Very important difference that these reviews miss:
The screen of the Cintiq 16 gets scratched easily because it has a textured coating over the screen as opposed to the Cintiq 16 Pro's etched glass.
Honestly, I would choose the pro for this reason alone. Unless you're a pretty light user, your screen is going to look scratched up after about a year.

Thanks for sharing- that's a great point. Perhaps I should've mentioned it in the video.
All the Cintiqs I've used have marks on their screen after about a year, so it's something I've come to expect. Personally, I find that it doesn't affect my work at all. I only notice it when the display is turned off.

Interesting! I upgraded to a cintiq pro a while back and the difference is night and day for me. The area I usually draw on my cintiq 16 is very noticeably scratched up when drawing on it whereas the pro screen looks untouched months later. I have read that swapping out your pen nibs periodically can alleviate this though.

I'm really considering getting a Cintiq in the future, I currently have a Huion Kanvas 13 and it has almost the same mate coating and I r e a l l y h a t e d i t, and honestly I just want to get a Cintiq for the better screen and pen
I think I'll have to get the pro even if it's more expensive xwx

I've been using cintiq 16 everyday for the last 1,5 years. It doesn't feel as textured as it used to be. More fine scratches building up and getting more and more noticable. Not that the scratch would alter the pen movement. I could honestly see myself using the cintiq 16 for more than 5 years . However, I'm planning to upgrade to the new cintiq 16 pro in the near future. I do think 4k is a little bit overkill, 2K is enough for crisp 16 incher, however, I need that extra color accuracy, etched glass and minimal parallax.

My 16 got a couple scratches from the pen (was drawing too hard as a novice artist) that actually affected linework. Thankfully I was already planning on upgrading but I'm still a bit upset that the texture surface is just a gimmick that I didn't know I needed to avoid.
Edit: I'm confident even with my firmer press that I would not scratch a pro screen the way it easily did on the regular version

The new Cintiq Pro 16 (2021) features the VESA mount and is compatible with the optional Cintiq 16 stand. The screen is also improved and brighter. Though, it seems to lost the SD card feature and additional USB port from the previous Pro 16. But that made it has no minus point now compared to the regular Cintiq 16, just better in every way I think.

Hi, thanks for this, I was considering the upgrade but it does not seem worth it after watching this review. One question: what is the desk stand that you are using at 5:35 and how do you deal with keeping your elbow floating for long periods of time? In terms of ergonomics, without taking breaks often, it might not be a much better solution, as it might hurt your arm, long term.

I've been drawing on tablets for 20+ years.
I had a cintiq pro and changed it for a 16 non pro.
The biggest problem is the screen colours, they are a bit out of whack.
Besides that, unless you are a perfectionist i don't think theres's any real reason to get the pro above the non pro.
Parallax is a non issue. non 4k Resolution is a non issue for me.
It's sturdily built and more than does the job. The main thing you want is the wacom quality of drawing which the competition still lacks, which is going to be more or less the same on both, so if you are neither rich nor anal about these things then go for the 16.

Its hard to cable manage. You can't grab the Tablet on sides when you adjust the stand.
With the PC on the right side you are wasting like 30cm of cable lenght & you need to bend the cables 90° degrees.
Your normal PC Monitor or your TV has the connecstions on the side, why on the tablet?

HI! In your opinion is the cintiq 16 pro (1st gen) still a good choice? I would to abbinate it to my mac studio.
    Thanks!

Hey Mario, yeah it's great - I'm personally still using the first generation Cintiq 16 Pro! The only reason I'd consider upgrading is for the VESA mounting capabilities

I do this often too! It's a great solution if you don't mind owning two tablets

Why these these Cintiq screens are twice more expensive than their competitors products like HUION and Xp pen? Actually Cintiq display is far less in brightness and other specs are not better either. Maybe be quality control and longevity.

I just found out about the 2021 Cintiq Pro, yeah looks like it does have a VESA mount! That's pretty cool

@@devonkong I dont undersand why Modern graphic cards do not include the usb c port, this forces to use all the cable mess of Cintiqs.

I shouldn’t buy cintiq 16 after this video… 16 pro much more better I guess. Usually I draw on ipad. Moving to cintiq 16 right after ipad looks like old dim tv with visible pixels bruh I can’t even watch it…

Touchscreen technology is an old overpriced garbage. You cannot rely on it in serious gaming or work
