round has no punch compared to the 7.62x39mm. The VC would not worry about the M16 round penetrating solid objects or even trees etc. On the other hand the FN L1A1 SLR with a 7.62x59mm round was a beast. Got the VC jumping around too.

      The Kalashnikov is a WW2 design made for a poorly trained, peasant army. For that, it works quite well.

They cannot keep them on the shelves. AR15s/M16s are available, you can buy if you want, but they don't work as good in the trenches. Maybe in RUclips but not in reality.

    • @gruntman438
      @gruntman438 Год назад +4

      There are a few different subsets of engineering that you can pick from when you pick your major that would be applicable to firearms manufacturing:
      1) The most obvious would be Mechanical Engineering. Towards your last two years you'll be able to specialize more specifically into what would be relevant to firearms manufacturing. You could take courses such as Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, Strength of Materials, etc.
      2) Your second choice could be Chemical Engineering. Here, you would likely specialize more in manufacturing and materials engineering.
      3) Your other option could be Industrial Engineering. It's more of as a subset of Mechanical Engineering, and in general they are more focused on factory optimization and continuous improvement of the factory.
      After you complete your degree, you'd want to look at positions that focus on being a:
      - Manufacturing Engineer
      - Process Engineer
      - Firearms Engineer (Typically this is more of a Design role, but good designers SHOULD be involved in ensuring that the firearm that they design is manufacturable)
      - Industrial Engineer
      - Quality Engineer
      All are pretty relevant to the job. imo as a person with a background in Electrical Engineering, any engineer can go and work in a factory as a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, etc., your undergrad career as an engineer is more focused on the process of thinking as an engineer.

      It's a good design. Better, for a real war, than the M16 and similar NATO designs. As we see in Ukraine with a lot of western military equipment, which was designed for constant maintenance and low levels of usage. It is one thing to go on patrol, riding inside a humvee, shoot out with some Afghan villagers, then drive back to base to clean and fix your weapons. It is another thing to sit out in a freezing, muddy trench for days or weeks on end, fighting regularly throughout that period. Same with those German howitzers, which are excellent quality, but, they freaked out on us when we report they are breaking down, because, apparently, one is not supposed to fire them very much continuously. In this kind of war, that's an insanely stupid limitation.

    The amount of research and study it took to design that platform which originated from the m1 garand believe it or not and human brain power to invent and we have it in our finger tips we are lucky to be in 2023

    AK is a Schmeisser development! The principle of operation of the Sturmgewer rifle. Schmeisser developed the AK while in captivity in the USSR after World War II.

      I live in Ukraine. Interestingly, I have heard this story, not officially but just as a rumour people know. It's a great design, regardless. Some of our elite units are given M16s and use them for propaganda photos, but, footage from the front shows, once they get out into the mud and trenches they ditch the M16s and take AKs instead, often, interestingly, new-made copies of the old style AKM.

      @@WangMingGe ну то спілкуймося Українською земляче😁
      Про м16 нічого не скажу, а ось ар15 бачив. Таке собі. Здається тендітним. В мене був новенький ак74 "дерев'яне весло". Мені сподобався😉

      В Ростові??? цікаво. Відмінна стрільба! AR15 схожий на M16, але зазвичай напівавтоматичний, для комерційного продажу. Відмінний зовнішній вигляд, той же внутрішній механізм. Живу у Вінниці.@@user-hv6qe3xq2f

      So the AK has a tilting bolt?
      Schmeisser has nothing to do with the AK.

    Who are they building Full Auto AKMs for?
    I'd get it if these were Semi Auto for civilians who want a classic wooden AK, but these are all full auto?
    Is any army still buying brand new AKMs with wood furniture?

    • @WangMingGe
      @WangMingGe 7 месяцев назад

      In Ukraine we still use them. I don't know why. I thought they were locally made, since we do still have an AKM factory in Ukraine.. But, maybe I am mistaken and some are Polish ones. Some of are elite units, which use M16s and NATO-everything for the PR photos drop them and switch to AKMs once they are at the front. An interesting little detail one sees in some independent media. Beautiful, excellent looking AKMs, but the old design, not the M16s which are so hyped on US youtube channels about guns. So yes I guess some armies are buying brand new AKMs with wood furniture. Why, I don't know except maybe reliability and, also, ability to use captured/stockpiled Cold War ammo. Plus (this from an independent Ukrainian media source interviewing soldiers), the Soviet steel and tungsten core ammo is supposedly much better for penetrating armour than whatever 5.56 is being given as aid. And, everyone now is wearing armour, unlike Vietnam and Afghanistan.

    2:24 it must delight Putin that there's a gas chamber inside an AKM, although it's not what he thinks it is.
