It’s a super-powered showdown in New York City! The Spider-Man vs Venom Maquette measures 22” tall as the wall-crawler and his fated foe battle it out on the wreckage of a toppled church bell tower. Tendrils of the sinister alien symbiote sneak around the base, snaring Peter Parker’s arm as he takes aim at Eddie Brock’s altered self.
The polyresin Spider-Man vs Venom Maquette is a fully sculpted, highly dynamic collectible that brings two iconic Marvel characters together in your collection. Venom’s monstrous, muscular physique ripples with dark Klyntar symbiote as he prepares to strike with claws, fangs, and his terrifying tongue. His signature look is complete with sculpted white spider-symbols, swirled eyes, and the white web-shooter markings on his hands. Does this guy paint all of them or just the initial prototypes/masters?
@@PartStupid he only paints the prototype. The rest get done in a factory by somewhat less skilled painters with deadlines to meet.

@@PartStupid The OP’s painting standard is world class imo and stands apart from what can be achieved in on a mass produced item so it’s not too surprising the retail models aren’t as good but they’re good enough, just not up to this magical standard.

Man I love these videos. Three different artists, three different techniques, and this dude is probably my favorite so far. Not only does he use an affordable airbrush (Badger Renegade), he's also incorporating other mediums, and he's a fan of Payne's grey.
It feels so good to see these pros use some of the same paint products as I do (citadels shades and contrast). Sure they take it to the next level, but I feels somewhat relatable.

I’m trying to paint my venom from wicked and Jesus you make it look so easy. I wish I had the amount of skill you do. I love painting but it’s so friggin hard to get the details just right. Awesome work and got a lot of tips to try on my things.

Hi chocotastic1, our artists use large spray booths that immediately ventilate out all chemical's sprayed into it. They also have proper ventilation at each of their desks. Thanks so much for the concern!

Awesome stuff! Didn't expect to see Citadel washes but the biggest surprise to me was the dusting with pastels. I'm curious why use the pastels rather than airbrushing a bright coloured paint?
Pastels blend better.
Hey Scott, I love the Citadel washes, they work really well, we use them often in-house. The pastels was an old trick that I hadn't done in while and I felt it would work nicely on this piece. Airbrush works great too!

It's a shame he isnt painting all the venom maquettes.
It is. And the store page for this statue doesn't do it any justice. I went from a 3-4 level of excitement to a 9-10 while watching this video. To be able to see the statue more intimately is something else!
Yea, I used to work for Gentle Giant as a painter and same thing with all of the companies. We do a couple key ones to send overseas that they use as examples but can't come anywhere close to what we would do. On top of that, they use ours as show pieces at Conventions and box art, so that is what you see, and think you are getting.

So a few are done by the painting artist, and the rest are done by a mass producing machine? Or a bunch people? Looking for some help
@@Professor_Professoron Yes. Typically 2 are done in house by artists, as "Keys or prototypes" to send over seas and they are painted there. By people, who are not near as talented, in color mixing, matching, or any paint techniques. They could not re produce what we did on their best day. But we would cost way more and the items would be way more. Un affordable for most.
For people that want better, they get repainted by professionals, at the level of the people who painted the Key prototype. Pay a lot, but will be a museum quality paint job. Hand painted. Be prepared to pay a lot for that quality.
All advertising pics are of the hand painted prototype, so they will always look nicer. And ANY that are at shows or conventions, are also done by these artists to be the best to show off. They might have a gallery to show off some, so they could do an extra for that to show off.

yea it looks blue to me too but people's color vision varies
I don't think it he is seeing it differently than you but just calling it different. It is a violet-Blue, compared to a Green- Blue. So I think that is his way of referring to it. It looks very close to what would be an ultramarine blue.
95% sure it's due to the camera and or youtube-compression...
Oh and most of us don't have a colour calibrated Monitor/TV...
I assume if you watch on a High Tier Smartphone like iPhone X & up
it will look better (given that it wasn't the camera-sensor)
@@g60force Also to add to this, I doubt they make these videos for color accuracy. It's not a tutorial. They're making an easy to watch video and grade it as such.
