we get the four following myths:
BMX tires being actually directional
BMX tire treads not being compatible on different terrains for the ones they are originally designed for
BMX Inner tubes whether they're 18", 20", 24", 26" each size cannot be used in a tire of a different dimension
BMX Bikes are made specifically for trails, street, or park riding and you can't do one activity with the improper bike.

We’re back boys and girls! Thanks for the support :))
Watching these videos made me get a 24in bmx and start riding again. Thanks for making these videos.
i use 18" tubes because they are a couple ounces lighter than 20" tubes. they are my budget Tubolitos lol
If Anthony Panza has taught me anything, it's you can ride street with any bike! Even a Citibike 😂
That’s a good ass point 😂
Best channel for all BMX , with a great host Phu Vu.
Thank you so kindly!
in my experience an oversized tube can be a bad idea but a smaller diameter will usually work
Big time. Really hard to avoid pinch flats
Big ups Alfredo and the crew!! Biggest BMX hustlers in the game 🎉 keep em coming
Thanks so much 🙏🏻
Growing up as a kid along with others a bike was a bike and it was what you can do with it that was bad ass!
Shout out to you guys supporting veesh and his BMX event!
I run 20 inch inner tubes in my 22 inch tires
Hellya!
Love these educational vids, keep it up guys!
Love these vids
Love the content dudes!!!
Love the peeps love the show. Keep'em coming. 🔥🔥🔥
U can gut the insides of a coaster brake and have freewheel!!!! And save a few oz’s
Always cool videos
Thank you.
Stoked!
thx for opening people's minds
I love this channel.
This is reassuring. Cleaning my basement today I found a few 26” tubes and I literally thought to myself “I wonder if I could just jam those in my 24” tires??🤔” well thanks, man!!
I did the exact same thing years ago (26 on 24s) and got 2 burst tubes as result. I think that smaller tubes on bigger tires arent a problem, but the inverse is'nt ok cause they tend to be fold in the tire.
Naw stuffing a larger tube into the tire doesn't hold up over time. It will eventually get a hole where it has folds and creases from the tube rubbing against itself. I can't number the amount of tubes I've removed from tires that was done to and the flat was in the crease and not from outside the tire.. A tube that is smaller will work, but is more likely to flat from a tiny piece of glass( but then again tire talcum ( baby power isn't the same) is more effective for that) and will need to be aired more often. But it will have a lower rotational mass right where it makes a difference. TPU tubes are available and are very light about 50 grams compared to 150 grams . They are more expensive but have less rolling resistance too.
I used to ride 26in tubes in the 20in wheel not recommended but definitely works till you can fix ya tube. Also used to use all sorts of random stuff for tires patches mostly duct tape tho it worked pretty well if you did it right.
Nice shoes!!!
the bulging in the tube are the weak points of the tube, the rubber is thinner in those parts due to production causing the internal air pressure to push it out more, expanding it.
same case with smaller tubes on bigger tires, although in works, it will pinch flat easier since the rubber is overstretched. when running over thorns and broken glass, the few micromillimeters of stretched rubber is a matter of getting the tire punctured or not.
So true, the smaller tubes also don't hold air as well as the wider tubes
Can you do a tubolito vs a rubber tube
I’m running Maxis Receptors on my gravel bike and they have a slightly textured center with knobs on the outer edges and my bike rides fine over (not too technical) single track.
i used 26 tubes on my 24 wheels...... practical wise since i have 26 dirt jump......universal
classic bmx all-round bike, all round fun
I have a 40t and a modern bmx size, and something in between from Walmart, I shred all but the 40t cuz I’m not done fixing it
You should do how to install a half link chain and a good one about ti spokes n regular all the different kind of spokes idk I just think ur interesting af olabout bikes
Chain breaker is a chain breaker 😂
I am a beginner in BMX. So far, I have only ridden mountain bikes where the tire direction is important for water displacement, braking power, and, of course, rolling resistance. The inner tube is standardized to prevent it from becoming too thin, losing air faster, and being more prone to pinch flats. I have one more question: Are there tubeless tires available for BMX, and are there also dropper seatposts for BMX?"
i think some firm wanted to come up with tubless tires BUT i think they also said they are going to direct that towards racing bmx scene NOT FREESTYLE , i still havent heard anything of a rider that went tubeless on bmx street park trail etc. take it with a grain of salt but i think if the pros aint doing it yet i wouldnt , yet i saw this tubeless bmx presentation like 4-5 years ago so idk maybe they ve come up by now
+1 on the tube size.
as for tubeless tires, the new products of Alienation rims and tires are tubeless compatible. but rarely do you see anyone using them, if ever, they are best recommended for park use. Mike Fede YT has dabbled on in IIRR.
dropper seat is never an option. on the mechanism alone, it wouldnt fit on a seat tube. BMX bikes are more on shaving off weight, a quick release seat clamp is the best option. although most new frames has standardized welded on seat clamps.
pretty much any tyre is tubless compatabale but rims need some work. but dropper seat post for a bmx? nahh why
Hey Phu, DU MA.
