- Have you ever had to deal with Nigerian scammers when trying to sell something online? I decided to document my interactions with one of them and it has turned into a 12 part series! I actually tried reaching out to other victims and they may have alerted the FBI! I may have inadvertently started a scammer war.

Amazing how scam-like anti-scammers' language can be when talking to victims. They should know better.
Exactly, we know he's a good guy and we probably know how to spot real scammers, but the victims evidently do not, and with scammers posing as anti-scammer recently, I honestly can't fault her (nor the other ones that didn't even reply).

I haven't finished the video but if I received a text like that not only would it give me ainxiety but it would make me think you're trying to scam. Maybe try adding a little more information and reassurance if you ever decide to contact a victim again.
Same tbh. There's a really popular blackmail scam that gets sent out via email. You know the type: "I have this sensitive info that may pertain to you, give me all your money to unlock it, or I'll expose it to everyone." I wouldn't be surprised if, especially as recent scam victims, they immediately blocked his contact.
@@That_Aly_Cat I honestly love those, I respond all nervous and give them excuses why my life sucks and why I don't have the money to pay them to not show my dirty pictures that they found on my computer, then at the end of my message I tell them that if they want anymore of those they should see my cell phone and I'd be happy to send them. It’s honorable that you have tried to help this person. However, it’s always important to remember that people are products of their environment, and it’s difficult to help someone change a hostile lifestyle without also changing their environment, whether that be physical, social, etc. It seems like this person just saw another means to profit through your better nature.

The events that have unfolded is a clear sign that you need to take your talents elsewhere and leave this be. After all that you have done...after almost flipping this Emmanuel guy, he still trying to be shady and asking for money. The money you sent him went to his pocket. That right there is a sign that dude isn't gonna change. He put you on a leash and walked you along the path. He did reveal things about the operation, but on the surface. It's not like he provided you their real identities and real addresses of the scammers. The only good thing is that it did bring awareness to the issue in Nigeria since people began reaching out to you about it.
Your best bet...cut your losses, and don't pursue anything more.
Pleasant Green is like a fisherman. He wants to get the big fish, so he needs to throw the juiciest bait. But this needs patience.

All money transfers outside your country should go through a bank that makes you explain why you're sending it.

Disrespectful isn't being careful. I'm a forgiving person and if I was given the amount they scammed I'd not come and "shorten their life" after they gave $500 extra. I've done business with a Nigerian once. I keep thinking it was going to be a scam. I was selling about 1000 packages of adult diapers on Facebook for about $300. It wasn't a scam he was sending them back to his home country threw a charity. He drove a few hours with his wife to get to me. I ended up giving him a even better deal, even know he showed up intending to pay the asking price. It felt so weird and I'm glad it happened.

No good deed goes unpunished. I’ve learned the heard way that if I get too involved in such situations I only come out looking like the bad guy. Keep your mission pure. You can’t be a scam buster and a scam savior at the same time.
I don't feel like this series is going to succeed like it did with Liberia. Emmanuel comes in originally as a scammer who actually trying to scam you. But Joel started off as someone asking for help. I think that's the differences. Emmanuel probably won't ever turn his life around like Joel did.

Yeah I'm a Nigerian and I'm here to tell you that Emmanuel was scamming you. And the other scammers just emailed you cause they saw another "doofus" they can scam. And also most scammers here just insult you when you are no longer giving them what they want. In this case, money. Or if they've gotten someone they can scam for more money.

I hope the FBI learns from these videos and is able to shut a great deal of if not all of these scammers down.

What would happen if you tell the scammer "no deal, I'm keeping all the money to myself" or "why can't you make all these payments yourself instead of sending me this check"?
I admire your optimism, but these scammers absolutely have no incentive to go straight. If you listen to some of the RUclipsrs who tie them up on the phone for hours, some have admitted that they net $10,000 or more per week scamming people. There's 7 billion people on the planet and a considerable percentage are gullible fools desperate to find a get-rich-quick scheme that works. Why would these scammers leave such a lucrative endeavor?
You mistakenly think they have some kind of moral fiber. If they did, would they have become scammers?
