- I got a tip regarding a law firm that was scamming people out of money. I called them up and figured it was time to shut them down. This is the story of the rise and fall of JR & Associates.

“We are an actual law firm” should be enough of a defensive statement to be confident they are in fact an actual law firm.
Hello, JR Associates, actual attorneys at law.
Everyone would be convinced if he says "We are an actual law firm, no scamming here" Bam! Sounds legit
'If you were wondering', would've been the icing on the cake 😂

This scam sounds more "legit" than most actual debt collectors.
Seems Legitti.
I love that the scammer not only lists the client names to a total stranger, but he does so in a totally random order, as opposed to alphabetical order as one would do if he were actually looking at a list on the computer. And only the right person had a middle initial.
yeah, it totally sounded like he was just listing off random names hoping that one of them was grandpa!
I thought the same. Why was there the letter "D" towards the end? Oh geeze.
You need to get Kitboga to have Grandma Edna to call them about Granpa. That would be a riot!!
😂😂
Please
Those two guys you've mentioned are corny af.
Get IRLrosie instead
yes you should do a collab with kitboga and gramma

By federal law, they must state "this is an attempt to collect a debt, and any information may be used for that purpose". FDCPA explicitly states that that cannot threaten criminal prosecution. Just an FYI

It’s actually quality assurance.
@@aaronnguyen2795 No duh. That's why summer pointed out that he said insurance instead. Sheesh.
@@cateatfood6634 I think you ate too much cat food considering you sound like you need some chill pill lol
To verify someone’s DOB you ask them for their DOB not tell them lmao
@@Samiozd no for security purposes you verify dob by having them tell you. It's how you protect privacy of customers
Don't make comments like this, if the scammers are watching and reading comments, they'll adopt the method.
@@Samiozd Businesses can get in hot water for compromising someone's' personal info like that. If that scammer worked for a legit call center and a supervisor or QA listened in on that call, he'd be fired before the day was over for giving out personally identifiable info like that.

As a 64 year old senior scammers have tried to scam me 100's maybe even 1000's of times but I am a smart senior and I go out of my way to make their life a living H*ll !!! And everytime they spend months trying to scam me they get so angry and call me every name in the book and when that happens it gives me a warm feeling of pleasure !!! LOL
This guy was weirdly passive aggressive for someone trying to steal your money.
He's trying to maintain a professional business like attitude to add credibility to the supposed legal threats.
On the privacy thing, you'd be surprised. I once had an actual collection agency say that they'd read my full social security number to me to prove that they weren't scammers.
lol the scammer seeems more believable because he’s not Indian
And not as blatantly running off a script either.
NAWW nahh there’s no way he is Indian
@@stanneL its not racist. Most scammers are Indian that's a fact. Its easier to scam in India becuase the police don't do much about it. Obviously if its an American person of your own country your gonna be more likely to believe it
Fionn Regan yes thank you
@@randomkidwithnofriendslive he's Indian, you can hear it faintly. A handful are just able to learn the accent pretty well. Like a good actor can do multiple accents, they just get a legitimate paycheck.
This dude isnt even trying to hide the fact that its fake. Sam Losco is a character from the canadian show Trailer Park Boys. JR & Associates is him referencing the wangster character J-Roc. What a farce...
I know I found that so hilarious. That is honestly so awesome!
Jordan Brow That’s absolutely amazing
They do this so that the informaion sounds familiar. familiarity insites condifence and trustworthiness.

