In the summer of 2023 I taught my 10 year old Grandson the art of film photography with a Minolta Dynax 500si and 35-70mm lens. We learned to set the camera to shoot aperture priority and he had a lot of fun with it.

Keep it going guys. Enjoying it immensely.
Leica have had 2 lenses, (with various version) which had more than one focal length. Nicknamed the MATE (28-35-50mm f4) and the WATE (16-18-21mm). They were expensive.
My question is whether you have a way to log "wish list" items that you currently don't have in stock but will alert the person when/if you get that item at a later date.

Love the insight from the mechanics. If any of them are willing to answer I'd like to know what they think is the worst part of being a camera mechanic?

"the worst part of being a camera mechanic" - Aging BEATERS (poor condition) are the most problematic.
I always tell my customers, Beaters AREN'T Bargains.

Another great one, cheers. Question for your next Q&A: If you could bring any film stock back from the dead (from any brand, type, or format) which would you bring back and why?

Do you typically use or have access to service and repair manuals for all camera models? Or are these manuals available for specific cameras only? Additionally, do you purchase service and repair manuals for internal use?

Everyone says that mechanical cameras are easier to repair. But how much easier is it to repair similar cameras, like an OM1 vs an OM2, FM vs FE, MX vs ME Super, or M6 vs M7?
Sorry if only the mechanics can answer this question

"how much easier is it to repair similar cameras" - All of the ones you listed are "easy" - - - Unless an incompetent person worked on them before.

@@y2ktube the only mechanic I know and trust locally will only repair mechanical cameras. So he will repair an OM1, but refuse an OM2.
I guess that, due to the fact that he has a long queue of cameras to repair only accepting mechanical ones, he does not need to change this policy, but it’s kinda frustrating

@@filipecostapt6427 - "but refuse an OM2" - Sounds like he fears electronic cameras. The OM2 units are easy to fix/service...
