the front fairing and the seat cowl would totally transform this bike
Yeah the fairing looks good, and has some vintage style to it.
Congrats on the purchase. I just leveled up to the '23 XSR900 in blue from the 2017 FZ07. I just passed 1k miles here in NC and ordered the Yoshi AT2 exhaust yesterday. I look forward to your mods and inspiration on the build.
I painted the exhaust on my 2024 w/ a black high-temp ceramic paint. Makes a huge difference!
Congrats man!
Can't wait to hear the exhaust upgrade, hope you do it properly as just revving it stationary with no load is just sad.
It's would be nice to see and hear a mountain pass rip!
FLY BY DUDE!!!🤠
I got mine a week or so ago. I've already done the airbox mod, sprint filter and flash. Waiting on an exhaust now. Spark full titanium and sc project s1 are my favorite ones but no one state side has them in stock. I've also done the gp shift pivot from vcyclenut, tail tide from nrc, clear tank grips and protector. I have scs to 1 but otherwise exact same settings. 750 miles and it's been the best bike I've ever owned. Previously I have ninja 650, 636 and a 2017 r1 and this beats them all for usability and comfort and just riding joy. My youtube history is about 30 xsr/mt09 videos a day so whatever you make I'll watch lol
Nice, diving in already and having fun.
If you flash it, do you have to get it dynoed?
@@Rufio1975 nope. It's effectively the same thing without the dyno. Vcyclenut has done extensive testing on pretty much every exhaust/intake combination so you just tell him your mods and he flashes a map he designed for those mods on his dyno. It's cheaper than dynoing and if you're like me without a dyno near its the best/only option. Im really happy with the results.
@@admireinspire
Right on. Thanks man. Much appreciated.
2023 XSR900 here.. blue/gold wowie!! A total home run.. The Standard by which all other 900ish bikes are compared..
That race kit looks pretty sick! Go for it amigo!
I've had this bike for over 6 months with an M4 Exhaust and while I thinks its the best sounding exhaust for the xsr900, it's also ridiculously loud. I don't mind it since I ride with earbuds though. Also, the fairing and seat cowl are nice, but I'd take a look at S2 Concept fairing for an even more classic cafe look. Hope you have fun with the XSR!
I would strongly suggest getting the cowling. It greatly transforms the look of the bike into a more retro bike.
The aftermarket parts from Brogue and others that are becoming available for the 22+ XSR900s totally make that bike an awesome addition to the fleet. The headlight is plastic, the tail and seat have to go... So much you can do to make it yours. What aftermarket parts do you crave?
Nothing HAS to go. Relax and enjoy the bike.
@@braaaaaaaaaaap good point. I just get excited at how much can be done. Nothing to go for sure.
How about some Peg Lowering brackets? maybe an inch? might make my own..
Thank you, Alex, and Congrats on the sweet ride.
I almost bought one but found a new ‘22 Street Triple RS for $2200 off and couldn’t resist. I’m thinking about getting Road 6 also.
I have a 2023 MT 10 and I love it!! I traded my 2022 Kawasaki Z900 RS cafe for it. I did demo this bike also (2023 XSR 900) and it is a great bike. Very very good!!
BTW the Michelin Road 5 and 6 are great tires. I put the Road 6 on my Z900 and they were night and day compared to the OEM Dunlop GPZ 300. My MT 10 has Bridgestone Battlax S22 as OEM and I love them so far with just 1000 miles on them. I will probably go back with the Battlax S22 or S23 when it's time. I just really like the profile of the tire. The turn/tip in is sooooo good. So sharp and they are very confidence inspiring.
I lucked out and was able to snag a 23 two weeks ago down near Tampa. I'm in love with this bike! I was looking at the exact same exhaust! I bet it would look really good on this bike! Looking forward to future content!
Enjoy! Road trips are good content. Exhaust is hideous, so def. go with your idea of change there. And rare do I say modify a bike, but your ideas are spot on. Although, I might not mess with the levers.
I just went to my local dealer and saw the 2024 with its beautiful colors (white and red with gold wheels), and I am infatuated. I have a 2018 SV650 that I love (and it’s my favorite paint scheme of that bike) so I’m torn. I want more power and tech, but I love my current bike and how it looks. Do I need more power? No. Do I want it? Yessir.
