  • The Sire Larry Carlton T7 is a modern T style guitar with fine build quality and an affordable price. This is a solid choice for any lover of the classic T style who'd like some updated features. I discuss those features and, as usual, demo the guitar to one of my own backing tracks. I use all three pickup positions and my Mad Professor Sweet Honey for a little light overdrive.

    I’m glad I found this channel. I hate listening to demos from metal heads who play through 4 or 5 pedals. 😂

    The neck pickup in particular seems to have more much than the Fender Tele neck pickup. Nice playing.

    I have both the original H7 as well as the recent new L7V with P90's. The build quality and feel for the price is amazing with some great tones with their pickups.
    You really can't go wrong with any of the Sire guitars. BTW, great channel! 👍

      @ew6629 Год назад +1

      @@matthewstearle7395 I just love the fat but clarity you get with P90's, so if I hadn't already purchased the H7, I would have gotten the H7V. The humbuckers on the H7 are still pretty decent but I may swap out the pickups with a different humbucker more to my liking. It's all personal to one's taste. The tough thing is it's hard to find these guitars to try out like at Guitar Center. If you live anywhere close to Sweetwater, they usually have demo models to try out.

      @@matthewstearle7395 My local Guitar Centers did not have any of the Sire guitars for demo tryout so lucky you were able to try out the H7. Would be ideal if you could try out the H7V for comparison purposes. If you haven't played P90 semi-hollow body equipped guitars, you can always find another more common brand to hear how it sounds. For example, Epiphone Wildkat has P90's using alnico V's while Sire uses their own Vintage Dogear P90's though I couldn't find the magnet type. The one thing I can say for sure is the Sire construction of the guitar itself is pretty good though I find the fretboard is more ideal for medium to smaller hands. If you have large hands or thick fingers, maybe not as ideal. Not sure if you noticed that when you tested the H7 at GC. I have smaller hands so it works great for me. Good luck!

      @leonardgriffieblues5845  3 месяца назад +1

      @@888jimm Well, it’s been a year but I think it was okay. Most companies send them out with the strings too high at the nut, which makes some sense since you can go lower but not higher. Few send them out with the optimal height, which is just clearing the first fret. If you buy many guitars it might make sense to buy nut files and learn to slot them properly, but if you only need it done occasionally then better to have it done by someone who really knows what they’re doing. It’s part of a basic setup and some dealers will include this in the price.

    I’ve been looking forward to your take on the T7. They’ve just released the T3 which is a bit more like a classic Tele…and perfect for my “used to play a bit and want to get back into it” price range

    • @leonardgriffieblues5845
      @leonardgriffieblues5845  Год назад +2

      As I understand it, the T3 is essentially the same, costing less because of fewer features, none of which you actually need. If I were shopping for one to keep, I’d lean toward the T3.

    • @Prajnana
      @Prajnana Год назад +1

      Another reviewer commented (and his sound demo) backed up his assessment that the T3 sounds darker than the T7. The difference could be attributed to it's mahog. body, bridge and perhaps pickups (The S3 apparently uses ceramic whereas the S7 has alnico...). Who knows, locking tuners add more mass to the headstock, too!

      @@leonardgriffieblues5845 The Bridge on the t 3 is more modern and I like it better because it has 6 separate saddles. They also have an option to get a rosewood fretboard. It's weird how the " nicer one " doesn't have what I want as far as the fret board or the saddles. I'm so sad that I may have to buy the cheaper model. Hurts me.. deeply. Nice licks man.

      I’ve seen the T-3 and from what I’ve heard it doesn’t compromise at all anywhere that really matters, just a more traditional build. If it has the same fretwork and rolled fingerboard edges I think it’ll be a real bargain.

    1000 dollars Canadian for a Sire Telecaster Copy, so I bought a differently branded copy .I bought an Eart Tele, with a Sire type headstock, so I hope it matches up in every other area, because Eart took aim at the Sire.Their Strat copy is an amazing guitar, so I have hopes for another good score, with the Eart Telecaster.Real Telecasters used to be cheap , and were the lowest price electric, in Fenders Catalogue for years, but nowadays they got popular, and then very expensive, and clearly not worth the cash.

    • @leonardgriffieblues5845
      @leonardgriffieblues5845  Год назад

      The EART S-type I have is an amazingly good guitar. I have no idea how consistent they are, but they have to be about the best “bang for the buck” out there. If you’re good with the rather thin neck, then pretty hard to beat.
      Fender’s market is quite a bit different. A legacy brand will always have a sizable market and will command more money for a pretty basic version.

    Thank you. Great video. Cool telecaster. Sounds good in experienced hands. A little expensive for beginners. But if you already have something to play, especially in public, this is a suitable option. So far, judging by sales in a large European online store, it is not the most popular. Perhaps later the company will add a reputable musician to Larry and Marcus as a consultant and face of the brand. For which the telecaster is the main tool. Then things will go better with sales. No worse than with the bass. Although I personally would be more interested in a strong bag included. More confidence in successful delivery. And it will be convenient to store the new tool. Good luck.

      Interesting, because here in the US, it seems more a problem of supply. After the initial wave they tend to be backordered a lot. In any case, very good guitars for the price point. And honestly, the less expensive versions such as the T3 and S3 seem to equal the overall quality.
      Thanks for watching.

      Honestly, I don’t know for certain since I didn’t try any of my Fender parts and I’ve never seen anything on the web. It seems most are happy with the Sires as is. I’d I had to guess, I’d say any standard Tele pickups would work but I have no idea if a Fender neck or bridge would drop in.

      @@leonardgriffieblues5845 ive spent a fortune on fenders over the years but fender dosent excite me anymore, brands like Sire and what they give you for your money excite me more. Fender and Gibson definitely rely on there history and what a beautiful history they have and paved the way for guitars today. The prices they charge are ridiculous for what your actually getting today. I think if they dont start dropping there prices brands like Sire will eventually leave them behind and become the leading brands. I was a Fender snob but i never recommend Fender to newbies, i tell them to look at Sire, JHS Vintage guitars and even Harley Benton, better bang for your buck. I would rate Sire above the Fender American Performer range!
