I am doing kick boxing 8 years. I thought that I know jumping with rope very well, bet some of thees jumping styles is new for me. Thank you very much. Video is very interesting.
Adding the freestyle and fancy elements not only targets the endurance of different muscles, it also develops neuromuscular coordination. Also, it's more engaging and fun, which for me is a must in my workouts. If I'm having fun, I work harder.
excellent video and this is from a rope jumper and the timing techniques I are useful usually more so by a martial artist that understands their purpose
I also love jump rope, cause it's GREAT cardio and transfers well to punching (if you practice that as well) and the all-important footwork :) the non jumping techniques (ones where you jump, but spin the rope by your side) are good to use when you mess up, cause they allow you to get back to jumping rope without actually stopping. At least that's what I use them for most of the time :) it is also useful if you're doing intervals - just figure-8 and walk around during rest periods :)
Hi Jas a few months ago i was trying new things out on the rope befour jitz training, started the one leg, and ended up the floor with two severed ligaments in my left Ankle lol. lets just say i know wear a permanenet Ankle brace and put my training back a while doh!
your videos are always good no exception here. but filming and sharing your grappling is a better use of time. as cesar once said give the people what they want. :) thanx for all your videos so far
There's more to fitness and being an athlete than strength and endurance. An athlete has to be able to move and have control of his body at speed. Jump rope works on all those aspects of fitness that get disregarded all the time; coordination, accuracy, agility, balance, etc. Jump rope coordinates your hands and feet together, your lower and upper body together, all while working on speed and getting some conditioning in.
You probably get this all the time but dam the vids are dope a great help and I was wondering what is the point of the none jumping techs in the begining I feel like they are usless
i think you miss understood me. i agree skipping is a great part of any combat sportsmans training but i was alluding to the fact that there are little girls who can show us all how to skip but very few people who can show us all the bjj techniques that jasculs can.
With respect your technique is very good, I simply notice that the rope makes a lot of noise as it swings. Ideally there shouldn't be that slapping sound as it goes around. Still all and all, great stuff. I have gotten a lot of good skipping ideas from your routine.
It's more than 'useless' or 'looking' cool. It's hand foot coordination. it's moving more than one part of your body, and doing it at a rapid pace for a sustained amount of time. Sitting on a machine, doing 3 weak sets of 10 reps, then more sitting for a 10 minute rest isn't cutting it. Watch someone jump rope who doesn't do it on a regular basis. Twenty seconds in, they're bent over, winded, tripping on the rope, ready to give up in another fifteen seconds, never to jump again.
yo jasculs i didnt mean for this to be a backhanded comment i was just saying i like the bjj vids way more. here is a jump rope vide of a nice lady in slomotion i think we can all apreciate. /watch?v=Hx5q2YG-SgU
I don't see any use for these kind of "techniques" except 2 or 3 of them. Sure they look cool but that's pretty much it. It's good for cardio that's it. No need to make it look super fancy.
if you want footwork, coordination, balance go play soccer, and why do you think the best in the world are Brazilian Jujutsukas cuz they play football all the time. tell me if you agree? ---please
Well you are sorry, but that's not the point. I get what you're saying but you're going out of context cause you can't prove it within. 1. You're not going to find a little girl who's going to show this many variations etc. 2. This video is for supplemental use to what you're already doing. It's not like you can ask him anything at anytime. If you're relying on this more than a live teacher then something is wrong.
That's just ignorance and stereotyping. And there's little girls that can show you bjj technique. But there's a difference between little girls skipping rope and here.
Again you're going out of context cause you can't prove anything in context. Unless they're covering 22 plus tech for skipping rope then you just did something else pointless. Continue to ignore common sense and try again. There's nothing to really get over. I'm just right. Whether you want to continue to be in denial and continue to be ignorant. I'm still right.

Sick jump roping! Thanks for the vid, as always it was very short and informative! I will add some of these into my routine.
Excellent video again brother! You motivated me to take up rope jumping again. Thank you!

Hey man remember to rotate from the wrists and think small circles. Great video
You pretty much covered them all, and then some. The only thing I have extra is spins with the rope.

Сумасшедший чувак. Зачем так руками широко размахивать? Почему двойные в такую странную позу прыгает?