Exhaust recommendations: If you haven't purchased a system yet, look at the M4 system. Uses a belly muffler and a side exit tip muffler combo. Looks quite good.
Looking for the most horsepower with ECU flash? Not sure what brand offers that, but Akrapovic usually does a good job with their headers.
Good Choice! I pulled the 2023 blue as well. Golly, wish I could buy stock in XSR900.. Can't imagine what isn't perfect here. I added a small wind deflector around the screen, might go a little bigger, Thinking another inch lower on the pegs, tires are fine for my skill level (Intermediate). I like a seat with a shelf.. The quick Shifter is The Standard, and will obsolete automatic transmissions for drag racing at least. Ford has Rev Matching in their new Mustang but you still have to use the Clutch!! Worth an easy half a second! Bitch gets her own bike, there will be no passengers on this bike.. I like the stock muffler.. all tucked up underneath, out of the way. Might do a Tail job but not there yet. I made a parking "Holster" for the garage. The Blue is good, but probably would consider a red bike. ONE Complaint!! The Steering turn radius is very wide for garage handling. No idea why they did this? The XSR is a Great Choice. My next in line was the Triumph Street Triple, not so much the Kawasaki Z900RS.
Look at the LeoVince LV Race exhaust. I have it on my 2023 XSR900 and a couple of RUclips vids on it. Looks and sounds great. Easy and direct fit install with no modifications needed.
Own a '22 raven XSR900. Great bike. SC Project exhaust are good. I am waiting for that. Also running the Michelin ro ad 6 daily. May get a set of track slicks soon. Was running some Bridgestone before.
I’ve heard that CS Racing will be releasing an exhaust for this bike. I have one and I can tell it’s amazing
Dominator gp3, just installed on my 23’ xsr900 fits perfectly, and a tune by bauce racing. Awesomeness
Went with the Dual can dominator.. not sure what the model number is.. but sort of quiet.. VCYCLENUT flash. Awesomeness as well!
Killer bike. Would have held out for one if I didn't find a great deal on a Street Triple.
I have the M4 exhaust on my xsr and it's all black and i love the understated look while it also sounds fantastic winding up.
For those that have an xsr and want the oem cowl set, theres a guy on ebay thats based out of europe that sells and ships to the states! Yamaha doesnt have them available stateside
Beautiful bike! Thanks for posting.
How about an install of a Yoshimura fender eliminator kit? To me that’s about the classiest one for the bike.
Hey I'm down in littleton! Have the 23 xsr900 and my bro has the 21 09sp with the sc project exhaust if you want to do a comparison!
I think you have the front tire mounted on backwards, if you look at the tire grooves on the front tire they are backwards compared to the back tire so I think the front is put on backwards, somebody correct me if I am wrong?
Nope, they're just weird looking tires. The Road 5s were like that too, I always thought I had em on backwards
I actually agree. The groove on the outside will contact the road first, then channel the water to the center of the tire. That can't be right.
Have the Yoshimura on my Gen III MT09. Love the sound and it stays tucked under the bike.
love it, hoping they bring back the black and the GP accesories.
I have a 2021 MT09 and I have the MIVV x5 exhaust and its amazing.
Picking mine up on Thursday 😁😁😁😁😁
Did they ever release the fairing and cowl, or did they pull it make the GP more desirable?
I prefer Bridgestone S22's for more spirited riding and better grip, Road 5/6 are definitely great sport touring tires though just expensive. On my gen 1 XSR900 I had a full Akra racing loop exhaust system with a 2 Wheel Dynoworks ECU flash and that transformed the bike/sound of the CP3 beautifully and let it sing at higher RPM's and bark down low. If the R9 doesn't come out I'm definitely considering a new gen MT09/XSR900 again as a 2nd fun bike because the CP3 was by far my favorite motor to ride on and I really miss it.
How is 2 🆙 , are passengers more comfortable than mt09 ..??? And is the ride really compromised with a passenger..??? Would love❤to hear about passenger complaints and rider feedback , thx 🙏 in advance
Alex, TAKE IT OUT FOR A RIDE IN THE NEXT ONE... 🙏....IT WOULD BE COOL TO HEAR THE BIKE GET USED PROPERLY ON SOME BACK ROADS ..... TAKE US FOR A CHILL ROAD TRIP SOMEWHERE..🙏😁✌️ HAVE A BEAUTIFUL MONDAY EVERYONE..
