🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 That March with his friend is the march of the DI for sure😂 such beautiful memories. “For these are the days when sunlight paints us gold”. To cherish forever
I was there when they first arrived in January, I was india and I watched them in the chow hall get absolutely blasted by DIs as we just recently became marines, it was funny and I'm more than positive he saw the same thing when he got past the crucible and laughed as we did, good to have him around
I did this in 2012. I wish we could get videos like this back then in San Diego. Congratulations brother, only advise I have, keep away from drugs and show up on time.
Congrats to you and your son. I hope and pray he will do great and get through with no problems. Keep praying...and join up with some of the Parris Island family support groups on facebook. Very helpful !
Great video! Congratulations 🇺🇸 Thank you for your service 🫡 My son is about to do the crucible and this momma is terrified 🫣 at the same time can’t wait to see him graduate a Marine 🦅⚓️ 🌎
I have a question if ya may answer for me . I was wondering from your son’s first day how long did it take to receive a letter from him? I want to thank y’all for yr service. I have two sons that just entered Boot Camp.
God bless you, and God bless your sons. We used Sandboxx online for our first letter, and it only took a couple days if you send on a weekday. Snail mail could easily take a week or more. I mean, some people on the fb groups complained that it would take weeks for their letter to arrive to P. Island. So sandboxx is the best bet for quick messages. And they also provide a RETURN envelope for your recruit (you might pay a little extra for that if I remember). Good luck - and Semper Fi !
Your uncle at his age would have never trained at that third battalion barracks because the 3rd battalion barracks was just rebuilt a few years back so he would have probably trained in the old third battalion barracks if he was in a 3rd battalion platoon. They completely tore down old 3 a good while back
yeah, not sure where exactly but he was at P.I. Maybe he wasn't thinking at the moment when I had asked him that question. There was so much excitement. LOL
@@BobMazzo 3rd battalion was the first barracks to be made of brick, 1960, marking the end of it's continuous deactivation and reactivation in the changing wars. In 2011, they relocated to the modern one, but the original 3rd BTL Barracks was similar in design, except the DI hut was parallel to the racks instead of perpendicular. Me, in 2022, with the internet at my disposal, and having only been there two years ago still forgets details. I'm sure your father was referring more to the general barracks layout, which hasn't changed much since the late 60's.
PLEASE! Don't send your boy to this hell hole and organization. The Marines will torment your loved one behold repair that will they will never be able to recover.
Yeah i agree with you i was in the hotel company and i feel trapped inside it. i only serve less than a year because i get angry for everything and i can’t control it. I also faced lot of bullying from a officer

What is the name of the song that your using when they run back to their platoon
It's a beautiful song isn't it. I licensed it via Adobe video editor. Let me find out.

They never had this family day stuff back in the early 70's. Your butt did not see any one until you got home. Period.
Yeah my uncle said similar, except that his mom got a ride down with someone from Jersey back in 67. Maybe for graduation?
