Hogwarts, Sleepy Hannah, and Jeremy are BANNED from the comments, but we have a few other subscribers that are watching along with us. Please mark spoiler comments with a SPOILERS tag.

Hogwarts’ love for Shannon and her still not being over her death 4 seasons later is so special and rare. Love it!
I cannot wait to see her reaction for when it all comes together in The End...
yeah that's so great. I love Shannon too 💖💖
Richard was rejected by both the man of science(doctor) and man of faith(priest).
Never thought of it that way before!
Awesome catch!
Brian that Hanso thing was awesome. Never put that together myself.
Same!!
I had not as well. For a second I thought that was one of the orientation trainers fake names as well. Brian, we have to talk about stuff when the show is over. Brilliant!
I think this is one of the most impressive episodes, they´ve accomplished with Lost, almost felt like a movie. And always a good reminder that I should be learning more Spanish. Such a beautiful language....
I was looking forward to this episode since season 1. I also love how you included all the past episode flashback with the Hanso foundation and Magnus Hanso. There was another episode that referenced Magnus Hanso. I believe it was 2x17 "Lockedown" when Locke saw the blast door map and taking a much more closer look at the contents of the map you will see Magnus Hanso name in it at the "last known resting place." Your welcome.
Yes! I was gonna put that reference in, and then got distracted. lol
Awesome!
10:44 - Wait! He said the Black Rock set sail in 1845, then was lost at sea, with the ship's ledger being found 7 years later. At the beginning of the flashback it says "Tenerife, Canary Islands, 1867". Hmmm....
victorsixtythree I noticed that too.
There are a few weird continuity issues in this episode. The fact that the Man in Black tells Richard that he is the smoke monster creates the problem of why Richard never tells anyone this. Prior to Season 6 it was heavily implied that nobody knew what the black smoke was, yet apparently Richard (and Dogen for some reason) knew the whole time.
Well, it's also a completely different voyage than the one he was describing, as in they weren't taking the route that man mentioned, nor were they on that trading mission. Maybe that's what the world thought happened, but the island or Jacob had already interfered in some way so that things happened differently from how they were perceived by the outside world. There was also that scene before with Jacob and the Man in Black on the beach watching a boat coming to the island. Maybe that was the Black Rock in 1845, since in that flashback there was no storm and the ship wasn't crashing. And as far as the rest of the world knew, the ship had disappeared and never come back, until over 20 years later when it left the island to bring Richard back (thanks to Jacob), but of course history wouldn't know this, except for maybe the Hanso family, which also explains a lot about that.
My favorite episode of the whole show! Been waiting since day one for this!
It took me until know to realize that the black smoke ie the man in black spared Richard Eko and John was he saw them as people he could use and exploit to achieve his goal of leaving the island. He killed Eko once he was no longer able to use him.
Interesting...and that would fit with [spoiler...]
...when MIB slashed Zoe's throat in "What They Died For". Widmore told her not to talk to MiB, MiB slashed her throat and explained, "You told her not to talk to me. That made her pointless..."

The scene between Richard & The dark man reminds me of a similar scene in The Stand!
In that, Randall Flagg let's Lloyd out of prison. Flagg is also known as The dark man or walking
dude! Lindelof & Cuse are huge Steven King fans, his work is referenced several times in the
series! Coincidence.......I think not! Love what you do. Keep it up were watching....
Okay the Hanso thing blew my mind. I have watched this show a thousand times. You are BRILLIANT, Brian! Brian the Brilliant!
FINALLY... This is the best episode of Lost!!!
The Dharma ARG stuff they did between seasons was so cool back in the day.
Still hands down my favorite back story
early? i approve, cos as we all know, the (H)early bird gets the worm...
No nicknames in this episode from Sawyer
Marvin The Martian
I just noticed the guy at the auction said that The Black Rock was lost at sea in 1845. But Richard was on it in 1867.
Probably just an unfortunate mistake. There's a couple of others in the show I think, like Charlotte's DOB changing in season 4 or 5.
So which is it1845 or 1867?
Again, they are on a phase shifting island that can time travel. In which reality are dates important? Flash sideways?
Lol, Jacob totally looks like he could be a youth pastor.....Or Satan..😏
LOST 2: The Winchester Years
The actor who plays Jacob is a black belt. I'm confused as why he let Ben stab him to death instead of him going ape shit on Ben like he did with Richard. It feels out of place watching those two scenes together.
TJ Malana My sense was he was tired, like his mom was & this group of candidates were his last best hope for the future of the island. I remember Miles telling Ben that Jacob was hoping the whole time that he’d been wrong about him. I think the attack on Richard was more “Who’s this motherfucker on my front porch, brandishing a blade?” Kind of violence. Does any of that make sense, or help? 🤣
If Hogwarts hasn’t seen it already, I’d really enjoy her reaction to Bates Motel. Nestor Carbonell (Richard) is so great in that.
ch194wh agreed. Carlton Cuse knows how to make great TV.
I believe Adam Savage says the best treatment for hot glue on your fingers is to rub your fingers together
Best episode of the season!!!
How about Hogwarts love for Sun! And so true about Sun and several of the OG characters being underused this whole season.
My biggest problem with S6 is that they wasted so much time with new (and ultimately disposable) characters that they should have spent with the characters we already know and love.