I love your new bike! I was wondering if you could make any suggestions for equipping this thing with luggage for some weekend touring?
congrats thats what i wanna get but get the kelpi exhaust and the kelpi cushioned seats. also get the blue ringed blinkers
How about going beyond the normal flash and pipe and seek out something internal like cams? Makes for a bigger project that you might be able to stretch over an episode or two. 🤷🏻
I'd love to see someone install steel braided lines on one of these. I love my XSR, but the front brake is a little spongy and the rear shock needs an upgrade.
I already own xsr700 and i don't want to keep the same round headlight styling. Otherwise this 900 would be my next bike.
Can the sxr900 be used as a light touring bike?
I have this bike and I'd say no, unless you change the seat and make the bars higher.
Any bike can be used for touring. The comfort level depends on the rider
But why this over the street triple r..... the striple is even a touch cheaper.
Yamaha Cafe Race kit would make it look neat.
Kepli exhaust from Australia amazing sound and good on the dyno
Please can you make a top speed video with it ?❤🙏
What exhaust did you wind up with? Does it sound much better?
I have the TBR exhaust from the mt-09 on my xsr and it sounds great
How good is the wheelie control system I heard there’s multiple modes could you show the angle of each setting?
Is the Road 6 better than the Battlax S22 the bike comes with? I have the same bike and I really like the S22s but I see a lot of people using the Road 6s.
I am considering both what’s the difference in the riding experience?
I did the sc project crt exhaust on mine and love it
Great looking bike! I would replace that front master cylinder...the OEM one looks like a wart!
They should have just released this bike with the race kit. Looks much better
I am between the Kawasaki z900 SE and the xsr 900. Having a tough time choosing. Either way I have to order it and wait
Where was this filmed? Beautiful scenery!
Road 5/6 can be spirited riding on dry?
Any updates on the xsr?
Cool bike besides that funky looking seat. It’s like the design team gave up with they got to the tail end.
I have Road 6’s on a Tracer. They’re very versatile and confidence inspiring. 👍🤪🇨🇦
I'd like to see some slow speed maneuvers. One reviewer was talking about the limited steering lock angle, thanks.
I have this bike, the turning circle is not good to be honest. Its no problem most of the time but for tight maneuvers and especially when wheeling it around out of the garage etc its quite noticeable. I can live with it though.
Ride the rear brake and 0 issues with any bike doing low speed maneuvers.
@@ganuvien yea it's perfectly doable just might surprise you if you're not expecting it. And no getting around it when you're pushing it around.
First of all: fly eagles fly. Second, great choice, just picked up this bike myself. Had the first Gen this one is definitely a more grown up version. Lol. Will be keeping an eye on future content
My father in-law test rode one, and said that it would probably wheelie under full throttle. Is that the case?
How’s the long distance mileage from Connecticut to Florida per-say?
what do you know about all the videos of the new mt09/xsr900 where the chassis breaks?
I was seriously looking at this motorcycle until the recent redesign. That seat is fugly and fugly enough that I ended up purchasing an MT-09.
Let's see some Colorado mountain riding. Nice bike good choice
Where did you hear that rumor about the exhaust for the new xsr900? I heard someone on the reddit say that but with no proof lol
Is the front tire directional? Cause the tread is going the opposite of the rear lol
Can you install a cafe racer kit on it. That would look sick!
upgrade the rear shock!
Congrats!
Why does the front tire look backwards?
It's not backwards
@@birddogz545definitely is, back is correct
Is that front tire installed in the wrong direction or is it just me?
How many hour of ride time can you last on that seat? It looks thin
You ever take off some sweet jumps?
Well I bought 23 in black
I'm not super knowledgeable about bikes, but is the front tire directionally on backwards?
My thought as well.
