The Barra sounds epic mate! Don’t stress about the timeframe, take your time and go at your own pace, last thing you want is to get burned out. Really looking forward to seeing what you do suspension wise. Keep up the great work mate 🤙🏻
Coming along awesome!! The only thing you might find is if it’s a bit loud having another muffler as close to the back as possible would make the bark a little quieter if it’s becomes a problem. My old xr6t Ute had an APS exhaust which had two mufflers one being right at the back and it sounded really good. Love the build I’ve had an xr6turbo Ute and now into 4x4 stuff so this ticks plenty of cool boxes!!
Nice work mate, keep it up. I like watching the effort you're putting into it. The hand made and quality aftermarket parts is what puts this build above the others, also seeing it built to last and not for big power. I would hate to see it rushed.
Hi Richard, don't stress on time mate, it'll get done when it gets done. Love the air box lid mate well done, I knew it would look great !! Hopefully the exhaust is not too droney when you drive it on long trips mate. Seeya Rob
Yeah my territory had a leak like that. It turned out to be the g/box oil pump on the front. All the o-ring seals had hardened and leaked. Got it sorted at a G/box specialist for s couple of hundred bucks..... the bloody oil cost more than the repairs.... while I had it out I replaced the rear main seal on motor. The rear main has a pre lube which turns out does tend to leak a bit for the first few hundred kms... it did scare me a bit. They use a vaseline type grease which looks like oil when warm but if you let it cool it thickens up so if you do the same just keep an eye out for it. After a week mine was fine, never leaked again....👍👍good luck....
-_- thanks Chris, great insight from someone with experience. I have some fresh oil for it which I haven't put in, maybe I'll do the same and get some upgrades done while I'm at it! I did the rear main before I put it all together but this does look like ATF.
Hi. Excellent conversion. I’m in the early days of. Barra swap in my HJ75 Ute The motor is getting built now. Looking at stripping the 2H out soon. I do have some questions The Barra motor I have is a front sump well/pickup It looks like I will require. Rear sump well did you have issues here. I would appreciate being able to pick your brains Any chance we could talk.
Man it looks so good and the quality of everything is outstanding. But I am concerned about the heat soak as you mentioned. That’s a lot in front of the radiator, at low speeds I definitely think your gonna have trouble, unfortunately.
Thanks Edan. I am concerned also, I guess I'll just have to test it, I think a project like this is going to take a lot of development to get right. If it works - fantastic, means a simple setup and only 1 fan. If not, no biggie I got an angle grinder and a welder so I'll sort it all out!
Race works fittings are made in China in the same factory as aeroflow 247 Adler speed etc etc all same factory but of variable quality I would say race works is definitely higher grade from that factory
Mate I honestly have no idea! Maybe 45K worth of parts depends on how crazy I end up going with lockers, chromoly axles, paint etc. Maybe 1000 hrs of labor? Probably close to 100K if you include that!
Thankyou for bringing me on his journey with you.
No worries! Hope you enjoy it.

Cheers Geoff, so keen to get it on the road but yep you're right no need to rush!

Thanks mate, yeah it is very possible. Maybe a second one further back like you suggested to keep it nice and quiet on long trips!

Cheers for the advice Rob. Can always put another muffler in if it gets annoying!

I haven't finished it yet! I couldn't give you an honest answer at the moment.
Oscillating mic music is bringing on a fit whilst listening to your word's.
Excellent video content however 👍🏼
I tried hard but the sound was just so far off! I’ll do better next time. Apologies.
Don't worry about me, just an old fart.
Keep up the brilliant work 💪🏼
Do you still ride dirtbikes mate?
Absolutely!
Barra vs LS is like arguing over which crayon tastes the best
100 percent, gotta ruffle some feathers to make it fun though. Can't wait to drive with a few from the other camp out on the tracks!

Yep made in China but they are based here with all their development done here! Yep I reckon better quality than some of the others for sure.
Suweeet!
Cheers Rhys!
I know you would NEVER sell. how much would this beast be worth when finished?

@@DesignedandBuilt take my money!!! lol
Your header tank looks to low it needs to be higher than the top hose on the radiator
