    Sambo and Judo are one of the most underappreciated martial arts to be supplemented in MMA and I'm glad, with the popularity of wrestling now, They are being appreciated by many of martial artists including Jeff. I'm curious how these sambo techniques will furthermore evolve your standing grappling game man. Great video❤

      I think it is also a geographic difference though. Wrestling is more popular in the west, but in the east there are alot of judo-esque mma fighters. Muay thai/kyokushin is also very prominent in the east while boxing is more prominent in the west I feel like. I don't have numbers though hahahaha

    • @davybigfly
      @davybigfly Год назад +10

      @@GraveRave kinda depends on what rules we are going with.
      Strict MT rules I can't attack the legs with leg hooks like osoto gari or ouchi Gari. You could do some sweeps like hiza guruma, or footsweeps like sasae or deashi.
      In pure Judo rules nobody clinches like that. You almost could never get a necktie and you are better off fighting for grips in the lapel and sleeve.
      In something like sambo or mma, then you could mix the two martial arts with more freedom. If someone does a MT clinch on you, its quite easy to counter with wrestling/ judo moves. Hip tosses like ogoshi, uchimata and leg hooks like ouchi all day (as shown in this video). This is why in mma, people don't thai clinch a ton (we see Charles oliveira utilize the thai clinch well, let's see how that fares against Islam). I would suggest doing the Thai clinch to set up some strikes and then you gotta break free or finish with a throw. You can't be complacent in the clinch.
