    Thanks for the update Andrew very informative as usual. This fashion in car tyres for bigger rims and lower profile tyres is ridiculous and especially 4x4s the tyre is the first point of suspension. To exit your drive to Newark both sides of the road are required so looks like the driver got impatient but it is an unbelievably busy road. Thanks again.

      Ridiculous being on such low profile tyres on a 4x4.
      You’re right about turning out the entrance to go to Newark, very few wait though.

    We have 3 telehandlers, the two rigids have the bibload style tyres like yours, one on Firestone the other Michelin. Firestone wore faster & broke up. Michelin a bit more expensive but much better value

      Interesting. The comment about Firestone being better was from Tanvics depot manager. I’ll tell him.

    Will agree the supermarkets here should take look how the produce is displayed, shame about the wall and hope you got the solo sorted.

    Off to france tomorrow. The choice and quality is great in france - it’s not cheap but it’s good. Lack of plastic packaging is noticeable in their supermarkets too. Refreshing! I am fed up with non recycled plastic wrapping or stuff that can’t be sorted unless it goes to a supermarket with carrier bags!

    Regarding the damaged wall, a couple sections of crash barrier would help, not mounted on the wall of course :-)

    Wonderful display of fruit n veg and choice.
    Just shows how poor our supermarket's really are! I'm really quite shocked actually.
    I've only been on a booze trip once to France and that was 25 odd years ago, plus Lanzarotte several times as in laws live out there. For a small island, their choice is as good as ours.
    As others have said, if you've got room, sink a bollard in on either side of the drive. Thankfully you know who did it and they're willing to pay for the damage.

    • @WardysWaffleAndrewWard
      @WardysWaffleAndrewWard  Год назад

      Our supermarkets are rubbish compared the the French.
      We used to have a metal post concreted in to protect the wall but 2 harvest student damaged our trailers on them so we took it out. Michael Bailey was unhappy as he was making money out of the post!!!

    • @RICHIE87622
      @RICHIE87622 Год назад

      Wonder if a flaunched concrete footing to guide any stray trailer tyres would help with out looking like a dock yard! Yes our supermarkets need to pull there socks up and involve the customers! Not just a tiny label and a red tractor that people don't understand!

    You need to visit your local quarry & buy a couple of 5 tonne boulders for your farm entrance, hit this, their truck gets damaged, not demolishing your wall.

    What's the issue with the seeding beet? I know it obviously doesn't produce a tuber.
    I'd sooner have steel wheels over large alloys, nothing but hassle on our poorly maintained roads.
    Firestone tyres are rubbish they split, Michelin all the way 100%

      If weed beet sets seed, the next time it’s sugar beet, the weed beet density will be huge which reduces the sugar beet yield and sugar.

    I heard there was a massive jump in grain prices due to Ukraine, I hope you get some benefit from it

  • @jonathanmormerod
    @jonathanmormerod Год назад

    What drives me mad about our supermarkets is that they've adopted a system of buying imported unripe produce, storing it in pure nitrogen atmosphere and then sticking it on the shelves. The result is utterly tasteless fruit & veg that goes rotten before it ripens. 99% of melons on supermarket shelves are tasteless and rot before they ripen. It's completely unnecessary. A few years ago I bought half a dozen melons from a market stall in southern France. Despite being in a hot car for 2 days before I got back to the UK, they were edible for at least a week after and the aroma of melon was almost overpowering. Apples are the same. In September/October you can tell that many of the British apples you buy are a year old just by the texture, despite it being peak harvest time. We need to wean ourselves off this absurd system of having everything on the shelves all year round and get back to eating more seasonal produce.

    • @WardysWaffleAndrewWard
      @WardysWaffleAndrewWard  Год назад

      Vinteresting about the melons, that was one fruit couldn’t get enough of last bc week. Totally agree with everything else.
