We are a Marine family, our son having been deployed in Ramadi, Fallujah, the Philippines, and Thailand. Let me tell you that it brings tears to your eyes and you cannot speak when the boy who couldn't even take care of himself the first time you saw him, becomes a U.S. Marine. Out of respect for all Marines, I never say Semper Fi. But God bless the United States Marine Corps.
I was stationed at MCRD between 1985-86. I never failed to be moved by the weekly Friday graduation ceremony. I came away from my assignment with an immense respect for the Corps and for the DI's; I felt honored and priviledged to be a member of that team.
I graduated under the same Guidon in June 1974. 1st Bat. Plt. 1033. I can't describe the feelings of pride that come over me when I look upon these young men. The very finest the world has to offer. Semper Fi
My only son will be a graduate next month!! Nov 8th I am so proud of you son you did it!! you always wanted to be a Marine and you did it!! I Love you son you did the right thing and u did it well I heard you made expert in shooting again what you wanted its been 3 months since I have seen you cant wait to give a hug and see you my boy this dad love s you very much and to the others who are and will be may God bless you and your family and bring you joy and Thank you for your service Hoo-Raw
@MomGiveACare Haha I never asked if my brother did. The majority of all the graduates did have pretty noticeable tan lines on their heads from their covers. I'm sure your recruit will have a few things that they'd want to show you. There is a museum there and a place to eat some breakfast and lunch. I'm sure you guys would have enough to do. Good luck and thanks for watching!
My son should be graduating in 2 weeks. I wanted to get a taste of what it's like. It brings tears to my eyes watching this. Are they all wearing zinc oxide on their noses? Any comments on what to do the rest of the day on base? Congrats to your Recruit and to you.
the top of your ears and your nose would burn and peal constantly, no healing we ended up putting on vasaline on to help with it. we had no sun block. see the pt field where the physical training is done and maybe you will understand just how hard it is to become a marine.
If your taking about the Guide In PLT 1029 He got it wrapped up in the rope repelling down the hell hole, For Graduation he wore a regular sized glove and a massive glove lol.
the first cadence in the video for plt 1029 bco is the MOTIVATED SSgt Gordon, do not knock him, the man is one hell of a marine and i do not care who you are or what you do, you have no right. gtfo troll

I graduated on July 21st, 1991
Wow this video really takes me back. I was in the same place, doing the same thing 31 years ago this month. Semper Fi.
Almost seems like they're marching at "Route step"
he didn't break his arm, he broke his hand, rope looped on his hand when he was repelling, crushed it.
@talon460 He is Cheif Drill Instructor Ssgt Colon now, Bravo Company, Platoon 1030 september 16th 2011

This video was taken 20 January 2011, not 20 January 2010, just for description purposes.
Awesome as I was there also, correction though - there's no 1032. Have a great day, aloha.

Nice hand cast on the guide from lead platoon, lead series. GET SOME!!

The one I went to a couple days ago was disappointing. It was my NJROTC field trip. The acual outside graduation was canceled due to rain :( .
it's timeless, forty years means nothing to their ceremonies and protocal
i was in platoon 1029

@MarineMomMiller It was an amazing day that's for sure.
Hahaha Ssgt gordon was my SDI and colon was my kill hat and sgt mogollon was my knowledge DI
They're playing fast paced music, yet the Marines are slow marching.
They’re Marching to the DI’s cadence. Not the music.
@kekokua808 Thanks for the response. I updated the description.
@talon460 he was my killhat when i went to boot camp!
@Underhill702 you remember me allen?
I graduated mcrd (boot camp) on 12/23/72 platoon 3122
howcome some marine graduates wear the khaki shirt and blue pants and these are wearing greens ?
@Underhill702 whats your name?
Remember to take a course in how to use your camera!
1972 PLT 2150 San Diego, Ca Hollywood Marine!! Semper Fidelis Get Some!!
i wonder how he broke his arm

Updated. Thank you.
Haha they are walking slow so the parents can get a glimpse and take pictures of their sons.
@Underhill702 Centennial bro.
@talon460 he was my killhat when i was in boot camp. hes funny as hell huh? deff a good marine.
Bravo!?!
SDI Sgt Colon Is The Best
I really wanted to see their order arms but you pointed the camera to the fucking palms
Badass
arm swing sloppy
..any slower, and they'd be the French Foreign Legion!
im there
Its me
I lovee you
sloppy
I hate to hate, but the March was not cadenced well by the DIs. Lots of slop. Follow the damn music when it’s playing.
They were marching to the DI’s cadence, not the band.
Guess they are getting softer lol
This is from 2010, the Marine Corps is not getting softer.
