I went to see my Nephew graduate in 2006. Seems like a lifetime ago, especially to him now. When I graduated in 1983 at Harmony Church, Ft. Benning, I noticed the grey haired “Nam- Dudes” consolidating and talking with the Cadre. In 2006 it was my turn . Proud of my grey hair. Talking to the Series Commander about Ranger School and Grenada, the events that defined me. Damn it, I’m still proud . Proud of all of us. Every generation did its job beautifully. Watching these youngsters in their Bravos at their purist point in their training gives me faith we are in good hands. Happy Veterans Day To You, Sir ! Semper Fi ! Happy Veterans Day Billy Ray !
Congratulations to your Marine and to you. My older boy graduated MCRD San Diego in October 6, 2006. My younger boy graduated there as well back in January 21, 2022. I share your pride.
There were no cameras ( like this anyway) on family day when I was at San Diego MCRD. My mother came to visit me that day and for my graduation. She did not recognize me when I walked up to her! That was 1979
Congratulations! My son is in DELTA and graduating November 4th. I miss him, he's my only child. It's hard on us parents to not be able to see or speak with our sons. May The Most High God keep you ALL safe and make you warriors for HIM!🙏❤️🙏
What are the options for having a meal together on family day? Are there plenty of restaurants on base? Someone mentioned having a picnic, would that be possible?
Get some new Devil Dogs. For me it was Oct 12th 2001 3rd Btln India Co Plt3096 Semper Fi. Stay Motto, stay Squared away and above all else Disciplined! And for us ol Devil Dogs stay Salty.
My son is DELTA and graduating November 4th and I miss him dearly! I can't wait either but after their 10 day break, they leave again. This is not an easy life for Marine parents especially in the condition of our country right now. We all need to be praying protection over or children in the military. 🙏❤️🙏
Went through in 1984 was given a medical discharge. During receiving I was "red flagged" being I was subject to an extensive examination. I got sent to Balboa Park Navy hospital and was interviewed by a Navy psychiatrist and psychologist. I got to watch TV, read books, magazines, newspapers. After the interviews. I was told "we are separating you from the corps". I got some money, new clothing, and a one way ticket on United Airlines from SAN to OAK on a Boeing 737-200.
Medical discharge from the Marine Corps. I feel what you're feeling. You may feel like was it worth it. Being in the service. Makes you a better person. Semper Fi
@@sisterheid9681 The military is not for everybody. When I was sent to Balboa Navy hospital. I was subject to a more extensive medical examination. There were tests run and interviews done by navy psychiatrists and psychologists. After about five days at the hospital. I was recommended for separation after receiving the results of the tests and interviews. I was not able to hack boot camp. I got a new shirt, pants, and shoes. A one-way ticket from San Diego to San Francisco on a United Airlines Boeing 737-200.
@@frankdenardo8684 I'm relieved for you and that they treated you well. I hope you never feel bad, but instead saved by that decision. God has better plans for you!❤️🙏❤️
@@MrStaybrown you actually defend the constitution from all enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC. It helps when you have a commander in chief that cares about the military which he did... not the clown currently in office. And the phrase "serve your country"...what does that mean to you, specifically?
Earning it, as you grow older you will realize what you did. The pride gets stronger every day. And I am an old salt.