Lost got the Black Rock years messed up? 1867 flashback for Richard, yet the auction said the ship was lost in 1845? Never picked that up when viewing.
yes they also got charlottes birthday wrong and tried to blame it on the actress.. xD
Well, you’re on a phase shifting island that can time travel. In which reality do dates make sense? Flash sideways? LoL

Wow the Father/Preacher is Nacho's dad. 2nd person now I recognized from BB/BCS
Ever noticed how many one-hit KOs / deaths there are in Lost? They seriously use it all the time. Just whack 'em on the head and they go down immediately no matter what

when Richard says to the group around the fire "you're dead. we all are, this is hell" is that a nod to the fact that the sideways is actually purgatory and they're all actually dead and passing on
"This episode sucks". Top 3 episode for me.
I always think that if they ever do a Lost sequel/spinoff, they should dive more into the Hanso family. Maybe something similar to the stuff they did with 'Lost Experience' back then but Canon, with bigger budget, as a proper TV series.
trylobyte07 grins. I’m working on some fan fiction that is a spinoff of sorts.
I was wating for this a long long long long time ago!!!
Black rock set sail in 1845 but the ab aeterno takes place in 1867. So another example of the creators screwing up continuity
Thank you so much, like I know it is maybe weird to say but you have no idea how much it means to me that this is in 2 parts, like everytime I watch you guys, many life problems go away and when it also comes to one of top fav episodes and getting 2 parts, it just makes life easier, and watching reactions from you makes me happy, I also hope that when it comes to end you will do 2 parters there too. I know you will, love you guys, wish you all the best and to stay safe during these hard times!
Omg Omg omg!!! Wow!
season 6, episode 9. nice
Wait. The Black Rock set sail in 1845, but Richard was bought in 1867? It took 22 years to get from Portsmouth to the Canary Islands?
You beat me by 22 seconds! =D
It might of been a stupid error on the writers part OR when that journal was written by Tovard Hanso they didn't know the whole timeline of the BlackRock. Hmmmmm.
Right? Just speculation...but what if Magnus Hanso learned about the existence of the island while on his travels to Siam? Or possibly even landed there prior to visiting the Canary Islands? The first time we see the Black Rock, Jacob and MIB are sitting on the beach with clear skies during the daytime. What if Hanso landed safely, met Jacob, and started taking orders from him? Then Jacob could have sent him out to find others and bring them to the island. So when Hanso returns with Richard, he returns in a storm, and the statue is destroyed. Fun to think about. What has always bothered me, is why isn't Richard a candidate? I always thought that Richard was "brought" to the island by Jacob...since he certainly wasn't plucked from a happy existence. But Jacob seems to have no idea who Richard is when he first meets him. Puzzling.
@@HogwartsReacts Maybe, although writer error does seem the most likely cause. I feel like Jacob didn't feel threated by MiB, so there was no need to find a replacement at this point. He was still just trying to prove a point by bringing people, not anyone in particular. When he finally did need a replacement for the end game, that's when he hand picked.
@Eye Bee I like your reasoning, and that seems like a great explanation for that :)
So Sleepy Hannah is gone, right?
Brian where is your wife, is she in quarantine? Or were all these shot before Corona?
I woke up thinking today was Thursday, thanks for reminding me that it's Friday!
Glad we could help! ;-)
1867 Tenerife, Canary Islands. Covid-19 was first discovered.
Are the dates wrong? It looks like the date in the auction scene is 10 years earlier than the date given at the beginning of the episode
ah the telenovela episode of Lost. I don't get the love for it to be honest. It's a good episode but that's about it
Had more meaning that you can get at this point. Even in biblical events
First
Hogwart is crying way too much. Is she pregnant?
Are you?
This episode made me tear up a few times as well and I most certainly wasnt and am not pregnant. Lol
So all emotional women are pregnant?
I cry almost every day but I'm just an emotional person and strangely enjoy crying. Definitely no pregnancy here.
@@avsambart I have a sixth sense. She's pregnant...
And it's a girl. 🔮
I tear up on certain episodes, therefore I’m pregnant too. But is it mine? Boo hoo hoo! I kid you I’m a kidder! But I seriously am in love with my sadness. I appreciate Love in every form. Crying let’s me release that. It’s like sex for sadness. Human too.
