- Ramblings and musings after 7 months of ownership and 6,000 miles. A first time road trip to try out a Level 3 DC Fast Charger. I try a new EA station located at the VW factory facility in Chattanooga, TN. It's a first time for me charging at a Level 3 station.
As always thanks for watching!
I really enjoy your videos. You're enthusiastic about the F150 but also honest and realistic. I love EVs. I'm excited that Ford, GM, Polestar, and Rivian are all going to the NACS plug. It'll benefit EV adoption so much.
Glad you like them!
Supercharger for the win. Soon, Fords and others can use the Tesla Superchargers network.
It will be a game changer for ownership
I also have the 2023 Lightning XLT SR, in Antimatter Metallic Blue, cloth seats. I charge at home on the Emporia 48 Amp charger. Really love this truck ! I've had mine 5 and half months, and have put 5,300 miles on it so far. My wife loves to take trips with it, since it has such a smoooth ride. I've never been able to charge it at the 150 Kwh you experienced on your trip. That would be awesome. Mostly charge at the 62.5 Kwh chargers. I have used Electrify America chargers twice, but they wouldn't go has high as rated. Also, haven't received more than 243 miles on a charge. But have an update scheduled for Sunday night, so maybe that will improve. We will be traveling to Wilmington, NC tomorrow (120 miles) to visit grandson (he likes the truck too), so will have to charge once before returning home. Can't wait for the Tesla chargers to be available. Also, which tonneau cover do you have? Thanks for the videos.
Thanks for watching. It’s the undercover flex armor which has linex on it.
greetings- omg!you shared cool done!adios-=))
Thank you! Cheers!
You may have talked about it in your other videos, but were you able to use the free 250Kwh that came with your purchase of the truck?
It is not intuitive. It should have used that free 250kw when at EA, but it didn’t recognize when I plugged in and promoted me for payment. The way around it I’ve learned is to actually go in the FordPass app and activate the actual charger then it should work to use the free kw.
really good video. great job here, thatnk you for the amazing info.
Glad you enjoyed it!
How much did that charge cost?
$7.25
Having a mobile charger gives you the option that you could go to a campground and charge there
Yep. I bought the mobile charger and recommend everyone picks one up to have with an EV.
I tell people that I don't have range anxiety, it's charger anxiety. Will there be a charger? Will it be available? Will it work? Will it work well or will it take 20+ extra minutes? Why I can't wait for the Tesla supercharger network to be available to the Lightning!
Battery % is being added to regular driving screen (it's been on my wish list too! I really want dog mode like Tesla has)
I agree. Thanks for the watching.
What sort of loads are you carrying ?
Do you tow a trailer ?
I mean, it IS supposed to be a utility vehicle...
Occasionally tow a utility trailer . Weekly use the bed. How do you use your truck if you own one?
To me the real question is how a 100% charge compares to a full tank on a gas engine.
A lot cheaper cost wise in my experience