Interestingly, Zack at RevZilla rated the MT07 above the XSR900, and various sources picked the MT07 over the MT09, especially as a 'funner' bike! Next I have to find comparisons between the MT07 and SV650, which is my personal 'slicer and dicer' on Skyline Drive (renamed Tree-line Drive by moi as the government has allowed the mother nature's wilderness to block most of the beautiful views along the drive and even at many of the "overlooks") The question is whether the MT07 is $8,000 better than my $1,500 SV650? Edit: watched a video today where the content creator explained why he picked the SV650 over the MT07 and I agree with his reasons.
Skyline drive in northern nj by any chance ? 👀
You want a punchy twin, go with the GSX-8S. It's got better bones than the MT-07, more horsepower and torque, better technology, and doesn't bust the bank. Check out Zach's review on the Revzilla channel.
@@exothermal.sprocket Good suggestion, I'll look into that. I'm a big fan of the Big four Japanese motorcycle manufacturers. But the older I get, the more I appreciate Suzuki and what they do to bring value to the market for bread and butter guys like me.
@@sk8orhate55 in Virginia the northern tip of Skyline Drive begins at Front Royal Virginia. And ends near Charlottesville Virginia, where the Blue ridge parkway begins heading further south. I'm at the Sperryville/luray Virginia access point.
@@papatorr3669 Suzuki may take forever to put out new equipment, but the stuff they eventually put out, it's very well done.
Nice Bike!
I was about to say the SC Project..😅
My XSR is from 2023 and it's black 🤔
Reminds me of my old z1000 🤤
If you already had the MT-09, then why buy the XSR900?
Because it looks way better and handles better thanks to a longer swingarm. Also higher foot pegs.
Supposedly the newer frame makes a massive difference in handling from what i've heard.
It's a fantastic motor.
Yamaha has some Scramblery looking accessories
These are hard to find. Every one i see has a 1.5k mark up.
I want to test ride one but can’t find one 😂
Mods! Do videos as you mod the bike
That gosh darned HORN location...it's like a spot on the TV that once you see it you can't not see it!!
Is this bike $8,000 better than my Honda Hornet 919 that I picked up for $2,500?
Yes, it's only 20 years newer, has YZF-R1 electronics, a charismatic triple, weighs 60 pounds less weight. What kind of experience are you after? Some folks would say a Honda Super Cub would be better, if it cost a couple thousand less.
@@exothermal.sprocketI will trust you and concede the weight difference offhand. But I'm wondering if you didn't answer a different question like is the XSR 900 arguably a better bike? Again I would concede that it probably is. But you're hurting me brother by implying that I would bring in a Super Cub into the comparison. Especially since I own it's older trail road version The CT110 with dual range transmission. So I'll make my own assertion: the SXR900 is no way in hell $8,000 better! 😅
@@papatorr3669 Hahaha. Well, if you want me to affirm what you already believe, you'll walk away from this conversation disappointed. For something to be specified as better or worse, you have to lay out the parameters. Money has a hard one to quantify, due to the nature of how manufacturers set up features. I am unaware of a product sold on planet earth that is perfectly linear in the dollar value vs. feature scale.
@@papatorr3669 I will say however, I do have personal experience with the Honda 919. My older brother owned one for a few years and I had some time on it. For whatever reason, the engine was vibrating pretty badly and getting worse. Probably tuning was off. He had Sato exhaust slip ons and a downloaded tune via Powercommander. Other than this, pretty stock. At the time I had a 2008 Z1000 (953cc, engine based on the ZX-9R), which I found to be more refined. It was also somewhat quicker. I've had other bikes since, currently a stock 18 MT-09 which I want to sell due to the vast improvements Yamaha made to the newer 890cc model, namely the chassis and suspension. I've already demo'd the new version. But I'm not a horsepower fanatic so I'm also interested in the GSX-8S because I like the immediacy of a twin cylinder powerband.
Nice bike!
How tall are you? How you think it will fit someone 6" 2 (189cm) comparing to the new mt 09
I'm 5'10. You should go sit on one!
GP Racing accessories, maybe?
Front tyre is fitted wrong way round
The road 6 are sooo bad compared to the road 5. Just so you know. Great bike.
I can't believe that is the factory exhaust. Nice bike otherwise. Congrats!
Dominator GP3 exhaust for $500!
And then we never saw the bike again….😂
I test rode it today. Honestly, not that great.
Go birds ! 🦅