He has moved beyond cave painting.
I hate scammers!!! This video kept me laughing, especially the thought of your grandfather only being 14 years older than you!!! Keep up the good work!!!
I love scammers!!!
...at least when they're getting scambaited.
I've gotten a call from one of these "firms" and when they told me they were going to have me arrested (because I owed money---you can't arrest someone for owing money!) I said, "Bring it, I'll be waiting for you." They never showed! Dang, I was so looking forward to it! It burns me up, because people get scared when they get calls like this.
When he was listing off names it sounded like he had to think of names.
I've always wanted a app like this to waste people's time much easier than google
Brandon Barrera it’s also crazy how in the beginning of the call he was looking through files without having anybody’s name.
My thought as well lol
I thought that too, at first. But I think he's only naming males on the list since he knows it's the guy's grandfather. So he's just pausing while passing over female names.
@@GK222_ Yes! That was my first red flag! The hell you mean you're going to try to find the file, spend two minutes looking, and only THEN ask for the person's name?! 😂
I would kill to have the app on iphone please make it happen if you can!
Unfortunately, Android and iOS use different programming languages. (Although I've never tried working on an ios app)
Anthony I don’t think it’s the language problem, I doubt Apple would allow an app like this on the App Store..
Joel Clark i bet your right! 💥 ... 😢 tho I want to participate too! So many pros to having an Apple but this is one of the cons!!
@@rachf9695 tell me one pros of owning an apple
Apple, like all their services, coral things so they can charge wildly inflated prices. Apps for their phones are no exception. It's their business plan. From the price of hardware to the data you run on that hardware they want full control so they can charge extra. Look at iTunes. It overtakes any device you put it on & makes sure you pay & pay. They don't even sell components so you can repair their overpriced hardware. It's control along with hugely inflated prices at every stage.
Buy an android 'phone. Scrap iTunes & join the real world.
As a lawyer I really want these guys to call me.
Sam Losco is a character from Trailer Park Boys, and JR is from J-roc which is another character 😂😂
greasy caveman
When I heard him say Sam Losco, I had to stop and replay it! 😂😂....i can see JRoc in his office monitoring this call, know what I'm sayin'?
Losco is Italian for shady...very appropriate indeed!
This is just a little greasy 😂
Sam Losco🌭
This guy sounds shockingly professional for a scammer.
He sounds like a 16 year old boy to me.
The amount of times he said "uh" would have made me mighty suspect.
He didn't sound professional. He's just not Indian
Not Indian
...unfortunately
In the state of Georgia, debt collectors can't even disclose to a spouse without getting consent from the actual borrower. Source ex collector.
How much did you end up collecting?
Were you allowed to negotiate payments with borrowers? What's the maximum discount you were authorized to give for a lump-sum payment?
@@mujtabaalam5907 Settlements are usually based on guidelines set by the creditor... unless the agency outright buys the debt, in which case it's up to the agency.
The agency is usually free to negotiate within the guidelines, and can contact the creditor for permission to go below the guide.
Yes, same in the UK (for anyone never mind debt collectors and lawyers) and in the EU due to our data protection laws.
I believe that law is in every state. That is one of the things that told me that this law firm was fake. Not only that but they read off names and they were the ones that gave the birth date. I thought it was funny that they asked the "grandson" for consent and not the grandfather. lol
After listening to this lawyer, I understand why the IRS and Amazon went to Nigeria, India and Ghana for hire their representatives.
For someone who was harassed by scammers like this in the past, watching this was therapeutic. 😅
“How am I gonna give a first name that they have on file?”
Mike. Always go with mike.
Or Karen or Chad
I can imagine a scam baiter using Mike and chain it with Mike Nelson's record of planet destruction.
As someone who used to work in call centers, I was so shook 😂To even deal with other relatives you have to have a POA faxed or emailed to you. And then you need the first and last name of the person you're speaking to. And to verify any information the person needs to tell you the info, not the call center agent. When he said he needed to verify dob I was wondering how you were going to guess but then the scammer just said it!!
According to reviews on your app. It would appear that it has become outdated and is in need of some new fixes and updates. Please consider notifying whoever you are with on this.

Just found your channel like 3 days ago, been binge watching your videos. Freaking love this content. You are awesome and keep up the great videos man!
This is a very serious scam! My friend recently received documents from what looks like a scam or a scam law firm.
I keep getting contacted to insure my vehicle because they’ve noticed my Warrenty was expiring. I don’t even own a vehicle and haven’t for 10 years.
Well, as you no longer have a car to have a potential warranty, then I guess they were right when they said it expired 😀. Sorry, couldn't help myself 🥸
I get this one too. I tell them I have a Prius that needs a new battery pack and flux capacitor. You are going to loose money with me on your program LOL.
@WaitingToFade - For sure. The scammers seem to be going into overdrive. I just received three scam emails. Two for "renewal of online services - both over $300. The few times I have called other scammers, I always like to ask them to verify which credit card they charged by telling me the last four digits of the card number. The last time, they kept hanging up on me, so - since the area code showed Illinois, I reported the phone number to the FTC government website. I may call the two online services scams and do the same. The third is from a right Reverend Father wanting to send me $10,000,000 if I, in return, give him $750,000. He wants to ship me keys and boxes that contain the money. :-D I may mess with him as well. It's really strange how these scammers manage to fool anyone. Some of the scams are so idiotic, I am amazed anyone falls for them. And I hope you never paid too much liability insurance on the car you never owned :-D
@@pilot_sailor007 You have one of those too, huh? ;)
Call is being recorded for "Quality Insurance"

