Aaand I'm back again. Had a rough couple of weeks but I'm back in business now - hope y'all have been holding the line!
Realised I hadn't actually done many Solo Terminid runs with an AT support weapon, so I'm taking the Recoilless Rifle this time with the newly buffed Gatling Barrage and Cluster Bombs for trash clear. With the rejigged enemy compositions, this feels like a winner!

Build:
Recoilless Rifle is our prime Charger killer - make sure you're cancelling the last part of the reload animation with crouch / weapon switch for faster reloads, just wait for the shell icon to go white. For normal Chargers, we're going for headshots, whereas for Charger Behemoths we're aiming to strip the leg first with a rocket, making sure to move towards the target while firing, then finish off the leg with some primary fire.
While we can take on Bile Titans as well with two rockets to the forehead, my first choice will be the Orbital Precision Strike, with its ability to one-shot Titans whether on direct and indirect hit, and reduced cooldown and call-in time. The reduced Bile Titan count means I'm happy to drop the 500kg in favour of the OPS + RR combo.
For trash clear, the Gatling Barrage with its buffed damage and cooldown is amazing for decimating bug breaches, while the Eagle Cluster Bombs clear up trash (and teammates) alike with extreme prejudice - with only Cluster Bombs on Eagle Rearm, that means I have minimal trash clear downtime.
With no need for stuns to take on Chargers, I can bring Impact nades instead, with the extra grenades from my armour making heavy nest clearing a little more practical with nades alone. The Breaker is a good allrounder for trash clear and Brood Commanders, and can even one-mag a Charger in a pinch, while the Senator means I have an option for armoured enemies too.

Btw FYI, you can reenable the mission timer through your HUD settings. I forget the setting name atm but fiddle with it and you'll get it back :)

edit: options > hud > mission info visibility and set it from dynamic to visible. turn off auto-climb in gameplay settings while youre there

They really gave the Dakka stratagems a new lease on life. Been seeing it used a LOT on bug breaches, and it's absolutely devastating when placed correctly.
Ah man I used to love strategem stacking back in HD1. Me and the boys would strafe run for days. Good stuff as always!
The improved turning radius on the HMG Emplacement has really made it shine this patch for me

i’m glad they made the strafing run and gatling barrage higher armor pen, bc it puts them into an actual niche rather than a direct downgrade of say the clusterbomb or orbital air arburst. it makes sense that bullets would have higher pen anyways
Definitely. Does surprisingly well at killing BTs through exposed armour too. Gonna try that 110 pods + strafing run combo next time!
Welcome back!! I am obsessing over the Gatling Barrage lately, it comes with me on every single bug mission. There's almost nothing better to throw on top of a breach and it carries through nearly the whole thing. On missions where a ton of chaff spawn on breaches I've gotten upwards of 80 kills per breach, it's insane.
EDIT: To tack onto this, my opinions on the spawn changes is: I think I'm happy with where the game is at it. The huge amount of chaff just keeps the intensity high most missions. Though I do wish we could see occasional mission variants where there's more heavies again. You just rarely, if ever, see 4+ titans in one place anymore and I kinda miss that every once in a while lol.
Yeah, that's my feeling too. Those Titan swarms were a really cool difficulty spike, would be nice if they still pop up when the RNG hits just right.
tbh i think its still worse than gas strike, but i do like do take it too just because it "feels" a bit more impactful
@@meinnase honestly I probably agree, it is definitely more of a "makes my brain go 🅱️RRR" reason that I take the Gatling Barrage.
I had a mission yesterday where we saw north of 8 heavy chargers wandering to us. Suffice to say it took a while to go through them.
The fixed Spear really is amazing, I loved it before but now it feels just that much better. It's definitely more of a bot weapon imo and it does it's job extremely well there, you can shut down whole bases from so far away, and with gunship patrols being a thing now it really gets a workout
Glad you're feeling better now! While you were gone, the hotfixes have been very helpful for the game after the big patch overall!
When it comes to anti-tank weapons against bugs, EATs have been my favorite lately because of its short cooldown, so I'd run it with an anti-swarm weapon in the same loadout and make it work. Good to know that rocket launchers can still one-shot the Charger Behemoth's leg armor, if you walk forward. I'll have to try that next time.

There should be a skyhook booster.
You would have like 20 seconds before the destroyer leaves orbit to call in a hellpod, and inside would be a harness you equip as a backpack, meaning you have to get rid of your rover or supply pack in the process.
Then, instead of landing at the extraction point, a line will appear on the map which will be the path the pelican will be flying fast overhead. It will drop a long wire and you will have only a few seconds to get on that line and attach to the wire. Then you get yanked away into the air.
Skyhooks are so cool. Think I've only really seen it represented in MGS and Splinter Cell Blacklist.

I think similar to breaker before nerf, its isnt necessarily an overpowered option; incendiary breaker is just comparitively the least painful to use to the majority. Breaker has good damage, but is insanely ammo hungry. Breaker SnP has great crowd clear for chaff, but the lack of medium pen/damage means some enemies you cant deal with or require lots more shots. Breaker incen may have lower dmg than breaker, but the DoT means you pepper crowds to save ammo, and still deal with armored chaff; all while also having a larger mag.
I think the Breaker vs Incendiary is actually pretty balanced, since the Incendiary is a pretty weak pick for Bots imo. Spray & Pray just needs a little something over the Incendiary imo as they fulfill very similar roles, but the Incendiary overshadows the SnP in the most important departments.

If you mean the Punisher, I'm a big fan - has a good rhythm to it, good damage and staggers for days for stunlocking Stalkers etc.
also is it possible we see a ballistic shield w/ laser cannon build? i noticed you like running the hmg with the ball shield, but i’ve seen the laser cannon is a strong pair with it
I could give it a go, I just prefer the bubble shield for the lascannon to stop my aim from getting jostled while firing!

I never played HD1, but many time I've wished I could go in with 4 of the same stratagems.
It was borderline broken, but I loved it ha. 4 airstrikes was amazing.
Back in HD1, I used to do something crazy like 4 Patriot Exosuits in one mission, but then I would later put the repair gun support weapon into the mix to keep them healthy.

I find the incendiary breaker struggles with bile spewer worlds, the ammo efficiency against primarily durable enemies is really, really bad.
Autocannon for bile spewers is awesome. 2 shots the bile sack. Incendiary breaker still viable for trash clearing.
True, though I don't think the other Breakers fare much better. The medium pen primaries definitely do though, yeah.
