Many congratulations to both you and your husband. I recently passed my one year mark and it's crazy seeing him again. He was always my favorite DI and he taught me so much. He approached everything differently from the other DI's, and he worked incredibly hard for my platoon. Also, his IT's we're the worst I ever experienced. Seeing his face and even being able to hear his cadence again is crazy, and it even makes me emotional. Thank you for helping him get through this. And thank him for helping me be the man I am today.
I know IT was his favorite because of how challenging he liked to make it so I’m glad to know he hit the mark on it lol! Being a DI often seemed like a thankless job but little moments like these I know add so much value to his time there & him as well. Thank you so much for your words!
Dude no way, your husband was my drill instructor during receiving in June 2021. I remember I was overwhelmed and wanted to quit and he told me I’m basically a Marine and that the hardest part is behind me. DI Peete, thank you for believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself. It was an honor to begin my tenure with solid Marines as my Drill Instructors including yourself
Being in receiving and the hardest part is behind you? That's some incredible bull 💩. But I'm glad it had the desired, motivating affect. 😊
Guys like your husband changed my life. I always talk up just how impressive DI's are, some of the most dedicated and hard working people I've ever met. But I always mention the sacrafice they endure. Meaning their family. I couldn't imagine, especially with young kids. I just hope if nothing else you a know the impact that sacrafice has had on 100's to 1000's of lives directly. They did a job few other could, but successfully enough not a single one of those people will ever forget them. Thank you for everything youve given up for that to happen.
Your son at the sound of the cannons wanted to abandon ship, but later he was inspecting the cannon shells. As long as MCRD is here, America will be here. Million Thanks to your Family. It takes more than courage to jump out of a plane into nothingness. Recon material.
❤️ I’m a old Marine and I want to convey my prayers and happiness to you and your family. Our Marine families behind the scenes are not recognized enough for their strength and dedication to keeping the family unit together. You dear are beyond fantastic in making this video possible and shining light on the family behind the Marine. I just found this and want you to know that your extended family, Our family and other Marine families, are with you always.
Thank you so much for your words! It truly is a family effort to live this lifestyle & im grateful to be able to shine light on that! I appreciate your comment so much!
Your video came across my screen, just HAD to watch your amazing story. Your husband was and will always be part of these young men's lives, as they mature in our beloved Corps, they will speak highly of your husband for many years to come. He made Marines, to see how sharp they still are, makes me proud to have been part of the organization bigger than myself. Thank you and your highly dedicated husband, thank you both from the bottom of my heart. SEMPER FIDELIS
Marine Wife.... Hardest job in the Corps. Back to the Fleet.
Congratulations !.
Outstanding !. The World's Finest US Marines. Semper Fi
Thank you for sharing this from your perspective! This is fantastic and thank you to you and your family for the service and sacrifice!
I Bet you are so happy to have your Husband back, no more long lonely nights. Man the wife of a Drill instructor can be rough and the wife are Heroes thank you Ma’am supporting him
Even rougher for the wives of guys in the line units that actually deploy overseas
You accomplished a lot as well by being a faithful DIs wife. That's a very hard job to do. Semper Fi
Tears!! I am so proud of you, and excited for the adventure that is to come for you and your family. You’re a champion woman, wife, and mama, Roxana! 👏🏼
I’ve learned so much from what you’ve documented and shared of this journey so far, and I’m so grateful. My husband goes to DI school in a few months, and if all goes smoothly- I will have learned so much from you that I can take on the journey with me!
Prayers for you guys!! 💛
I cannot tell you the impact your comment has had on me 😭 Thank you for your support and love!!
DI school is ROUGH, so stay strong girly! It’s literally the prep for what depot life will be like so give yourself and your spouse so much grace when it comes to getting through it! I hope it does all work out for you guys it won’t be easy but you can get through it!
I am also always here to talk or answer any questions if you ever need to please reach out on socials! 🤍
Respect to all the men and women who give up their time to serve. I went to the process to be an army soldier, but the doors closed on me, but in the time I learned that it takes a lot of will, mind power to "drop" everything to become a solider.
Good job attempting to stand a watch for your country. So few do.
@@dejavu666wampas9 Thank you, i learned so much in the time I tried to join. My opinion towards the men and women who served changed.
This video is so special ,because we never acknowledge the Families beside the Marines that’s literally the rocks that keep us together through thick, and then. I’ve been retired for over 20 years, and I’m happy to say my Wife, and I are still together! I love this story. Thank you Ma’am for you perseverance as a Wife and Mother to your Husband, and the Marine Corps Family! Semper Fi 🙏🏽
3:30 This is so adorable the fellow DI kids interacting!
Wow !! Congratulations! You’re such a strong Marine Wife my hubby was gone for 6 months only and I was about to lose it. You are true inspiration 👏🏻😭💕
6 months is still forever girl! Proud of you for making it through!!
Thank you for your sweet words 🥹🤍
Man, it seems like yesterday when I marched on that parade deck, 53 years ago. 1969 MCRD, PLT 1118, DI’s - SSGT Contreras, Sgt Wilde, Sgt Bialagloi. Semper Fi.
Much respect to DI’s everywhere. You keep our country alive.
And my wife, who stood by me during my time in the Corps, says “Thank You for your service,” to all Marine Wives, everywhere.
I heartily echo that. Unsung national heroes.
So amazing the impact your experience and DIs had that even to this day you can remember those moments! Thank you for your families service and sacrifice! It’s one that not many can endure!
@@lifeontharox - Thank you, ma’am. Like a Mary Gauthier song says, “I wore my uniform with honour, my service was not a sacrifice.”
