Although I miss the OG actor of Kratos, I understand why they chose this man. Kratos has changed soooo much since the Spartan saga, it makes sense they needed someone who could bring that tired and ready to die Kratos

He also has an amazing deep and wise voice, this shows kratos is not the ball of rage and anger he used to be and that he’s calmed down and settled

Haven’t played it in forever and I loaned the disk to my little cousin to play. He started asking me questions as he progressed and my memory was foggy. I’m now like 40+ hours into GOW/Norse mythology vids on RUclips this month 😂. Truly is a masterpiece with so much depth to every decision made in its creation. Can’t wait for Ragnarok to finally drop and we find out who blew the horn. (Kratos & Atreus from the future 🤔)

@@flataffect Carried as in that was bulk of the game, not necessarily that other parts were bad. In a game when someone "carries" successfully, that's only possible because other parts supported enough to allow the said individual to "carry".
And you're incorrectly using the word "objectively". I've been gamer all my life and played plenty and have different set of expectation(apparently higher than yours), and would view them differently than you. But that does not make me any more incorrect because it is MY subjectively opinion that I am entitled to have, same as you entitled to have opinion that it is the best game ever or w/e.
Items were boring as fuck. Inventory UI is god-fucking awful. And exploration was dogshit. It's not really exploration like open world. You're just running set track. Ya it was cool that the map would change as you progress the game, but the going through climbing and ledge walking were boring as fuck, especially when Kratos is literally a foot off the ground, but you still have to "climb" down to get to the ground. What a joke? He supposed to be a god, give me option to jump off few feet. But other times you can jump off like 20 feet. Inconsistent. To think exploration was good, you must really like watching same animation of opening chest, kill moves, opening door, item pick up repeating again and again. I am not as easily entertained.
And new game+ is stupid too. I am not re-playing to watch all the unskippable cutscenes. **Yawn**
Christopher judge has had a pretty active career, with one of his most notable roles being t'lk from stargate for the entire series run and quite a few spinoffs
Sunny is a great Actor.
Christopher Judge is always amazing too but Sunny is such a great actor too.
Most Child Actor's aren't good but Sunny's got a big future ahead of him.
Hopefully he'll keep acting after Ragnarok.

20 years ago we used MoCap as well. But the game engines were much more limited

I cannot get over how much I love their performances. The best acting of the year in ANY medium: film, television, stage, video games is when Christopher Judge and Sunny Suljic get together. I've NEVER seen a more intricate, emotional father and son relationship portrayal. Their performances are breathtaking, a joy to experience. I have nothing but love for them both.
this is the best version of Cratos period...the actor's voice acting is epic

I can't gush enough about Chris and Sunny but need some noise for the cameraman and director too! The shots and angles from the game were part of what made it such an engaging and breathtaking experience!

I mean yeah. That's what happened to Alphonse Elric's VA in Fullmetal Alchemist, Aaron Dismuke. Only difference is due to still being the same age (Alphonse), his voice got replaced by a woman, Maxey Whitehead.

@7:43 & 9:16. I am so proud to get an opportunity to cleaned up and animate the characters and props where it is needed for the whole sequence, took 20 days to complete this whole sequence with ogre. I appreciate the mocap actors as they put incredible efforts to get the data. Hope I can work in such amazing project again when I get a chance🤞
i finally played and finished the game after PC release.. i then googled the actors because i liked the voice acting so much, i expected to find a ton of things about the boy but he seems to be kinda overlooked... He fucking killed it, he was incredibly convincing!

Both of the latest God of War games were such tear jerkers. I could really tell how much the creators put into the story and the art. They were beautifully made and I bawled like a baby. ❤

If games could win a Oscar this would be the first to get a award bro it felt so real i thought it was just a animation with people in the studio doing voice overs this shocked me they really acting it out I knew something was up based on how the camera was shaking during cut scenes as if someone was really standing there recording

The dialogue at 1:02, the "you're not a monster to me" bit... did I miss this in the game somehow? Or was this something that was cut?
Sadly many things were cut or re written due to Sony cracking the whip on budget and release date for the game, so much so that the blades of chaos part almost didn’t make it into the game

They’re chemistry is so amazing! I was so moved by god of war and ragnarok I named my son Atreus. Their father and son connection hits me deep everytime.

Hi I love this behind the scenes stuff! It's so cool to see the actors for the video games rehearsing their lines and performing the motion capture. Sunny is an awesome actor for a kid his age and he's going to go very far in his career if he keeps up his awesome performances too! I hope that he does well in whatever the next God Of War game will be after God Of War Ragnarok! He did so well in God Of War 2018 and God Of War Ragnarok as well! I hope that he does well in the next God Of War game too!
I think the roles in the new and old games are perfect. In the old games, Kratos is filled with rage. Carson did it perfectly. His voice sounded like he was always angry and full if rage. In the newer god of war games, Kratos is old and wise. He is calm. Christopher does it perfectly.
As someone who just started playing this game and loved GOW1-3 I have been SO incredibly impressed so far by a bunch of things but the acting, mocap, and voice acting might be at the top of the list. Everything is acted so believably well. The guy that does Kratos now and Atreus have done a historical job as far as I can tell. GOW4 might be the best GOW game so far.
Sunny always reminded me of a young Corey Feldmon. Goonies. Looking forward to his long and successful career.

Man this is why I love PS games. We all appreciate the cutscenes, but most importantly, God of War because there is no loading screen between the gameplay and the cutscenes
Tealc is a legend man. I remember watching those early Stargate SG1 episodes back in the days.
Gaming is a whole new level nowadays. Back then it’s just pixels and coding for cutscenes with some voice acting, now it’s straight up filming a movie for 70% between story writing, capturing actors and stunt actors for cutscenes and to capture the gameplay for fighting, driving and other stuff.
i'm playing the game now and really loving both of there acting, but seeing Sunny here outside the game, man that kid is gonna go far!!
the game is absolutly perfect, im so glad that they made those changes they mentioned in development! i have literally no bad things to say about this game and im sure that real og fans since 2005 feel the same way! i just hope we get shirtless kratos again in ragnarok that would be dope🔥🔥
