Perhaps checking out the Ted talk put things in perspective for the scammer. A new way to look at what he’d been doing. Probably always knew it was wrong and hurting people, but didn’t think of the long time hurt after the scam is done or something. I’ve been watching a lot of these videos, not just pleasant green but trilogy media and scammer payback as well. Every so often, you get a scammer that comes completely clean and reforms

Why??? He wasn’t trying to do any good. He was just scared to receive the money because he thought it was another trap. He more then likely thought if he went to pick up the money that police would be waiting for him and in return go to prison for a long time. Not sure why people are so easily scammed even when they know someone is a scammer and plays mind games. This has to be the worst scam out there. Just have someone show up to the check in desk at the airport for a nonexistent flight. Them asking what the name is under then you say “idk I wired some money to someone overseas for the ticket.” Def not going to raise any red flags and get the FBI involved.
I'm sure after the person pays the fee they are ghosted and they probably don't think that anyone actually booked them a flight. But it is still weird that anyone would fall for it.

Yeah to be a good scambaiter, you should avoid giving them tips as much as you can. Especially since they watch scambait videos to learn how to be better scammers. So never correct their spelling/grammar or call out obvious red flags. It might make you feel smart in the moment but the end result is your teaching them to scam better which is a net loss to everyone.
I'm an English teacher. One thing I've noticed, no matter what scam whether its fake websites, messages, profiles, they all always have a myriad of grammatical and spelling mistakes. I spot them in seconds. Pay attention in your English lessons folks. 😊