I learned that at work from my buddy Hoang. No idea what it means.
the tubes always gets me, 1.95 or 2.1 tubes are way too common and cheaper and most kids think it wont work with their 2.35, I'm like I run 2.5 with these tubes with no problem.
Yh Most of the common widths work but I did notice that the wider tubes hold air for longer, probably because they don't have to stretch as much as the narrower tubes.
Having too much tube is the real issue. That’s where you’re going to get pinch flats because the rubber doesn’t have a good place to go under pressure.
@@clarkesuperman yh true
@@clarkesupermantrue if the tube has a small fold eventually it will get a hole in the crease from rubbing.
I use the CT-3 on all my chains
PHU should’ve worn a funky hat
My fav mash up is race bikes on dirt and street i need that speed. Just got that shadow chain breaker, i would like to see lube myths what can be used in a pinch example i cleaned and lubed freewheel with lighterfluid might make a fire video.
Kerosene is one of the best things to use for cleaning but I don’t know about lube lol you might want to put something else on there but the kerosene won’t cause rust or oxidization
I'll ride anything any where. I've bin stuck out with a flat and only had my friends little sisters bike tire. It had training wheels and I had a 20" bike..
Back in the 80's our bike did what we made it ride. Trust we rode everything with usually a single bike. Just ride it like you stole it.
We aren't in the 80s.
@xerebrlaszahszin4262 an don't I know it. My Zooz is like the complete other end of the spectrum.
🤩🤩🤩
damn youngsters...
Alf, will there ever be a restock of OSS frame stickers ? Please bless us plebs 😢
I left OSS in 2019
Do bmx need reflectors I got pulled over for not having any but I had both my back red light and front spot light at it’s brightest
Depends on your area and the bylaws in that jurisdiction. Some places are more strict. My town requires lights and a bell. Reflectors are optional but only having reflectors at night is not good enough
Bustin it like Phu be mustin it sometimes jajaja
All love bruh. Keep the chancla chapters going!
Phu tubes 1 size fits all
The tire tread direction will effect your speed. But if you wanted to climb dirt hills better, then flipping them the other direction would actually help in that case.
Poor Phu...having to put up with riders like us every damn day.
I have a 1.5 inch set if odyssey t-1000. 1.75" tire and 1.75" tube. They don't fit together. The tube is too fat. All your explaining just goes over 99% of guys heads. I believe you vu. But why doesn't my tube fit in my rim if its any size fits any rim/tire??🤷
Can you say it in English?
I have 2 chainbreakers and neither of them work on my halflink. it doesn't line up correctly
I use an Odyssey chain breaker on my Shadow half-link...I just have to be very careful when reassembling, keep it in line and not mash it up.
@@DS-oi4wlI got the odyssey when I bought my first half link, never broke a chain before didn’t know what I was doing. Had no problems and my chain has been going strong for 3 years and 1500 miles
But can a street build, ride park and trials
It can. I do it. But expect to have traction issues 🤣
Shit we used to ride 10 speeds on dirts trails……folks 40 and over know what im talkin bout
bad mold makes it do that. It will fail eventually along a seam.
One myth is that they're not gay for riding without a seat an just the seat post. Lol
They are.
Metal pegs damage ledges. Myth
Broke a chain breaker on a shadow chain so yea that's a reach
"myth 1" NOT a myth...yes, your professional grade chainbreaker will work a 1/2 link no problem, but most of the consumer versions (even the lower end Parks) will not even fit a halflink in between their rails
Can I use any tube in a 110psi rated tire? Or does tube psi rating have to match?
I tried fitting a 20 into a 24, it didn’t work
Where’s Nate richter he is mia
I like sha🌵🌵er
Idiocracy, it's the way the world is going
Its all marketing
Hey Phuu I know why the tube inflate one place bigger then the other here the big secret your looking for when you put the inner tube croked the stem get croked i mean not straight so it gets inflated on one place bigger then the other and it can blow on that weak spot cuz you know tube is just a ballon lol
Went to a bmx shop, bought a shadow chain and the guy said i need a shadow chain braker as well bcs it doesn’t work with the regular chain breaker 🫣😭😂
