Great video gentlemen. I guess we'll have to wait until another episode to see Jonny's Purdey😉........ maybe there will be additional videos down the road- really enjoyed this look at a couple of JC's guns. The Gamba has an exceptionally quality made removable trigger as Lloyd pointed out. Well done chaps. Thank you from Missouri, USA.
Somewhere out there is my Grandfathers Darne that was stolen. It was the first center fire firearm i ever shot during my first actual hunting trip with my dad some 50 years ago. It was given to him by his priest at the start of WWI to keep it from falling into German hands as he was encouraged to return back to the US once fighting was eminent. He owned quite a few guns for a guy of his time and I’ve managed to acquire all the models that he had in his lifetime except for the one that was most special. Someday
when I was a mid teens age kid in the late 70's the guy next door and a few of his pals rented some marshes for wildfowling and used to drag me along, I remember that one of the guys went to France and had a Darne 3" mag specially made, it was quite the talking point I can remember, it certainly was a beautifully made gun and the only one I have ever seen until today
Issue for me is at £2500 you’d be into a used 486 as you mention or a very tidy AYA no2. More chance of you keeping either of those other 2 working long term as well.
Good to see you both, working together 👍 Do enjoy your banter ! I totally agree I would not shoot that gun ! As it looks as safe as jumping out airplane with out the parachute 😂.
Ive got one in 16bore, also with a stupidly short stock. However take in out to the clay ground or shooting pheasants and I guarantee in will cause more interest than any Purdy. Someone once told me it was designed so you could reload it in a hide, without having to bring the gun inside or large barrel movements , the thought being that on a conventional gun the barrels waving around scared the birds.
I had a darne. The worst thing about them is how relatively difficult it is to disassemble the barrel. Sold it it and went back to a silver pigeon for hunting.
@@lloydyp It's beyond me how you guys have 7-hour drives in a country the size of Michigan... Wild to me man. But believe it or not they do make video chat now... Just saying
The French were always great innovators in gun design. In fact, I think some of the British innovations were actually "borrowed" from their French "friends". Thought you might have mentioned some of the various Bretton models and then there are really beautiful Grangers. Unfortunately so many great examples of the gunmakers' art were destroyed by the NAZIs.
Lo unico que no me gusta es que no tiene reserva de cierre porque la palanca de apertura esta en el medio .eso me indica que el cierre ya esta a tope. O esa que ya no va mas alla. Y eso no SIRVEEEEEEEE

If only he didn’t live in bloody Hampshire. He couldn’t get much further away without a passport.

Or just use an auto...

When you say bring him back, it was a 7 hour drive to meet up for this vid. Might be a while before I do it again.