🤣🤣🤣
Yeah. And not to mention the fact that that is supposed to be said, or played automatically, at the beginning of the call. You can't just tell someone after they've been on the phone with you for 5 minutes "Oh by the way we're recording this call..."
😂😂😂

So I downloaded the app and started calling the scam number. Even though I chose to "hide my number", they called me back. I don't need any other scammers calling me, so deleted the app. I like the idea of turning the tables on them.... But not at the expense of getting my number out there. Otherwise, love your videos!
Do it on a cheap phone that you don't give out the number to other callers

Not gonna lie, in my head the scammer sounds like a nice guy, up-and-comer who's got his first job answering phones, and is already ready to start working the big cases, if his higher-ups would just see how much he's learned in the two years they've had him working for them.
If it wasn't for particular details, I'd totally have fallen for this scam.
Are you serious? He sounds like an absolute dummy who massacres the English language.
@@paulfarmer1605 I think it was in the 40's, scholar's had mapped out an entire intuit dialect. They weren't fluent, but they could translate from one language to another.
They returned in the 60's, I think, and found that same dialect had become incomprehensible to their previously recorded notes. That language had no written form, and linguists believe, in its natural state, that's how fast language evolves.
Written language hermetically seals it.
The point of language is to communicate, and in his case trick people. It's obviously worked on both accounts, and however long ago I'd posted this comment on this video I hardly remember, I could see why.

You can look up who is hosting the website and then report that to the hosting company. Simply use the 'who is hosting this' website. When you see the name of the hosting company, seach for the name of the company with the word 'report abuse.' Then submit a report.
Definitely useful but they'd likely just make another one, the way they did with the phone number.
@@soniccookie655 That's true. Obviously scammers can always start over. This is for people that want to slow them down or cost them money.
Not every domain company acts on reporting a site for abuse.
@@anon_freedom_anonymous_leg42 You don't report websites to the domain company unless there is abuse in the website address itself. If it's the content on the website that is a scam, you would report it to the hosting company. Now, is it true that not every hosting company or domain registrar will act on these reports? Sure! Be careful if someone calls you, and says: "Can you hear me?" I have had two of those in the last week. Whatever you do, don't say, "yes". Just hang up. They want to record you saying, "yes", because unbeknownst to you, you will be agreeing to pay them money.
Had that happen once, said "...yes?" and the moment it sounded automated after that I hung up. Never heard from them again.

Yikes

That isn’t how it works. They can’t make you pay money just by saying yes. It’s an automated system designed to test if the number is live.
Don't say yes. Some of these are Medicare scammers. They have the Medicare Acct numbers and they are billing Medicare for equipment on the "YES" answer. You may even get the piece of equipment. (may never know how you got it though) But their scam is the charging of the item on your yes answer that they spliced in as your acceptance to wanting it. That is how they are making money. Angel Vargas he can’t because apple banned auto dialers
not possible unfoutunatly, ios is very locked down
What about for Jailbroken iOS devices? Or a web app?
Not possible because Apple is only intrested in making money by ANY means possible. Meaning they don't have any loyalty to those it makes money from. So unless someone wants to PAY apple what it take to make an app for ios them it is never going to happen. How about you? would you like to pay for thst to happen? I don't think so. This guy is a godsend, literally! He's actually getting these scammers to rat out their operations. My wife and I are constantly getting robo marketing and scam calls. We thought there was nothing that could be done to stop this insanity. Hundreds of people post videos on RUclips showing how they are making the scammers aggravated by calling them and playing with their head for sometimes hours, but no one has ever got these scammers to give up information on their operation like this guy is doing. And he helps these poor people who are caught up in this racket. It's really not the scammer that is at fault, it is the owner of the operation that is enslaving these people to scam people from the United States, Canada and abroad, and pay them peanuts so they can feed their families. The scam operations have to be shut down and people caught up in these scam companies need to find legitimate work so they can make a living. The only reason they do this is so they can make a little money to feed their families. Most of these people, caught up in this, feel very bad about scamming people out of their money. Keep up the great work Pleasant Green, your making a BIG difference. God bless your efforts...
