"Little 10 acre field". It`s flat, no unproductive areas, soil fertility good, no stones and you`re planting it in stewartship, amazing. How we all view farming differently in the UK.
We’ve cropped it for 30 years and it’s always gives a headache. Combine header has to be put on on the road, it’s deep dykes, narrow bridge and neighbours field and dykes makes it awkward getting into the field with tailed machines which our all are. Field hillside part is 60% yellow clay with springs coming out so income very variable So stewardship is most consistent income.
Hi Andrew, thanks again for doing these videos. My dad wondered if you could included the date in your intro when you publish the video. He says it’s tricky knowing sometime what time of year it is when he’s looking back. Thanks
Inflation at 7.9% and food inflation 17% and still want to import more food, sugar has gone up 50%,I read somewhere that sugar hadnt moved in over hundred years ,it must have been expensive then
We can see to the Cotswolds, around Birdlip and to Cook hill around Ragley Hall ,from the NW of the county, there is no high ground in front to the Urals in Russia
Hi, Another really informative video. I was just wondering, when you take over the NFU do you think you will be able to affect government policies? I always thought farming was in better hands with the conservatives, but this current bunch I am not sure, but would it be be better or worse with Labour? From my side it seems that both parties seem to have lost any attachment to farming and have police’s that will lead to Britain getting more and more dependent on imports. Finally I wondered what your views on us joining the CPTPP, an opportunity or an attack on farming?
We have been truly shafted with the Tories and I can’t wait for them to go. Labour worry me though, they have said the first thing they’ll do is activate right to roam and ban badger culling. I think the best outcome is a hung parliament with Labour and Lib Dem’s. Re CPTPP, that’s now further enhanced us importing inferior produced food,
I agree with you Andrew except with a coalition nothing gets done because they can’t agree and politicians are even worse at shirking responsibility than usual.
Good to see the pullers getting looked after by the welfare trailer. Forward thinking and some thought to your fellow man other employers should take note.
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard I feel there needs to be a common awakening, unfortunately our press don’t cover this properly. I look at the Netherlands and the rise of the BBB, that I fort would never happen in the UK because too many of city folks hate the countryside. We need a BBB and perhaps when you take over the NFU you could start a campaign to educate people about the importance of farming to the UK, also one campaign to change countryfile, which I haven’t found anyone from the country who likes it.
Great video very interesting, hope wild flowers are a success, look forward to hopefully seeing them on my next visit to Sleaford .
Great video 🚜🚜
The crow flies in a straight line to nearest food supply (17c) thanks for great update - good presentation.
Great Sunday morning viewing .
Good luck with the wild flowers, notoriously difficult to establish. Be interesting to see your ongoing management !
We’ll broadcast them to establish them as they need to be shallow.
great stuff crops lookin well andrew

Crow flies the Peak District hills Andrew
Excellent video Thank you for your Time in its making .
😊👍
Will be interesting to see how wild flowers compete with weeds in stewardship areas
We’ve had wild flowers in all our margins since 2005. As long as they are established correctly, there’s no problems.

When you click on a video, where I put the Farm Update number part and what’s in the video, it shows the date it was published?
But the Puma can be repaired mainly on farm without all the complications of fancy computers. Good honest tractor doing jobs it’s a master at
I know that you haven’t ploughed for many years but would that control the weed problem? Great video as always so informative
We don’t have one so it’s not an option!! We’ve got rid of grass weeds up to now so don’t know why this year there is a lot.
👌
Where does the wild oats come from.
I wish I knew!
What will you replace the Puma with? A 4220 maybe?
I think another Puma but I bet Reuben and Tom will want a JD!!

280 kgs out Of calibration ?
No, 46kg. The spreader said we’d put on 994kg on the 2 plots, Weighbridge said 1040kg.
Is the area slightly bigger covered, or the overlaps for the difference
I think it’s more the overlaps because I have to switch it on and off, not gps automatically.
10 acres of wild flowers 💐 😮 what do you do with them when they've all died off??🤔
They won’t, our wild flower margins around all the fields were established in 2005 and they’re still going strong.
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard will you top them??🤔 or are they untouchable??
Depends on the growth and if any weeds present. We are allowed to top once a year to control difficult weeds.
@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard got there🍻 with you👍something for knarler 🐶 to frollick in I guess 🤷♂️
🐶 😂😂
Got to disagree with you, the repair to the exhaust looks poor to me, other than that, most excellent video.
You’ll know when it fails!

I am so pleased that Glyphosate is such a safe chemical for use around humans and animals.