Our Drill Instructors told us the first day of Boot Camp that we would never forget our DI’s names, and they were right.
Magnificent tribute to a much-more-than-worthy-endeavor of duty to God, Country & Corps! Job well done to Mom as well! SEMPER FI!
The greatest feeling of seeing my first born and only son at his boot camp graduation at Camp Pendleton San Diego. That was back in 2009. He spent 13 years in the active.☺️🇺🇸
thank you and your family adding and building OUR FAMILY.
Back to the fleet. Nothing is more comfortable than not having to wear that duty belt all day! Lol
Semper fi
Semper Fi DI school is not a joke. God bless you family.
Thanks to the Marines and their spouses for your service.❤❤❤
This brought back lots of memories of my husbands time on the Depot. In fact he was the one that sent me your link lol. He just retired and was a Fox company DI so this hits close to home and our son was about the same age as yours (he’s now a Marine himself in Japan). So thank you for the trip down memory lane. And as much as we can’t wait for that tour to be over. You find yourself missing it at times. Maybe not at first lmao. Best wishes on the rest of this journey.
Congratulations to him and your family on such a huge accomplishment! 20 years of dedication to the Corps is no easy feat! We always said if we can make it through the depot we can make it through anything and your comment gives so much light to that statement! Wish your family the best! 🤍
Outstanding Hardcharger , Glad to see you had a great and great tour and that you had a strong backing supporter. Stay Hard push forward and Be blessed. Retired Msgt. E.B Porter 2-88 PI Ooh-Rah!!!
THANK YOU for your whole family’s sacrifice so that these recruits could be molded into Marines!
@Roxana Peete two questions!
1. I think PLT2034 SDI was my son’s DI. Menani?
2. Was that Major Lamb that handed your husband his DI campaign hat? She has also served at RS Fort Worth.
MCRD is starting to look like E-3 base housing on Pendelton in the 90's! Base renovations! 😂But for real thanks for sharing Thank you for your service! Beside every good man, is a good woman! My wife was GWOT spouse, and she held it down SF Family!
I was at Weapons Field Training Battalion MCRD SD for two years, some Marines that I deployed with were Drill Instructors at that same time. I remember a friend on his first cycle, it was six months after we last saw each other. I made the comment that he looked like he just spent the last three years in Auschwitz (yeah, he looked terrible after DI school and mid-way through his first cycle). After those two years I went to recruiting duty, I dodged the orders to DI school since I had already been at the depot, technically. Recruiting Duty and Drill Instructor Duty are both hard. But DI life is a different type of stress. At least I got to go home every night and sleep in my own bed. Those guys are around recruits 24 /7 and yes that's heavy on the family. Glad you were able to take it day by day, sometimes chow to chow, and make it to the end of a successful tour. If you can survive this, you can survive pretty much anything else in the Corps. Best to to the both of you.
I haven't been there in 30 yrs. Thank you and please know that the job done by your husband was without a doubt well worth it. Semper Fi.
😆 That place will never change. Semper Fi Devil Dogs!
I was there last month for my baby cousins graduation. I had to walk my aunt through the whole process. I graduated from boot in Parris Island back in 2006. It was awesome to see the other side of graduation.
Congratulations to you and your family. It’s good to see graduation videos like this. I still remember mine back on October 7, 1998. One of the proudest days of my life. I only wish my mom was there to attend. OORAH and Semper Fi
One of my favorite ssgt 💪🏾
Congrats ! stay safe brother
God blessing you guys abundantly 🇺🇸🙏 Semper FI
So happy for you and your fam!! ♥️
🤍🤍🤍
Semper fi, God bless you all.
Congratulations on the successful tour
Having been a Drill Instructor on Parris Island 78-81 I know what it takes for the wife and Marine to accomplish a successful tour. Why does it sound like such a relief though? We know going in about the difficulty, dedication, and commitment. The saddest day of my career was the final day of my last cycle. 3 years, two five day breaks. Wouldn’t change a thing.
Awesome!! Congrats on a successful DI tour!! Semper Fi!!
Where are you guys going next, the Fleet?
Do you guys have orders to your next assignment? I always wondered what happens to a marine at the end of their term is a DI.
Congrats :)
SemperFidelis… High … Iraqi war veteran… just note it was hella hot out there and we were all with cammies ….
So they finally add WMs on west coast? Damn I'm getting old.. I remember my DIs always told us stories about Afghan and Irag, it will be interesting to see how the MC will do during Peacetime..
I was an average recruit, but if at the time I knew actually how difficult it was for my DI’s, myself along with my fellow recruits would have stepped it up even higher and performed even better than we already did simply just to give our DI’s a better break but I’m also sure they had a good time destroying us and then making us solid Marines.
I'm so proud of all of you that serve for the Federal Reserve

Your husbands doing gods work every single marine owes it to their drill instructor for part of who they are as a man or a woman there are a couple words that are burned into my soul that were given to me as a gift buy my drill instructor
Just subscribed
thank you for your cirvix
It's been 60 years since I graduated from USMC San Diego. I know the Drill Instructors today are held to much more rigorous standards than when I passed through boot camp. I am sure the love and support you provided your husband went a long way in helping him perform his duties beyond what he may have imagined in the beginning of his tour. Best wishes to him and to you, may your family continue to flourish.
It’s so fun to see these videos, remember when I marched on that same parade deck and graduated. It is a day none of us will ever forget. May 19, 2007 Bravo Co. PLT 1035 S/F and congrats on a successful tour brotha!
