You get a huge thumbs up from me 😂 I just bought a 2001 gz250 for $300 a few blocks away from my house and figured I’d just push it home instead of loading it up by myself and unloading it by myself! It’s been sitting for 8 years, no battery, no key or title! I got a battery, then instead of getting a key made for $150, I just ordered a whole new ignition plus 2 keys for $38 bucks. It’ll crank over if I run a wire from the battery to the starter so I tried it just to see if there was any life in her at all and yes, she’s definitely wanting to get up n go! Now I just have to clean everything out, drain all the old fluids etc and wait for my ignition to arrive and I’ll be set! 💯🤘🏼 UPDATE: I got the bike going and 100 percent road ready! 😎 It took a little doing, but I just took my time and everything went smooth! I repainted it and did some other bodywork on it as well, so she’s definitely shining now! This was definitely a great project for me, no doubt!
Starting my gz250 is like this video every time. Even if I rode it this morning. I go through batteries and can not figure out why it goes dead so often. Seems to be a common complaint and still a mystery, I love the bike, she's pretty blue and shiny with just over 3k miles but dang. Ijdk.
That seems fair for the price. If it is my first bike, it would be great. If you're wanting to keep it a little longer you might check out honda shadows. Not much more money but a huge upgrade.
That is not a bad price. However, you might keep looking around to see if you can snag one with lower miles. They are very common bikes and good deals for them are not rare.
@@IgniteLight yeah i wouldnt have known either if I didnt read the manual lol. I just got one of these yesterday got about 2 hours total riding time its so fun. Any tips for a new rider?
@@KillKyle712 probably nothing above what you've heard before. Ride defensively and as if you're invisible to other drivers.... because you basically are. Keep evasive maneuvers in your mind as you come up to intersections and other traffic. Try to ride out on county roads for a while, gives you a more relaxing ride so you can focus on becoming very good at control before the world throws obstacles at you. And have fun!

Still working on mine to get it running good. Working on a clone carb now to see if itll work better!
This is basically the situation my GZ is in right now. Been sitting in the garage for almost 15 years.

Awesome brother!
I love it bro.. I'm doing the same with the same bike
Hey man did you ever make any more videos on this bike? Just picked up an 01 would love to see some tune up videos.
I didn't. I puller the carb off, cleaned it... twice and then slipped some new tires on it. Runs great!
@@IgniteLight Thanks for letting me know man, will work on cleaning the carb tomorrow and getting it on the road!
video anda sangat bagus dan mempunyai mesej yang luas terima kasih
Would you pay $1500 for a 2006 Suzuki 250cc with 1300 miles? Or would you suggest grabbing a bigger bike?

@@IgniteLight thanks for the info, I found a Honda Shadow for $2,000 but has 40,000 miles on it; would you advise grabbing that?

Did you rebuild the carb? I just got a suzuki Gz250 with the same story. Gotta get it going.
Yes, rather simple process and runs quite well now.
Did u set the fuel tank to the prime position??
Sure did. Took me a while to discover newer motorcycles dont have off, on, and reserve.
